The food was 3/5 especially for the prices. There atmosphere was ok but again for the price I wasn't especially blown away. The real saving grace was our server Charlie! He was kind, efficient and attentive. If I ever go bank it'll be because of Charlie.

Authentic Mexican Cuisine with Exceptional ServiceReview:I recently had the pleasure of dining at de la Cruz Mexican restaurant in Gold Canyon, Arizona, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality by our waitress, Petee. She promptly attended to our table, offering complimentary chips and salsa, setting the tone for a delightful meal.Opting for salads, my client and I were pleasantly surprised by the freshness and vibrant flavors of our dishes. Each bite was a testament to the chef's dedication to quality ingredients and culinary expertise. Dining al fresco, we enjoyed the perfect weather while savoring every mouthful. What truly stood out was the efficiency of service; our food arrived promptly and was served with care.Petee's attentive and friendly demeanor enhanced our dining experience, making us feel welcomed and valued.Overall, I highly recommend de la Cruz Mexican restaurant to anyone seeking authentic Mexican cuisine served with exceptional hospitality.Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and visit this gem in Gold Canyon.

It seems that both the servers and the kitchen were overwhelmed tonight. The ahi tuna tacos were overcooked (nearly gray all the way through, almost no pink) and largely flavorless. Rice was hardly above room temperature. Guac dip was decent, but a fairly small portion.Large chunks of time without a refill or check in by the server. Significant delay in receiving our food. I appreciate that the kitchen sent out my 7yo son's food ahead of everyone else's, but that meant he was done eating by the time the rest of us, including his 4yo sister, received our food.

We are nearby residents and have been to this restaurant many times, with and without Guests. It used to be a great place, good food, great service and above all, instilled patron confidence that every visit would be consistent. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case at De La Cruz Mexican Grille. Food is either very good or horribly overcooked (I had rubberized Shrimp). The wait staff tries very hard to provide excellent service, but they suffer the backlash of angry customers in words and diminished tips...it's not their fault! The Kitchen seems to have the problem. Last night, we waited 15 minutes to be seated while a few Patio and interior tables were open. We finally sat down, got our drinks, placed our order, watched our server enter our order, and finally received our meals 1 hour and 5 minutes later!! We were NOT the only ones...customers were walking out on ordered meals because of the delays. We asked to speak with the Manager and learned they didn't have one. Too bad, for this restaurant...they may get the problems worked, I hope they do. But, for now, I'm not taking that chance again, especially if we're entertaining Guests!! If you decide to visit this restaurant, fingers crossed you get them on a very slow day so the kitchen can keep up!!

If I could make this a -negative star review I would. Tonight we had a family dinner tonight with people from out of town and boy was that a mistake. In all honesty I would have rather taken them to Taco Bell and they would run circles around them. Let me start off with we had been sat for approximately 20min and finally got our drink orders in luckily we had placed our food order at the same time or who knows how long we would have taken. Next when we got our dishes the rice was beyond salty not edible their excuse was it was made at a location in Mesa not in house. Then one of our guest orders got messed up instead of correcting it right away she wanted to make sure we made the mistake which we didn’t then her excuse was the cooks are new and made our guest wait an additional 15-20min . Lastly we asked for the bill and I requested that at least the side of rice we order for a baby be deducted since it was not edible some sort of rectifying act NOPE. she stated that she “asked” the manager, manager never came out to speak to us but manager said no. Ok fine we will simply not be returning. May I add $24 for a shrimp chile relleno that contained of ONE chile relleno, salty AF rice and meh beans. Yeah never setting foot here again DO NOT RECOMMEND

Dining outside was a treat. The generous bowl Caulde Azteca soup was delicious. Waitstaff was attentive and gracious. Parking was easy. As a single woman traveling alone, I felt safe both in the parking area and inside of the restaurant.

Terrible service, even after we rsvp. No chips and salsa for the first 20 minutes. Had to walk to bar to get water and drinks. Saw our waitress 1x to take our order waited 35 min for food as we saw others after us get served. Never got our food after a full hour we left. Was not busy, plenty of empty tables.

I'm going to have to give high five here. Pricey? Yeah, maybe but aren't they all these days? Wife and I shared a fajita and it was delicious. We really liked their salsa. Salsa can be hit or miss but this one has a perfect blend of ingredients and a delicious hint of cilantro. We ate outdoor on the patio. I think they could replace a few of the tables but they were clean so that's what is most important. Server was Luke. He was excellent.

Very small place that can get crowded we saw. We ate on patio that was shut down after rain storm so we were not in the crowd. Very accommodating and food was good but not our Mex style. Nice Views!
