DO NOT ADOPT FROM HERE. PLEASE READ.My parents went in so excited to adopt this beautiful puppy and my parents are just sweethearts they treat their animals like they are their own children. My mom had her eyes set on this cute puppy. They made a phone call and were told to head over to the animal league. (there’s literally no point in going because they don’t let you bond with the animals unless you’ve already adopted it) After a few questions with my parents everything seemed to go well until they asked if my parents worked. My dad said yes but that my mom was only gone for 4 hours throughout the entire day and that my grandma would pet sit for them until my mom’s shift was over. The lady completely shut them down right away after that, said “Well if you would have told me that over the phone, I wouldn’t have made you come down here.” with lots of attitude. Told them that they couldn’t adopt the dog because they need someone home with them 24 hours a day…RIDICULOUS. we have always had pets and we know very well how to take care of them especially a husky which we had cared for before in the past. she began to get rude with them and say that they can adopt but that they can’t adopt “THIS DOG” and proceeded to ask them if they wanted to adopt a cat instead???? I’m furious especially because my parents are the sweetest. They were so confused on why this lady was treating them the way she was and I am so mad. like we as a family are so understanding and we were and would have been but to be rude for NO reason?! like what is your problem?! So there goes a puppy who needed a great home to live in that was turned away because my family works…. SHAME ON YOU. It is because of you INHUMANE lady with such hatred that these dogs here aren’t getting adopted?! well screw you…i’m very disappointed.

Adopted two kitties. We are so happy that Willowy and Two Face are part of the family. Animal League of Green Valley is a wonderful place to adopt a wonderful addition to a family.

My long term experience has not been pleasant here. I was lied too, discriminated against, and had so sympathy or empathy towards my situation. “Foster parents get first say on if they want to adopt” is a complete lie.Kareen, kim, and Sue are accountable.

The ladies there were the nicest people ever! I brought some kittens there and I trust that they'll go to a good home.

We showed up later in the day. The ladies in the car area were very kind and accommodating of my girls' high energy. The site was well maintained and we were able to meet and bring home the newest member of our family.

Very clean and well organized shelter. Lots of nice dogs and cats up for adoption if you're looking.

They denied me from rescuing a kitten due to the fact of me wanting to give the cat a better life and to take the cat out for walks(on a leash). They said they do not want "their" cats outside. So while they are packed full of cats and kittens, doing a 2 for 1 deal trying to get rid of them, they will deny you if you want to let your cat outside and enjoy life even a little bit

Never been here before, I didn't realize they closed at 2. My boyfriend and I decided to walk around and look at the cats and the ladies who worked with cats were so nice and told us we could walk around outside and look. I left a 1 star review because we walked a little farther down to look at the dogs. My boyfriend asked a lady what breed some of the dogs were and she flat out said she didn't know. We continued to look and the lady then made a comment that they closed at 2, it was about 2:10. She obviously didn't want us there. Really bad experience, apparently there is no such thing as being kind anymore. Apparently walking around outside really bothered them. I was really interested in adopting a dog and/or cat but not after being treated so rudely. You would think the volunteers would enjoy what they are doing.

I've read reviews posted here and I have to agree with some reviews that some volunteers work there do play petty power games with you. They go beyond concerns for the pet you want's welfare and become rude. Some of them are excellent, helpful volunteers at the same time. Be mentally prepared when you go there. Don't let the over fussy old volunteers who seen to be working there a long time. They seem to get their pleasure out of playing games with you. Do take friends with you so they can't intimidate or ignore your concerns.

Great animals looking for a family. Well run shelter. Volunteers working here have big hearts. Very large facility. Animals here are well loved. Hours the shelter is open are limited to 10 am to 2 pm.
