No judgement in this establishment. No dropping weights, no loud noises, very clean. It's refreshing to meet awesome clientele who respect one another. We look forward to working out here every time! ?

Women's showers are disgusting! I've been here twice, and I don't think this part gets cleaned.

This is not an easy review to write but I do feel it's important to share. I do care about the gym and am hopeful this will create positive change (or consideration). I have been working out in gyms for 30+ years. There are not many options available in Cottonwood, and I was initially very impressed with Planet Fitness. Very clean and the staff friendly. I have been a member now for 2.5 years, and I have learned a lot about this gym. Here are points to consider before joining.1. They cannot keep good people. I have never seen so much turnover in a gym. ALL the good people leave. I have learned it is because they are only paid minimum wage. In addition, if they work overnight, they are paid $1 more. . . Now I know why the staff stands behind the front desk talking to one another, socializing with members, eating fast foods or scrolling social media on their phones. 2. This is not a gym devoted to fitness and wellness. The staff does not walk around to guide/correct anyone if they are not using the equipment correctly. There are tootsie rolls at the desk (check in) area. Seriously, tootsie rolls at a gym. The majority of people who work out here are far more into socializing (in groups of 3-5 people tying up equipment) versus working out. I actually have photos and videos capturing this. 3. Their summer program allowing high schoolers to work out at the gym free: They are allowed access to the club at all hours. Therefore, when the club is most crowded (after work 5-8:30pm) there are now high schoolers in clusters tying up the equipment. I actually spoke with a regional manager about this last summer, asking why they are not provided access only during the slower club hours (i.e. 10-4pm), so that the PAYING members are not inconvenienced. I was told that would be discriminatory. This makes absolutely no sense at all. It is not discriminatory to provide a FREE program during the slower hours of the day, so paying members are not inconvenienced. I seriously would like to have my membership fee waived over the summer for this inconvenience.4. The no-judgement zone is a great concept as it applies to where people are at in the health/wellness/fitness journey. However, at PF, this applies to allowing members of the gym to miss-use the equipment (damage it. . . I have actually talked to the technicians who are on-site from time to time fixing the equipment). No judgement . . . do whatever you want . . . And you will find "out of order" signs on the equipment regularly, sometimes up to 10-14 days. 5. The median age of people working out there is 23-25. One of the staff members who left, shared this gym gets a lot of riff-raff due to the low membership dues. They talk loud; across the gym at one another, swearing (every other word is "F____"). I see male members spitting in the garbage cans regularly. Most of the time, I feel like I am at a high-school or college gym versus a gym where adults workout. I travel for both work and pleasure. I do appreciate the Black Card Membership and have used it in NYC, Chicago and Palm Springs (to name a few locations). The NYC and Chicago gyms were the cleanest and most professionally run. The clientele seemed more serious about their workout program as well. In closing, I have spoken to other (50+ aged) members who feel the same way. The only reason this gym maintains a clientele is they are the only game in town (except for Snap Fitness). I do appreciate having a place to work out . . . and the staff (if managed/paid properly) would likely stick around and show up differently. The staff members are good people; just need to be managed/guided properly. Unfortunately, it seems Planet Fitness is not into retaining their staff or members.I'm adding to this review as the PF Social team (after asking me to reach out to them via email) is not able to make or return phone calls. They are strictly a PR arm for PF versus an advocate for change. They actually asked me to send them the review, after receiving my email. . . . Take a moment and Google reviews for PF nationwide

Had I left this review sooner it may have been slightly lower, yet still satisfactory.. An employee named Paul has transformed the energy of this gym. Many people choose planet fitness for cleanliness and Paul and the team have this place spotless.. Beyond that though he remembers the members by name, he asks them about their lives, and is genuinely excited to see you when you arrive. This is a glimpse at what service used to be and what every gym staff should aspire to.

Clean, mostly friendly staff, plenty of equipment available that is well maintained. Other people there are friendly and polite, good atmosphere.I will say I'm not impressed with staff working on the weekends. They are less welcoming and helpful.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. I would give this PF location negative stars if I could. When I arrived there was no one at the front desk to check me in. As I began working out, half of the machines were marked "out of order". Staff wasn't very friendly. Bathrooms and equipment were filthy. When I brought in my guest who was already in the system as a guest, they required them to have an ID. This was confusing considering to register a guest they previously had to show an ID, fill out info, and get their picture taken, so why would they need to show an ID to continue coming as a guest? The workers absolutely would not let my guest in until they showed their ID.... As someone who is a digital nomad and travels in a van across the states visiting MANY PF locations, this has NEVER been a requirement from any other PF location across over 30 states I have been to. I was not the only person arguing with this policy at the front desk. Many others were frustrated lined up at the front wondering why their guest couldn't come in without an ID. I can't begin to explain how frustrating it was dealing with this location. All around a horrible experience; avoid this location if at all possible!

Been a member of another local gym for three years.. Haven't even worked out in months. I have worked out of 30 years, and always loved working out! I asked myself one day, why I wasn't going in, after all, it was I who laughed at all the fools who had a membership, and didn't go, and all of the sudden I was one!I came to the conclusion I didnt like the energy of the other place.. Low ceilings, machines crammed together, and even if there only a handful of other members there, felt crowded. The other day, came into PF here in Cottonwood near Safeway, and took a look around. High ceilings, not crowded, lots of machines, clean, friendly staff etc. Came home and thought for a day or 2 which membership to get, picked classic which is 66% less expensive than my other membership was.Came in around 5:45 this morning to give it a try.. Wow.. so crazy nice. Very relaxed, people there but not crowded, clean etc. A whole different vibe. Asked the staff a couple questions, they were very helpful!Worked out for an hour, for the first time in months, felt like a million bucks, then went home and walked just under 2 miles too, and then got on with my day!Wish I had done this so many years ago!In my opinion, definitely the best value out there, and a great place to be.Thanks PF for a real winner, and getting me back in the groove!WH

Great spot for a smaller gym. The staff have always been friendly and accommodating while keeping the gym exceptionally clean. I see them cleaning almost every time I am working out.

I was a member of Golds Gym and later 24 Hrs fitness for over 30 years before moving to Cottonwood area and started using Planet Fitness. I love it, very clean, good people and I won't go anywhere else. Just have a request which is that the management fixes the equipment faster if broken.

I worked out here for the first time yesterday as I'm searching for a regular gym in my area. It's very clean and not too crowded when I went in on a Sunday afternoon. There is a VIP area with tanning bed, 2 hydromassage beds, and 2 massage chairs. I asked the front desk people if I could try out the hydro-massage bed and the massage chair... they let me try the hydro bed but not the massage chair saying that you can only try one thing and that's it. I get that I'm there on a free trial day, but it just seemed stingy. Most gyms let you try a free week, that's pretty standard to give you a better idea of what they offer. PF gives you 1 day. There are no classes & if there's a personal trainer on staff, I didn't get to meet them. Customer Service could definitely use some spiffing here.I almost want to just sign up for a month and see if these issues change, BUT my impression wasn't great. If I'm not blown away by Snap Fitness, then I'll consider joining PF.There were also two homeless people camped right out front of the PF. It makes me think that my car isn't safe there, as there also seems to be a lot of shady people in the back of the parking lot just hanging out in their cars. It's definitely a great gym, but I may keep looking. The "Lunk Alarm" thing is a little strange too. I totally agree that people shouldn't be meat heads and make a bunch of grunting noises whilst slamming their weights, but to actually make it a thing...? Weird.
