Made an appointment with them to look at my a/c and heater on my truck On the 5th of October. I live in Washington and have a home in Cottonwood. I drove 3 days and 1500 miles to take my truck in on the day after I arrived. Got to cottonwood at 9pm on a Wednesday night. The truck wouldn't start so I tried to charge the battery. Finally found my litttle jump starter in the morning and jumped it and it started. Calked Phillips and told Brian I was on my way at 9:30. He said since wasnt there at 9 I he wouldn't be able to work on my truck til the 19th. Even if I left it with him he wouldn't have time to look at it. I came down here to get my truck ready for the winter. I am leaving on the 16th so plenty of time for him to take a look and hopefully repair it. I am really disappointed. We had gone to their shop in May and talked to them about this appointment. Do not expect any customer support from Phillips air repair. They are inconsiderate, rude and i DI NIT RECOMMEND them. Really crappy people.

This was my first time at Phillips Auto Repair, and I am so beyond happy with the service they provided! I was nervous to look for a new mechanic because I have next to zero knowledge about vehicles, but my experience here took that stress away. I immediately called my husband after picking up my car, and told him that this is where we’re taking our vehicles from now on! Everyone I interacted with was so kind and friendly, and you can tell they care about their customers. After looking over my vehicle, Brian called me and thoroughly explained what issues they noticed, what he felt was urgent, and what he felt could wait and for how long it could wait. He made sure to give me all of the information so I could make an informed decision about my vehicle, and you can tell that he takes a lot of pride in his work. They completed their work in a timely fashion, and the prices seem very fair!! I cannot recommend this shop enough. Thank you so much for your help!

As a senior, single woman, I was looking for an auto repair shop that I could trust. A friend recommended Phillips. I've only taken my car there twice so far, but the recent time was for an oil change. I will be forever be singing their praises to everyone I know. The technician (owner, I think) noticed one of my tires was split, and unsafe to drive on. He recommended I go straight to the tire store and have it replaced. The tire store team member said it was split all the way around (and showed me). He couldn't believe I was still riding on that damaged tire. I firmly believe that by the Phillips technician bringing this to my attention, he may have saved me from a very serious accident, or possibly even saved my life. I will be forever grateful for Phillips going the extra mile with their attention to the condition of my vehicle - along with an oil change. My hardy thanks to you for being such a blessing to me!

Phillips Auto is the only place I take my vehicle. I trust them implicitly with the care required. They not only provide excellent service, but also inform me of any main issues that should be addressed in the future.Services: Wiper blade installation

It's hard to get an oil change especially during tourist season. I was able to get a quick appointment and my vehicle was ready when they said it would be. Great local business! Prices are competitive also!Service: Oil change

A a single diabetic Vietnam Veteran who has used this business before with no problem, I require a ride. I scheduled an appointment based on that premise and reminded them that I would require a ride home as always. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told that I had been scheduled to "wait." I explained that that would mean I might have to wait from 0800 until 1700, They agreed that that was a possibility and offered to find me a ride if I could "hang out." I agreed, but not being told how long I'd have to "hang out," I mentioned that, and suggested they might have to call me a cab. I added that I had not yet taken my insulin. The good news was that my ride was ready, the bad news was that I made the mistake of suggesting a remedy by making note in their computer that I was a customer who always required a ride. I was told they do not, but I made the mistake of asking if there was any other way to avoid the miscommunication in the future. In the past, I had patiently waited months and driven over 100 miles, one way, to meet an appointment diligently working with their schedule to negotiate a ride. I did this because of the quality of their service but mostly because of the reputation ED Phillips had built within the community. In this case Phillips' son and presumptive owner only became irritated with me inferring that I shut-up and take the ride or he would gladly get me my keys and I could go elsewhere which he actually did. On the way out the door, I was told that I was not being very nice while they hadn't even bothered to express regret regarding their part in creating the situation to begin with. As I received my keys from Phillips' son, I was essentially told to leave, take my business down the road and don't come back. Their business model is clearly, and abruptly: Take it or leave it and for God's sake don't open your mouth. This young owner clearly recognizes zero reason to reconcile differences to provide better customer service as he and his associate appear tunnel visioned regarding their own immediate feelings over that of the customer particularly if that customer has special needs, is disabled, and dares to be in any way critical. Sadly, this reflects poorly, to me, on Ed Phillips who built the business, and it's not his fault. You may think I am angry, I am not, but as a decorated Marine combat veteran who has spilled his blood on foreign soil for this country, including those I encountered today I am grossly disappointed in the way we are still being treated, and that, in my opinion, is not only disrespectful, but it's not nice. I wish them well.

Was my 1st visit at Phillips. I was impressed by their service. I waited during my car's repair and heard Kathy and Brian treat each customer with respect. My old Highlander was also treated well and the repair cost was competitive and reasonable. I plan to be a return customerService: Auto engine diagnostic

This is my first negative review I have left for any business. I'm leaving this so hopefully it will save someone the time and headache that I had to go through. I took my car in to get a transmission flush and to check my brakes, I told them before they started working on my car that I wanted to see if it was safe to drive across country. Once they finished I had to ask if it was safe to drive because after they charged me I realized they hadn't mentioned anything about the brakes safety. When I asked the guy working there he said no way the car is beyond repair because of issues with the brakes, it's so old (1993 Lexus) that they don't make the parts anymore and I just need to scrap the car, and I only had 1000 miles left on my brakes. So first issue I have with this, if I hadn't gone back in and asked they wouldn't have told me how unsafe the car was and I would have kept driving it until my brakes just went out, second they charged me to look at the problem and tell me how they couldn't do anything, and third it was a complete lie. I got a second opinion from Clay at premier auto and he said absolutely he could fix the brakes. I took my car to him the next day and within a few days my brakes were fixed. Not only did Clay walk me through everything but he showed me the parts after and what he did exactly. I know hardly anything about cars, I'm a female and hate to think I got screwed over and almost sold my car to a junk lot because a guy who I thought knew something about cars lied to me. Please avoid this mechanic. I would have respected them if they just were honest and said it would have been too tough of a job for them to do, but to lie and said it would be impossible and the parts aren't even available anymore is unacceptable and I have no idea how they can be in business. Take your car to premier auto if you want someone who will be honest with you and take care of your car.

My wife and I have used Phillips Auto for a number of years. I have always been pleased with their competence, reliability and customer service. I needed a local mechanic that demonstrated professionalism and who could give me piece of mind when it came to our vehicles. Phillips has been great!
