While staying in Goodyear we went to this Y. They offered a weekly Chair Yoga class. We enjoyed the instructor. The front desk was very helpful getting our membership into the national Y so we could attend classes. It is a very nice Y seems newer. Too bad they only have a weekly class. Thank you

I work with my trainer, Analisha, from the Southwest Branch in Goodyear,, AZ. I have worked with her for at least three years. Analisha is extremely knowledgeable about the muscles and physiology which is extremely important for me as I am a senior. She incorporates weight training along with aerobic type exercises. Analisha is what makes going to the YMCA both enjoyable and productive health-wise.

The location of this facility is remarkably convenient, nestled near the Wigwam golf course within a safe and bustling neighborhood. It offers easy access to stores and libraries, making it even more attractive. A notable aspect is the engagement of many members who bring their children to partake in the early child learning program and the drop-in Child Watch service while they engage in their fitness routines. Here are several noteworthy aspects of this location:Dedicated and Supportive Staff: The commitment and helpfulness of the entire staff, from Fred and Nick to the entire team, have been consistently outstanding. Whether at the front desk or in the kids' room, the staff members exude warmth and a sincere welcome for both members and families.Fantastic Group Fitness Classes: The variety of group fitness classes available here is impressive. The classes are designed to accommodate diverse age groups, from 5-year-old kids to those who are 99 years old(or older). Instructors Mary and Robin infuse energy and motivation, ensuring each session is enjoyable and effective.Youth Development Activities: Beyond fitness, a wide array of youth development activities, including dance crews and summer camps, enrich the offerings. The year-round availability of swimming classes and the open pool further enhance the options.Early Child Learning Program: The management of the early child learning program is nothing short of exceptional. The program's organization and structure are commendable, reflecting the effort invested in creating a nurturing environment.Thoughtful Amenities: The provision of shades in both the parking lot and pool areas is a thoughtful touch. This feature offers crucial sun protection, especially during the scorching Arizona summers. However, it's worth acknowledging that this location can become quite bustling, particularly during the peak times of summer camps. This might lead to occasional noise and finding oneself amidst groups of energetic children. Additionally, the showering facility appears slightly outdated and could benefit from an upgrade.

What a great environment for families! All my boys absolutely love going to the Y. I have 2 teen boys that love being going to the Summer Teen Camp and Leadership in Training. While my kids could have stayed home during the summer, I really didn't want them just sitting at home playing video games, with the camps/leadership they are surrounded by friends and mentors. Its a great place for them to have friends and just hang out in a safe environment! Thank you to the staff for all that you do for the kiddos!

The pool "looked" clean the entire time. 1.Did my kids got sick all at the same time next day? yes! Sick with high fevers and soar throats. 2. I got a 'month to month' membership that I just wanted for one month and canceled the same day to avoid getting charged for another month, but they were "forcing" me to pay for the second month. None of the employees/volunteers was able to help me on that matter. 3. On each visit the lifeguards would ask us (my kids) for the non-swimmers red bands, that were very visible, but still they would ask. It was annoying. 4. The pool manager, this guy! came to me one day asking me if my kid's life-vest were Coast Guard Approved. I politely answer yes, then told him that EVERY child life-vest IS Coast Guard Approved, is a standard now. I had to pull my 3 and 6 year old out of the water, removed their life-vest so he can "see and approved" the vest. Not to mention they were both crying thinking that we were done for the day. 5. Last week we were ready to head to the pool, and half way they stopped us from going in because they were having a summer camp activity.Last year and this year has been the worst experience there for my family. You can probably say, that you've been a member for your entire life, and thats awesome and I'm happy for you, but this is my experience. As a father, I would try another soak-activity for your kiddos, and avoid place. Try a park with splash pad, get a slip and slide, or a kids pool. You're Welcome.

I have been a member here for years and love it! It is a great place for real people. People of all ages mix comfortably in the gym and the gorgeous Olympic size pool. My favorite thing is that every summer I put my boys on the summer rec swim team and then I spend the same time in the pool in water fitness classes. The instructors are great and the company is wonderful! What better way to beat the heat than by working out in the pool? The staff is friendly and helpful and, as a teacher, it is my favorite place to decompress on my summer break and do a little self care.

I signed my 5 year old daughter up for the Silver Fins swimming team. She was doing okay but for some reason the team made her practice at 7pm to 7:45pm. That is too late for a 5 year old to be swimming at night. I am disappointed in the facility for letting anyone walk through the check point. They have broken showers with mold on them. I don’t usually give a one star review but YMCA West Valley in Goodyear has earned it. One star for being broken, unclean and unsafe.
