The Camp Verde Visitor Center is a small, friendly place that offers helpful information and a touch of local history. Visitors appreciate the welcoming staff, especially the older woman who is known for being very kind and helpful. The center functions as a mini museum, featuring a small museum room with interesting displays, including historical pictures, clothing, and a mineral display. It also serves as a place to pick up pamphlets about local attractions, such as Montezuma Castle, Montezuma Well, and the nearby wine trail. Visitors often use it as a starting point for exploring the area, with suggestions for lunch spots and access to the river. The center has its own parking lot, but there are no public restrooms available. Many visitors mention meeting knowledgeable staff members who share a passion for the area's history and recommend nearby sights. Overall, it is a great place for families and travelers to learn about Camp Verde’s history, get directions, and gather information for their adventure.
We visited Camp Verde on our way from Sedona to Scottsdale on Boxing Day and met the wonderful Gerry-Ann at the Visitor Centre - Gerry-Ann is a fountain of knowledge and had a real passion for the area and recommended that we visit Camp Verde Fort as well as Montezuma Castle - we very much enjoyed our time there - thank... read full comment

stopped in here after we found out the Ranger Station was closed (even though we arrived there during business hours). Jerry was so sweet and provided a lot of great maps for surrounding areas! there was also a little free museum!
