Store is clean and in most cases good customer service good. Still do not have enough cashiers to accommodate customers. Food prices fair.

I've lived next to this Safeway for over 20 years. In the past 5 years, at least, they have become loss prevention obsessed. Some examples of many: I went in 8 months pregnant, got a cart full of items, and stopped by tea section because I was having new pregnancy discomfort that I thought tea might help, but I don't normally drink tea so I apparently looked too long and magically a well dressed employee came, said nothing to me at all, and moved in front of me to start urgently rearranging the untouched tea section. Their fear that I would shoplift tea was more important than helping a pregnant, regular customer who obviously had a cart of items to buy. Another time I walked my baby to the store from my home, went in with baby in stroller, and was urgently followed by 2 loss prevention employees carrying tablets that had video. They were darting around corners to cut me off and it was awkward and obvious. Apparently shopping with a stroller is extra scary for them. But again, why am I treated like a criminal when I've done nothing and some of the cashier's know my face and family from being a regular and I give you my number with name and address every time I'm in. How scary. Even worse examples: My Hispanic husband was once asked if he stole empty Danziesen milk jugs when trying to turn them back in for a bottle refund. It's milk bottles, who did he steal them from? And then the newest item today is what is prompting me to finally write a review...once again when he tried to return Danziesen bottles he was told he can't return without a receipt. The employee then claimed this was Danziesen's new policy. Well, I emailed Danziesen, cause it's not hard to and they are a lovely local company, and they confirmed this is not their policy and they hope to make the bottle process easy for consumers. So Safeway is throwing a local company under the bus to try to pass blame for their own policy. Consumers would be less likely to buy Danziesen products at any store because of what Safeway is claiming. They must have big loss issues at that store, but treating regular, neighborhood customers and local vendors poorly to compensate is horrible practice. We avoid this store whenever possible even tho it's literally walking distance.

I shopped here 2-4 times a week spending $25-$80+ each visit. Yesterday, I thanked the female who had bagged my groceries. She gave me a dirty look and said "Yup".. If she hates her job and passes that on to your customers then a change needs to be made. I decided returned all of the groceries and went to Frys. Safeway and Albertsons has lost my business thanks to this person.

For this store to be high you guys really need to look at your food!! There is no way mold should be in a closed container of soup!! This is very disappointing mind you I just got this and went to the store today!! NEVER AGAIN!!

Mike at checkout was so kind and helped explain to me how to use the App. I was thankful because there was a $100 off digital coupon I wanted to use on a patio set. Frank did a super job loading the table in our truck and Shane was so great in getting us checked out. It was delightful to experience excellent customer service all around. Thank you!!

Customer service here has been steadily going downhill and prices keep going up. Tonight, I took my daughter for sweets but left my phone at home. I approached the manager and asked if he could help with a digital coupon since I did not have my phone but did have my Safeway club card. He rudely said, "we have been informed not to help with digital coupons anymore." I repeated that I left my phone at home and asked if there was anything he could to help. His response was, "no, but your phone will be there when you get home." I'm done with this Safeway after this interaction and will shop at Fry's moving forward.

This is one of the best stores for high quality, inexpensive dark chocolate!! Because the chocolate is in bins, I can choose as little or as much as I want of various kinds of dark chocolate candy.

Sorry; but I have to agree with 'Jeremy J' and say, 'Go to Frys @ 59th & 101, it is only 1 mile'. I have lived closer to Safeway @ 67th & 101 for almost 20 years. I have seen changes as expected; but ironically the young staff are much nicer and courteous than all of the staff older than20 years old ! True! Except for 'Marcia of customer service desk'! She is always nice. The other older staff are just rude! I cannot say anything more except they ALL seem like zombies and NOT happy to be there. Just awful customer service from them all the time the past 20 years. Like I say, the younger school kid type employees are the only ones nice. Shame on you older staff! You are awful and I believe in 'Karma' & it will visit all you meanies one day

I am 63 years old. This is the worst store I have ever been in. Almost every time they overcharge me. Check your receipts very carefully or STAY AWAY. RIPOFF STORE.

The store opens at 0600 hours. About 0640 we got to the register with about $150 in groceries. We asked a manager if they could open a lane and she said no and walked away. One of the employees called 3x for someone to come ring us up. When the guy came to ring us up he was rude. We will go to Frys.

This was a painful store to shop before they put in the self checkout lanes. You could always count on it to be slow through the line- even though the employees are super nice and accommodating. There just seems to be a lot of customers in the store who have an issue when they get to checkout. Now that those worries are over I find myself in the store more due to the Rona. The deli is close to the door so I feel like I'm not spending a lot of time and mingling around a bunch of people when I pop in for a demi sesame loaf and some of the house smoked ham at the deli counter. This is a recent discovery for me - this store smokes delicious ham over applewood and slices it as thin as you like. Some of their sesame bread plus the ham with Düsseldorf mustard and I call that lunch, pal. There is a Starbucks inside and their produce section is always nice and neat. It's not the biggest Safeway around but improvements have been made over the nearly ten years I've been an occasional shopper at this store and it's lookin up at the ole Waysafe!

PRICE GOUGING - COVID19 - astonishingly bad attitude by the Site Director - Kim. The store had multiple 1.5L - 12 - packs of Smart Water on the shelf. I tried to purchase a single case, leaving the other cases for other customers. Register didn't recognize case price. Clerk was polite and advised the case wouldn't scan; and that it happened before and they were instructed to charge the single bottle price and not the case price. He sent me to CS, who said the same things. CS advised it was a mistake those cases should not be out. Instead they are selling by the individual bottle @ $2.99 each v case price. Obviously making more money for the store. I asked if she could get the manager over please. The Site Director - Kim assumed I wanted the case at the individual price. I advised I didn't want the whole case at the individual bottle price; I wanted a case price for a case and not a case at the price of 12 individual bottles. She had an attitude from the beginning. When I advised that CS said that the stock person was told to open the cases so they could be sold individually at a higher price; Kim stormed off, waving her arm dismissively, saying "I'm just not going to sell it to you." I said I felt like the store was trying to rip off customers by selling at a higher price. This was astonishing as we've been shopping here for many years. It proves that trying times can bring out the worst in managers and companies or the best. Sad to say it was the worst in this case. Safeway leadership should be embarrassed.

Just a helpful bit of advice the seafood/meat area in the back closes at 8PM sharp. Don't go back there ordering past then because it will take really long since the employees are cleaning and sterilizing the equipment for the morning crew.

Well stocked, friendly, helpful employees that quickly accommodate and actually physically show you where items are rather than lazily giving vague directions, never a long wait at the checkout. Parking lot can be a little crazy.
