They charged me a higher price than what was on my stated contract for storage. When I brought it up they were not interested in a refund for agreed amount. I would not recommend.Service: Winterization

Took our boat to Jake's in May to be serviced. We explained to them that the boat had been sitting for almost 5 years, so it might need more than just your normal servicing. When they told me my boat was ready and still running, I was excited to hear there were no major problems. Took my boat out June 5th for my birthday, only to find it wouldn't start. Unfortunately, it was a Sunday, so I couldn't take it back over to them. So we dropped it back over to them June 6th. They asked when I would be up next, as I am from California. I told them I had a big family trip planned for July 12. I explained to them that after this Summer, we would unfortunately be selling the boat. They told me the boat would be ready to go by then. Fast forward, it is now October 7th and the boat is FINALLY done. I'm still In shock of the horrible service, and the lack of compassion we received. Please, do not take your boat here. I wish I would've pulled it out sooner and took it to another place. Thanks Jake's for a Summer lost..

I dropped my boat off on February 15th of this year. The shift cable was off when the boat was in reverse and I would shift to neutral it would remain in reverse. I took it to Jake's Marine ( Dennis ) was running the office. She Very knowledgeable and over the top friendly. She said it will be done in a couple weeks. I didn't hear anything until March 17 when I get a phone call from Mary telling me I had a transom seal leak. They sent me a video of the leak when they did a lake test and also told me I needed an impeller. I thanked them for the video and gave them approval to fix the leak and replace the impeller. I live in Ca and have a place in Bullhead so I could not stop by and check on the boat. I would call once every 3-4 weeks to check on the status. Every time I would get the same answer it's on Matt's list. I get a call on 4-20-22 telling me I needed to replace the motor mounts because they had to lift the motor to fix the transom seal. I again gave them permission. I called on 5-18-22 and asked the status of my boat and got the same answer it's on Matt's list. I called another boat mechanic in town. I tell him what was going on and he said bring your boat to him and he will have it to me before Memorial Day weekend. He also told me I was the 5th customer from Jake's Marine and they all said they waited several months and their boats were not fixed. I wasn't in town but a friend offered to pick it up and take the boat to the other mechanic. That seemed to put my boat as a priority. I get a call on 5-31-22 telling me my boat is ready. I tell Mary I will be there in an hour. She was very surprised I said , "I will be there in an hour " and then she says "O you live in town ?" I said yes. I picked up my boat and took it to Lake Mohave to test drive it. Shifter cable was not fix it stayed in reverse and also the motor would cut out when I put it into forward. Plus the engine was idling high with a lot of vibration and now the gas gauge doesn't work. They did fix the transom leak which I was grateful for. I took the boat right back to Jake's but they were closed. I went back the next day to talk to Mary but she was not there and the lady running the shop said ALL 3 mechanics called in sick. I told the lady everything and she just dropped her head and said "I will have Mary call you". That was last Wednesday June 1st seven days later still haven't got a call from Mary. I took the boat to the other mechanic. He had 3 mechanics working on other boats. He assigned my boat to 1 of the mechanics. I had my boat back in less than 48 hours. The boat runs great now. I know how hard it is to get good help these days but it is completely unacceptable to have a boat for 106 days and not fix the problem and refuse to call the customer back. I didn't even mention the cost !!!

Unorganized and didn't fix issue. Also new issue created Took my boat there in February for engine service and to fix an issue with the shifting in the outdrive. I described the issue in detail and said that the issue is when it is under a load. The tech made an adjustment but I asked if it was tested under a load and he said no so I asked them to do a lake test. The boat was ready a week later for pickup and the lady at the front desk said it ran great and was fixed. I picked up the boat but was unable to take it out until early May. After getting it started, I backed off the trailer and when I put it in drive the shift didn't engage (shifting issue not fixed). Floating in the harbor, I was able to pull the cables from engine compartment and get it in drive. I drove it on the lake and after 10 minutes I opened it up and got to a higher RPM. After 20 minutes of driving, I started losing power and heard loud popping coming from engine. I shut down the engine and got towed in. Found out a spark plug blew apart. I brought it back to the shop and first recommendation was to replace engine. I asked them to try and get it started first and if able to correct the shifting issue (original problem). For two weeks I followed up with them and nothing was done. I told them I was gonna be in town and needed them to do so immediately so I know if it can be fixed or I need to get my boat. They couldn't start so I picked up boat. It's really a bummer b/c they are so close to my house in bullhead and right by the lake. I recommend finding another shop

These people are always extremely customer focused and friendly. Beyond that they are extremely competent. They were nice enough to change my prop when I didn't have my tools and only asked me to tip their guy. This trip I pulled a midnight bonehead and put diesel in my gas boat. Jakes was happy to help, didn't even make me feel stupid, and the cured my issue. They had the boat for less than 3 hours and the price was a fraction of what I expected. Big ups to Jake, Denise and the crew. I am happy to do business with them even though it's usually under poor circumstances. Thank you!

I normally don't do this, but Jake's Marine has been exceptionally good and helpful recently. They diagnose problems and solutions that are quick and efficient. Their pricing is fair and reasonable--but then again, when it comes to the total bill, we're talking about fixing boats, not clocks. They have helped me with my boating repairs and storage needs for over 10 years now. Mary, Heather, Jake, Michael, Kenny have all been very helpful. But, the person who helps the most is the office manager, Denise! She'll help you and "bend over backwards" when most people wont! And for that, I'm grateful to have a place that takes care of people the way we all want to be treated. Looking forward to 10 years more! If you want to inquire regarding my 10 years of experience with Jake's Marine, please email me at

I would, without a doubt, recommend this shop to anyone in need. The service at this shop has definitely won me over. I found myself in a major pinch with my family's vacation at Jake's mercy and Denise and Kenny got my back! They were able to set me up with an appointment as soon as they opened, diagnosed the problem within 15 minutes, and had it all fixed within half an hour. I couldn't even get to Home Depot down the road before they called me saying that it was ready. Their service was so great, that I even moved forward with the preventative maintenance they recommended, and when I say recommended, I mean recommended and not forced upon you. They had that work done within 2 hours, not to mention the prices were very fair. They could charge whatever they want given their location and the needs of the boaters, but that was definitely not the case. In fact, I will even bring my boat from California to here for any of my service needs from now on. My close buddy, who is also an experienced boater, was also very impressed and will be bringing hi boat here for now on as well.I cannot say enough good things about this shop, especially Denise and Kenny. They saved our family vacation!Choose Jake's Marine!!!

I've had several problems and Jake's has always handled them in a professional and timely manner. I recommend them to all my friends. Especially when you book ahead so it's not just a emergency..Its seems to be very busy these days with last minute boaters wanting a quick fix...
