“Great spot! We were looking for a video poker machine to give my mother-in-law who loves to play but doesn't get over to the casinos much anymore (plus Covid...). We landed at New Life Games and we were thrilled with the selection and pricing! The store is loaded with refurbished slot machines, video poker and video games. We walked around and found just the one we wanted, they even switched out the top part of the cabinet display for one we liked better. The owner, Scotty (?), was very informative and helpful, gave us a satisfying price and off we went to give her the surprise! And she sure was surprised!!! We were told to contact the store should we have any issues with the machine. We did have some, and every now and then we still will run into a quirk or glitch, but they are readily helpful and even have come to the house to fix the problem. Excellent customer service!!! Especially when the in-laws are older and don't leave the house often, plus "technology" can be confusing to them. Scotty shines through every time! Unfortunately our sweet Nana passed away months after her gift, but we were able to let her get in some great in-home gambling before she went to the casino in the sky! We are eyeballing a Pac Man / Galaga table top that he's got on the counter for sale, one day we'll have one and when it's time to buy, we know just where to go! There are lots of trinkets and fun gifts inside the store as well. Just stop in and take a look around! Located across the street from Safeway on Highway 95. Thank you so much for AWESOME service and reasonable prices!! Our family is so happy with our machine and will definitely recommend this little shop to anyone, any time! THANK YOU AGAIN!”
“On Monday April 21st I went into Batteries Plus for golf cart batteries. Talked to a very nice man, James, and he explained that they only had 2 left in stock. I needed 6, so he explained that their order would be in between Wednesday and Friday of this week.
On Friday morning we received a call and off we went to get our batteries, on the way there I was checking the paperwork James had given us Monday. The paperwork showed a 10% senior discount, which he had mentioned, however on our over $900.00 order we were only given a $30.00 discount. I ask about this and James explained that they put a $30.00 limit on the amount you can receive as a discount!! I have never heard of such a thing. A 10% discount is 10% off the cost of the item you are buying, not, unless it goes over $30.00!!
I paid for and received the batteries, and yes the 3 to 4% certainly helps, BUT it is NOT a 10% discount that it states on the paperwork and just plain wrong!! If I spend LESS I am rewarded with a 10% discount, BUT if I spend close to $1,000 or more I only get 3% or less. How and in who's book is this a way to do business?
I am very disappointed in the situation they put their employees in having to explain to seniors that the paperwork only SAYS 10% but it doesn't really mean that!! Only for people who spend $300.00 or less, spend more and you are punished by losing most of your discount!!
James was very friendly and helpful, and I wish for his sake I could leave a better review but this discount thing is absolutely ridiculous!!
I would truly love to get the remainer of my discount, 60 bucks is 60 bucks, especially to seniors! So next time I will buy 2 batteries at a time, receive my $30 and do this 3 times receiving my full $90 discount!! Which is what I should have done today!
Unless you get it together and realize that saying you give a 10% discount means 10% on the purchase with no cap!!
You can believe that everyone I know and everyone they know will hear about this!!
