Internet problems at cashiers

They have a lot of items, but they’re way overpriced. They price their items higher than other Goodwill stores in the same local area, and many of the clothing prices are even higher than the brand website/rack clearance prices for the same item. I don’t spend a lot of time or money in this store like I do in others. Their Housewares section is great, and they have a big selection of nifty items, but unlike other Goodwill stores, if you want to buy the whole set of dishes or bowls, for example, you have to pay for each item individually, and in that case you might as well just buy a brand new set from Walmart or Amazon. In all cases, it’s nearly impossible to find any Color Tag of the Day, and the ones they do leave out are still on the racks because price is so high that the 50% tag isn’t much of a deal . I end up leaving a lot of things there that I would have otherwise purchased if the prices were a little more realistic, especially for a store whose inventory is literally free.

Stopped by at 8:27pm to drop off donations. The guy at the donation door told us they were closed. Went to front door to ask if donations closed early. No, they are supposed to be open.

I frequently stop at this Goodwill store so Today I stopped and got 3 items as I was standing in line I took the tag off of two items one was jammed under the other item I was getting so while standing in line I removed the tag so that she could leave the item that was to heavy for their helpers to unload it into my car. I handed her the two price tags ?️ and she immediately said where did these come from? I said as l, pointed to the two items, these, I just took them off to make it easier as my item is wedged between n the cart and the big heavy item would need to be unloaded by their helper. She, in a very rude manner, said you can’t remove the tags and this tag doesn’t go with the item you have here I said yes it does I just took it off while standing here, I just now took them to help YOU! She said again you can’t take them off!!! I’m said, Im sorry I didn’t mean to cause a problem I was just trying to help you. I try to make it easier and faster for the clerk, and that is the only reason I do this, so they can at least have one customer a day be friendly polite and helpful. clerk kept repeating you can’t remove tags from the item and this tag doesn’t go with this item is 9.00. I said no it is not That tag came from inside that item I just now while standing here took these two off and was just trying to help you! She very disrespectfully and rudely grabbed the phone and called for management the whole time saying you can’t remove the tags then accuse me of switching tags. Ok, I get it, probably people do swap tags, so had I walked up with two tags not on two items then yes she may think I swapped the tags but I walked up with tags on the items. So, she was complaining to me about the tags and basically had me pegged as a shoplifter thought to myself well I’m certainly not a thief but if I were I’d be smart enough to switch a tag for more than fifty cents!! Lol!! So here comes manager she glanced at me then asked the clerk who was already telling her she removed the tags she took the tags off this costs more blah blah. I chimed in..I was waiting in line this item, I pointed to the item stuck in under the heavy item, got stuck so I removed the tag right here in line as I rolled up to the check out counter, to make it easier for her, but was unaware it’s forbidden, then I again said I’m sorry I didn’t mean to cause a problem I was just trying to be helpful. the manager lady says this is the correct tag for this item. It ruined clerks story line she had already pegged me as a lying thief switching tags for a few cents difference, clerk didn’t let like the manager confirming I wasn’t lying. Then she looked at the other item n says this one’s ok, so I said it came out of the inside of the item so that’s your price and with no eye contact she walks away. I paid for my items then politely said you may round that up. I always round up. She very sheepishly said thank you. No eye contact though. So the manager wasn’t really blatantly rude like the clerk but, if in doubt why not go in the back and check the cameras before one jumps a customer and pegs them as a thief? As for the clerk, please do better. You caused a scene in front of all the customers waiting behind me to check out, which was frustrating. I’ve never had such rude service at any goodwill store in any state and I frequently go to Goodwill in many different states, and never ever had any issues with staff. They will, however often thank me for handing them a tag if it’s hard to reach or just taking hangers off the clothes and placing the item neatly with tag facing up. I wish I could give some customer service advice and instruction to the workers at the Goodwill on Apache Trail and Phelps, Apache Junction, AZ. Please remember kindness trumps rudeness . Politely explain to customer the reason this policy exists. Never accuse a customer of stealing. Check cameras first. It’s not rocket science to have good customer service. I know I won’t be going back if they treat me with disrespect anymore.

Staff with attitude but good collection of clothing.Because the dressing rooms were closed, I tried on about 10 items over my clothes. Out of the 10 I found 6 that fit well.Because the 4 items I didn’t want were all different sizes and item types I gave them to the cashier when checking out l. I have worked retail for over 15 years and always hated customers putting back items in the wrong spot. When checking out I handed over my garments without the hangers on ( this is usually helpful). I mentioned I had a few items I didn’t need nor didn’t want to put in the wrong place. He mutter under his breath “ you seriously don’t want those? Ophhh… good thing no one is using this register”. While I was being polite and saying thank you he had a smug look on his face and terrible attitude. The last item didn’t have a tag as I assume it fell off when I tried it on. Because he had a gross attitude and I didn’t want to inconvenience him (which was me trying to be polite since he was being rude) I stated that I didn’t need the item if there was no tag.Again he had a smug attitude and huffed at my statement.Because of this interaction I probably won’t be back. I have lived in the area for over 35 years but this was first time at this location. I will be going to the Mesa or queen creek one going further.

Few weeks ago my husband happened to find what looked like an old sword pushed between the cushions of a chair that he was interested in buying.. so he asked manager to price the sword but she immediately took the item to the back and said she can not sell it... Well he came home and we made phone call to corporate office to ask if they can sell the item and they said yes they can do we filed a complaint... Two weeks later we got a phone call and the manager said we can come in and purchase the item for $100.00.... wow! Ok so we went to the store to look at the item.. after examination of the item I know for a fact that the sword was actually a SLO sword (sword like object) which is not worth anything!!! So basically it comes down to this... The manager tried to price gouge us because they knew we wanted it!!! They didn't even check themselves to see if the item was a fake or not!!! Well you didn't get to screw us Goodwill!!!

Most expensive Goodwill in the area and most expensive Goodwill I've been to anywhere. My husband and I drive to other locations across the valley because we find better deals at those other locations

After waiting at the cash register for multiple minutes while Henry decided to recount and reset the register (when I made it clear I was paying with Apple Pay) . My phone died. I then told Henry and the other respectful young man I needed to charge my phone and I’ll be right back. When I came back to the store minutes later, Henry looked at me through the window and would not open the door… a kind customer let me back in and I was then notified Henry had put my items back that I had spent almost 2 hours picking out. Thanks to Henry I don’t have any where to sit this evening since I was unable to purchase the chair I needed. Thanks Henry
