Good, knowledgable and courteous folks in the Flagstaff operation. Based on the manager, rating should be 5/5.
But serious problems with the national chain (which takes call/sets appointments). I had a flat on Sunday, called Pep Boys. Agent gave an appt that day (and said they were open til 6pm). Another agent confirmed 2 hours later, but tow truck dropped me off to an empty parking lot. Closed Sundays (which agent didn’t not know).
My Jeep with no top sat in the rain overnight (minor damage but just work to dry it out).
Edited: the work done in my Jeep was excellent. Great response, excellent service, good value. Devin (manager) was the best.
Message to Pep Boys National office: FIX YOUR RESERVATION SYSTEM.

I scheduled an appointment online and made all the necessary arrangements ahead of time, only to be told next day they couldn’t see my car at the scheduled time. This was incredibly frustrating and a waste of my time. If an appointment is confirmed, it should be honored — or at the very least, I should have been notified in advance if there was an issue. Very disappointed with how this was handled.

Honestly a little leery of going to a franchise car place but they also do tire rotations. So, needing an oil change, yes I can do that myself, but I do not have the garage tools to do a tire rotation efficiently. So gave Pep Boys a chance since they can do both.
Pleased with the experience. Wasn't outragedly expensive (found coupons online). dropped off at 3:30 and got a text it was ready at 4:37 and the tracker link I received when I left my key said it would be done by 6, so better than the estimate. Very probable I'll use them in the future.

The Pep Boys technicians are very professional and knowledgeable. They explain everything that needs to be done and they are able to give you upfront costs. I have been going to Pep Boys for the past 6 years and they have provided service on 3 vehicles. I will continue to rely on these guys for good work and maintenance on my vehicles.
