I have NEVER been treated so poorly by an employee in my life.
This was my first visit to 5 and Below and I may never go back.
After being in the store for 40 minutes, an employee started walking up and down the main aisle saying “40 minutes! We close in 40 minutes.” This was repeated 10 minutes later, then another 10 minutes later.
We went to stand in line but the line wasn’t moving because they only had ONE register open.
After standing in line for 6-7 minutes, the same employee yelled “4 minutes!”
When the person in front of us was getting their stuff bagged, he looked at those of us in line and smugly said “Stores closed!”
We were dumbfounded.
The lady behind us said “yeah and we’ve been waiting in line this whole time. You mean we can’t check out?”
He said “We still have a till to count!”
Even if we’d stood in line earlier, we still wouldn’t have been able to check out
We walked away from everything that we had taken the time to gather. Over $100 worth of items.
The employee who had been checking people out apologized to us as we left saying “I’m sorry. I was trying to hurry to get to you.”
I was just dumbfounded.
A whole hour wasted! Because some employee was in a hurry to be somewhere else?
I’ve had to count many tils in my life and it’s never been done at the expense of a paying customer.

I'm giving 1 star because of the checkout experience. They have all self checkouts but you aren't allowed to use them. Apparently an employee has to do it. Then hire some people. We stood there and the girl was preoccupied on her radio and no one was being helped so we put our stuff down and left. Won't be going back.

LOVE this location! this store always brings me and my son so much joy! they have a great variety of items from toys, decor, dog supplies, clothing, electronics, crafts, candy, and much more. everything is so affordable $5 or less on most items. bigger items/ electronics can be as high as $10 but even then it’s always such a steal.

Had to go into 2 different five below's, I have decided that I will no longer shop at any of them. You can no longer check yourself out. I get that because of thieves, unfortunately the good suffer for the bad. Where my problem is, they charge you .5 cents a bag. I absolutely refuse to pay for a bag in America!

Never had a bad experience here. My kids and I love coming here on the weekends or just to kill some time. They have so many things in here that everyone can find something they like. Most times, we never leave empty-handed and we love checking out what new items they put out. The employees are nice and do accommodate the public if they need to use the bathroom or have any questions. The self check isn't bothersome (cashier assists) and to be honest makes the transaction faster. They do charge 5 cents per bag, but they tell you ahead of time to make sure you know in case you would rather not use a plastic bag. In my opinion it's as clean as it can be due to the numerous people that come into the store. We will continue to come to this store so we don't miss out on any great deals.

I’ve been coming to this location for 2 years and it’s literally one of my guilty pleasures. Unfortunately, today I was forced to stand at self check while someone checked my items in front of me for “theft prevention” purposes. Even though I understand, it’s still uncomfortable and defeated the purpose of self check out. I should have been shown to the register if thats the case, it also forced an awkward interaction between the cashier and myself.. I really wasn’t in a social mood which is why I went to self check out.. to add icing to the cake they are now charging for bags. Not sure if the quality of my zip code went down recently and I’m not aware lol but I don’t want to shop at this location until they find a better theft prevention solution.

Honestly this store is very unorganized. There shirt were all over and not folded. The isles had items all over the place. And it was hard to find things. The need to get a better organization system or more workers.
