I gave them my 6.0 short block that I tore apart myself it was a bear block. They told me it would take two months but they could get it done sooner after one month they had barely just washed the block and At eight weeks we’re starting to order parts and start the machining process it took me 10 weeks to get a standard 6.0 ls short block rebuilt for $4000. They ripped me off and took way too long. Every time I asked them when it would be done he was very short and had no idea when when it was going to be done.Save your money, don’t go there.

I have a 1969 Barracuda powered by a 1973 318 block with 1967 273 heads. In all my research I felt my best course of action was to have my cast-iron heads reworked and opened up for better flow. Ray did the work for me opened up valves from 1.78 and 1.50 to 1.94 and 1.6, polished the bowls, installed lighter weight valves, and 320 pounds springs. I replaced the stamped rockers with PRW 1.5 roller rockers. This was during Covid and there were some delays because of illness but wow did these really open up my engine for horsepower! After the work the car was dyno'd with 230 hp and 280 foot pounds of torque at the wheels. Very pleased with the work they do here!

These guys are as bad as it gets. I have been doing cars for 50 years and have never been ripped off like this. Long story short they did not put a new oil pump in on a complete expensive total rebuild when I asked them to. Standard practice. They insisted my old one wasa good. 20 minutes run time and the oil pump tore apart and took out the whole short block and I now have to go to another shop for a total rebuild STAY AWAY THEY ARENOT GOOD PEOPLE

All the guys who used to make this place great are gone. Sad shell of what it used to be. Good luck even speaking to someone there now.

To start I'm extremely unhappy with there work. My pistons still have build up on them. I can scrape it off with my finger and a little steel wool. I was told it would take a week and it took over a month. Every time I called to get a end date I was told " I don't know there where others here before you". He was also very short and disrespectful well talking to him. There over priced aswell. I will never recommend or return!

Basco rebuilt my LS2 race engine a few years ago when I spun a bearing. Their work was top notch. I also had a snapped ARP rocker stud in one of my head's which they got out for no charge

I had a 6.0 Powerstroke that needed some work. David gave me a phone quote of "about $2500 - $3500" and I sent the engine to them to get a written quote. They disassembled it without my permission, beat the pistons out with a steel bar, dropped the crankshaft and cracked it. They then quoted me almost $7K to rebuild a motor that had a simple blown head gasket. When I balked and wanted the engine back they charged me $546 as an "inspection" fee. Manager Ray has left the company and was replaced by David. Ray will be sorely missed. I used to highly recommend them. Now I tell people to find another shop.

Recently had Basko inspect and resurface heads in my Honda Odyssey. After inspected they said valves were optional but "would be fine for a while". After getting heads back and reassembling, the engine would not start. Called shop and now they changed their tune saying valves were required. Very disappointed by the miscommunication wasting dozens of hours. They said it wasn't their fault. Will not use them again.
