I took my truck to JR transmissions last summer to fix my AC . Another shop
told me it was something else and that it would cost me a lot of money.
JR diagnosed it and he quickly found out the re problem. They repaired it
in no time. It was quick and inexpensive and
(it’s still blowing cold.) I appreciated it so much.
They were very professional and I would highly recommend them.

The biggest downfall with the shop us they are very busy and sometimes hard to get a hold of. They are busy because of the quality of the work they do and in the end look out for their customers.

They went above and beyond what you would expect from a shop. They referred me to a tow company, who was great. Communication was good, pricing seems fair, and transmission so far is working well.

“The whole story”
I am not the original customer as noted in my original post. JR completed the rebuild on the transmission on 02/15/2024, with 183103 miles as noted on the invoice I have from JR . The truck currently has 194562 miles. So NOT 3+ yrs ago as you noted and less than 13k miles as I originally estimated. I originally reached out to JR on Jan 22, 2025 (within the 1yr mark). To explain the situation. Was told to reach back out when it was ava to be looked @. I reached out several times with no response from JR. Fact is I gave JR every opportunity to make this situation right or to at least have a conversation about it, and they choose to ignore it and only respond once a negative review was posted. That is not, in my opinion the way a business should be run regardless of who the original customer was. Someone spent good money in your shop. Yes, the truck has a turbo. This truck is not a race truck. It was built as a tow vehicle. I know this due to knowing the original owner & builder of the truck, hence 1 of the reason I purchased the truck from the 2nd owner, whom you charge almost $4k to rebuild the transmission. The truck was built with an open check book using only the best parts and shops in the valley. So, saying the turbo kit install had anything to do with the transmission issue is misleading and un factual. The fact is the issue was due to an incorrect seal being placed into the transmission and causing the issue. Something only the builder of the transmission could have done
Bought a truck that JR did a transmission rebuild on it. Truck did roughly 13k miles before the transmission lost 2nd gear. Reached out to JR to have them look at it. Was told to reach out when the truck was ready to be looked at due to having some other work done on it. Reached out on multiple occasions. Left no less than 3 voice mails over a 1 week period. No return calls! Ended up having another shop tear down the trans and found a faulty seal cause the 2nd gear clutch to burn up. This tells me they do not stand by their work or even want to deal with possible warranty issues.

We highly recommend JR Transmission! While traveling through Phoenix, our transmission completely went out. Jason gave us excellent advice, fixed us up, and got us on the road again. Jason came highly recommended and the reviews below reveal why. Jason even called us a few days after to check up on us. Thanks again Jason for helping us out during a difficult time.

Great place to get your car fix. I'm from Utah and I was visiting Phoenix. When my car transmission broke down. I took it over here to get it fixed, less 5 days my car is fixed. I got my AC recharge and went back to Utah. JR was cool and told wen what was wrong with me car and got it fixed

I have a 72 jimmy 4x4 restomod. Tranmission was making all kinds of noise. I called JR first and left a message. Then I called some more shops to get their opinions on my problem. They all said bring it in Yada Yada Yada. JR called me bad later that afternoon and asked what I had and wanted to hear what was going on with the truck so I told him. He was knowledgeable enough to know exactly what my problem was told me exactly what I needed to do and solved my problem in about 30 sec. Obviously not all problems can be fixed over the phone, but thanks to JR my frustration came to a quick end. 7 yrs of pinching pennies and restoring my dream truck and I finally drove it today. Thanks a million

Great experience. We needed our transmission repaired, and instead of repairing it through our mechanic (which any way sub contracts the job) we searched for a transmission shop. Happy we found JR on Google. We saved a lot of money doing it this way and not through the mechanic shop.

Fantastic!
I had taken my vehicle to another shop for what should have been a routine clutch replacement.
After test driving their initial work,
there was a loud vibration upon acceleration that wasn't there before. I was then told it needed a new transmission, and then they could not get it to start...and then this...and then that.
This went on for several months, until I realized they had all but
abandoned the car in the parking lot. So, needless to say, they are definitely not the most reliable transmission shop in Arizona.
After discovering JR Transmissions, I had the vehicle towed here,
and they began piecing back together a puzzle of incompetence left by the first shop. I truly thought it would never drive the same again. I've had the car back a few months now, and honestly, the manual trans is actually better than it ever was! Even the slight idiosyncrasies it had before are gone. I can't say enough about the level of knowledge and expertise, and have since started bringing our other vehicles here.
