I usually love JCPenney and I'm a frequent shopper however, after encountering Nancy who GRABBED my phone out of my hands to fill out a survey about herself, I was very displeased with the management. I was very shocked to learn that she is one of the managers. As a business owner myself, the lack respect is astonishing. Aside from the terrible management, the workers as a whole were very helpful and welcoming. I hope they can get Nancy under control.

Every time I shop at this store at the Flagstaff mall, I give thanks that we still have this store. Many stores have closed across the country. I find incredible value in my every purchase. Today, I found Mixit sandals accidently. Thrilled, because I couldn't wear out my last pair. I bought three pairs and was then surprised to realize they were on sale from $17 per pair to $10 per pair. I had to leave behind my last pair in Bali. They still functioned but had lost the sparkle applications. These are great summer shoes. I pray this Penney store stays open for those of us who live here and for the employees. Contrary to another post, I am always treated with courtesy by the staffr.

What a NIGHTMARE. I had been a loyal JCP cardholder for years. In Feb '23 my card was compromised (fraud) and though I reported it the same day and the amount was reversed, it ultimately showed up on my next statement. I have been fighting with JCP and Synchrony Bank ever since. Every CSR that I spoke to said the same thing "you owe the money". One actually said, if I didn't pay, it would affect my credit rating so I paid the amount even though I knew I wasn't responsible. Countless calls fell on deaf ears. Finally, in July, ( after 5 months of calling) I reached someone who took time to do a deep dive into the matter and determined that in fact, I had overpaid because of the fraud and I was owed $270. She said it had to go through their "checks and balances" before the check could be issued but she was sure it would. Fast forward a month and I received a check for the overpayment and cashed it. I cancelled my JCP card because of the overwhelming frustration I had experienced (with the replacement cards they sent me, I somehow lost all of my rewards which were fairly considerable). I assumed that was the end of it.The following month I received a statement from JCP and my balance was $270. I called to say I had not made any purchases. and I was told the $270 that they sent me had been reversed but absolutely no explanation was given. I finally spoke to a manager (Patty) who said that I should not have been sent the check for $270 and that she would send me all of my statements that related to the issue which she did. As soon as I got the statements, I could clearly see that they had made an error and I should not have been charged the $270 again.Several more phone calls later I got another agent who went through all of the statements and agreed I did not owe anything on the card. She said I had a zero balance. I asked for that to be put in writing given my history with dealing with so many people.On Aug 21/23 I received a letter from Synchrony Bank for the JCP Credit Card that stated "per your request, your account was closed and at this time our records indicate you have a zero balance". I had also requested of the agent that the interest and late fee be waived because this issue was not my doing. She said she would put in a request.On Sept 11/23 I received another letter from Synchrony Bank saying they would NOT remove the interest or fees!!!Despite the letter I received stating I had a zero balance and my account was closed, I received another statement at the beginning of Sept indicating I owned not only $270 but an additional amount of $36.00 in fees and interest for a total of $306.00On Sept 18/23, completely exasperated and at this point feeling that this was now harassment, I spoke to a manager again (Patty) who agreed that this had gone on far too long and that I should not have to keep calling to get this rectified, after all, JCP issued the check that I was owed and had agreed I had a zero balance. Demonstrating empathy (which no one other than the gal who figured out that I was owed $270), Patty said she would get to the bottom of it and that I did not deserve to have to go through all of this. She ASSURED me she would call me back 2 days later (Sept 20) to let me know what, if anything, she discovered. I thought certain I now had someone in my corner who would figure it out. But guess what, NO CALL from Patty as promised.I ended up calling back on Sept 25 only to find she had already gone home for the day. She called today to say that they are still looking into it and that it has to be referred back to the fraud dept who originally cut the check. I told her this should not longer be my problem and that I should not be dragged along this ridiculous goose chase. She said their hands were completely tied. I had enjoyed shopping at JCP but this had completely soured my experience and will never shop there again. It's just not worth the frustration and harassment.

Maybe I don’t want to walk around the entire building to go in. FYI fire exits aren’t locked with a key. I’m sure the Marshall Might want to inspect that.
