I like this place alot! The Stihl service center is pretty much the only place in town for small engine services, so you'd better buy a Stihl if you're not mechanically inclined. The gentleman who work there are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Picked up a 5 gal bucket of elastomeric from the shelf. I'm v strong, but it was v heavy, so I asked an associate for a dolly cart. She looked at me and then looked at the product and said (not before correcting me on my terminology-like the d*** foreigner she treated me as), "you mean a CART!"Feeling empowered I'm sure, she then asks me, without yet dropping the disdainful expression, "How many do you need?", clearly erecting a stone wall.Without telling me where the carts are/ saying yes, I'll just get one, she proceeds to martyr up and try to grab the bucket herself, muttering, "I'll just carry it".I was t about to let that happen, and v confused, I said, "oh no, don't do that. Never mind, I can get it."Why didn't she just tell me where the carts wereAn old busy body decides to chime in right at the end, telling me I was outrageous. For asking for a cart I thought better if all this treatmentManager told me he would have just got me the freakin cart! I took a refund and made it clear my custom would be appreciated somewhere else, not to mention selling me the same product cheaper (habitat for humanity-highly recommended )Despite feeling better that I get treated as a normal human anywhere else generally speaking, the bullying behaviour was very, VERY upsetting. And I'm no easily-offended Karen, make no mistake about thatBless the associates who have treated us so well for so long, but Liz, go and learn communications, & Jeff, you are a useless manager.

Every time I visit ACE in Cottonwood, AZ, the employees are polite and helpful. Today I needed to match some paint that was not originally purchased at ACE and I only needed a quart. Kyle in the Paint area was excited to help me match the color--he seemed to take it as a challenge. He was able to take a chip off the outside of the can and match the color perfectly! I went to Home Depot yesterday and the man in the paint area didn't want to even try to match it. I will always go to ACE hereafter. So happy to have ACE in Cottonwood!

A bunch of very rude very bitter people who with the exception of two cashiers definitely have some issues with customer service considering that's the profession THEY CHOSE lmfao get a life it's not hard to be a genuine person I'll never be shopping with this store again I'm sure of that

Ace cannot compete with the big boxes except by providing above average customer service. Sadly this Cottonwood store has below average management that put their short sighted policies above customer service. They totally blew a simple job of replacing screens, failed to communicate, mis-communicated, and then acted with a cavalier attitude when a complaint was made. Unless a management shift is made this store is headed the way of SEARS and other failed companies.

I prefer to shop local and buy USA products whenever possible, but I’ve now had 3 encounters with one particular employee that are disconcerting. Having just moved to Cottonwood, we were unfamiliar with the store layout and found an employee stocking items in paint supplies area, sipping a beverage and chatting on her phone. We moved so as to make eye-contact and she literally turned away, not saying a word, gesture or acknowledgment. We found a drill, unfortunately at the time the selection we poor but we selected a corded drill. After getting home, we removed it from the box and is was heavy, too heavy for light jobs around the house. Never used it, and we returned it a couple days later, with the receipt. Again, the person at the counter was the same young lady. I presented the receipt, and she noted on the receipt it stated ‘no-refunds’ and this policy wasn’t posted in a visible area where I selected the drill and during check out. I didn’t review the receipt at checkout, however we purchase over $250 of goods. I reiterated it was never used, and it was too heavy for my tasks. Nope, no return, ‘that’s the policy.’ I asked to see the manager, who came to the cashier’s station and after she informed him of my request he asked why I was returning the item. I pulled it hefty drill out of the box and handed it to him… which he fumbled a little as it was heavy to handle. He politely granted my request. This last encounter, again at checkout I was returning a trowel while purchasing other items. I had my receipt, explaining I didn’t use the trowel, putty knives I had worked just fine. She began critically examining the $4.59 trowel, saying ‘it has been used’ and the price label was removed. I reiterated I hadn’t used the trowel, but I did remove the price label anticipating I’d use it… she kept examining the trowel, and I said ‘I told you I didn’t use the trowel, why are you continuing to examine it’ and she curtly sad, ‘it’s our protocol, sir, it’s our protocol to check every item returned.’ Frustrated, I said ‘protocol?’ And she mumble loud enough for me to hear, ‘jeez’ and a big sigh… then she put the item down and completed the transaction, asking if I’d like to have the refund receipt and donate the change balance to a children’s charity. Interesting transition. The folks at Camp Verde ACE knock it out of the park with customer service, so we’ll hit the big box store or travel to the Camp Verde ACE…

I can't get enough of this place. We come back frequently. The inventory is outstanding, and it's also a homeowners' shopping fantasy land. Several times I have seen things while I was browsing, and have come back later with them on my shopping list. The staff here are Ace Hardware friendly, and I hope that never changes. Given that everyone comes here on a mission, I am impressed that all the customers treat each other well. I saw four stars on my last review, and I thought, "that can't be right." This is definitely a five star business.

The other day, AGAIN, I needed several hard to find items and, of course, this place had them. Fantastic employees - always happy to help me find the weird things I'm looking for. Barely get in the door before one of them trots over and offers to guide me to the aisle and bin where the Robinson screwdriver resides or the tiny fuse, or the old school drain stopper or the next day when I desperately needed a certain odd-sized drill bit. Plus, they are pet-friendly on those hot days when you don't dare leave your dog in the car for more than a minute. There are times when I think I should move to Cottonwood just to be near them.

Ace Hardware conveniently located with a very large selection of practical items. They even have the shooter rotorcopters; so there's fun stuff too. There's plenty of parking and helpful staff.Recommended.

Expensive, low experience levels. Unless you're in a position of no other recourse go. Would not give you a nickel for the place, not so warm and nice. Found the management extremely poor. Brought some things back, only to imply it was shoplifted. Took the manager 30 minutes to figure out a couple second problem. Needless to say, will not be back. Home Depot much better, less money and B.S Limited, talented people,. May not even find any. Good luck

Always has what I need and the staff help is always, yes always super helpful.Update 11/6/20Had a horrible customer service issue. Went to return about $12 of plastic irrigation parts left over from a Spring project. I was told they have a 30 return policy. They checked my purchase history to confirmed I bought the parts in April, but they would not refund or even a store credit even after I told them we were part time residents.I am so surprised that they did not make an exception given my circumstances. So good bye Verde Valley Hardware, over $12. Your supervisor made a very bad decision today.
