Museum itself was closed, however these photos are outside and visible year around. Love Cave Creek!

A wonderful museum to visit: the volunteers are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and complete the experience. The collection is robust for the physical size of the museum and they've accrued several larger extremely unique items you'll be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Highly recommend that you plan a day trip up to Cave Creek around this hidden gem!

Great historical museum of the local town, artifacts of local Native American tribes, and the mining industry that the town was built. There were some great mechanical displays outside, including a working model stamp mill and a Fairbanks-Morse ZC 739 oilfield engine that they run a couple of Saturdays a month. I also saw a big unrestored 2 cylinder steam engine. I could have spent a lot more time there!

The staff was very friendly and there was so much to look at in a small space. Especially enjoyed the special program with the Kiwanis’ Family Fun Days: SOUTHWEST WILDLIFE CONSERVATION CENTER.

An outstanding museum of the history of Cave Creek and of the pioneers and native Americans who lived here. The displays are wonderful done and presented. There is also an outstanding outdoor exhibit with the actual mining mill that was assembled. This is a must stop if you are in the area.

Nice smaller museum with a lot of great history. This Hohokam territory was known for mining gold in the mid 1800’s. Super friendly staff.

Had to visit this establishment for history of the area. Loads of displays dated back decades ago. Friendly and knowledgeable volunteers to answer questions and provide information about the history of Cave Creek et al.Remember to check the outside area as well because there is more places to see!

Very good information on pre-Columbian native people of Arizona. The docent who showed us around the mining displays was excellent. There is a large (around 20 feet or so tall) rock crusher from the second half of the 19th century that has been restored and is operational. Really gives a good idea of industrial mining at the time.

What a gem! For a smaller town, this museum packs a variety of historic nuggets into the exhibits and the grounds. We attended the Gold Stamp Mine Experience, and visited the rest of the museum after our Gold mining tour. We were very impressed with the guide who shared everything from the process to the hard life miners endured. Watching the stamp mill rumble to life was a treat. The Gold Mine Experience is only offered on certain weekends and you will want to buy tickets ahead of time.

Cave Creek Museum does a great job relaying the history of Cave Creek and its native people and early settlers with an emphasis on mining. One room dedicated to archeology of the area. An original 5 star tuberculosis cabin. An actual working mine stamping (rock crushing) machine that operates every 2nd Sat. Check with museum for times. Entrance fees $5 for seniors.

A great place to stop and learn some history of you're in Cave Creek. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and it's not too expensive (they also give a discount for students). All in all a great museum.

We visited the museum to attend the gold mining experience. I brought my two older grandsons(9 and 15) and we all enjoyed it. The volunteers were helpful and informative. We learned a ton of history not only about Cave Creek but about Arizona as well. Lots of artifacts to see and even panned for gold! I recommend a visit here and I know I'm coming back again!
