Be careful. This guy has some anger management issues. He went from relatively normal to hair's on fire crazy with no provocation.

I am so happy to have met the Bike Doc. What an amazing and generous man. I am so appreciative of all his knowledge and concern for our safety. His personal service and dedication were outstanding. I would highly recommend using his service. I look forward to riding my ebike around town.ETA - It saddens me to see a couple (one recently updated) negative reviews. Having worked with the public my whole career, I am reminded that you can never please some people. I sincerely hope the Bike Doc ignores the childlike temper tantrum and ignorant reviews and continues to serve our community. We are blessed to have him.

We were on a multi-day cycling trip around the area and passed though Green Valley. A check of the internet for a bike shop that might be available to charge batteries for my dads e-bike showed us "The Bike Doc". The location looked odd (in a residential neighborhood) so we called ahead to see if it would be ok to charge batteries. When we arrived we were met by a genuinely wonderful man who got my dad set up to charge his batteries while we went to eat and resupply. During this time we were able to check out his bike repair shop in a sweet customized van. Its not all this time that you meet someone like this man that has genuine passion for what he does in the would and obviously believes in the quality of his work. I don't know Beau, "The Bike Docs" whole story but I am glad to have crossed paths with him and happy to see that there are people like him out there in today's world.

The bike doctor got me out of a jam on short notice when I needed one of my crank arms rethreaded while I was on a bike tour. He made time to not only fix the crank arm but also gave the bike a thorough tune-up with great attention to detail. He adjusted the brake system so it was braking smoothly and securely, and gave a great explanation while he was working on what needed to be fixed and what didn't, and why he was making different adjustments. I was very appreciative of all the work he did on my bike and it's clear he is a skilled and conscientious mechanic. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and I would highly recommended this to anyone who wants your bike treated with care!

Have to rate “Bike Doc” with 5 stars. Beau really knows his business and is totally thorough with maintenance issues. Took my eBike in for faulty brakes and picked it up the next day with a full maintenance and new, properly adjusted brakes. He also wanted to see my posture (poor) as I’m new to eBike riding. Service like this is hard to find! Thank you Beau!

On 3 November 2023 I took my mountain bike to “The Bike Doc” at his place of residence in Green Valley to have my left hydraulic brake bled and refilled with brake fluid. The previous day I had described to him in a phone call the work I was requesting on my left brake (the right brake was fine). After arrival at his residence he began to inquire about the age of the bike components and he began a diatribe about how he does not work on any bike unless he does a 100% safety inspection. He proceeded to tell me that my brakes probably needed to be replaced and possibly other drivetrain components as well. During his diatribe he made a statement that “…if I missed a shift I could kill myself…”. In reality the Shimano XT/XTR components that are on my bike are extremely reliable and durable despite their age (approximately 23 years in service) and any mechanic worth his salt could see that the fix to the left brake was a simple bleed and refill, and that any concern with shifting the gears on the bike could easily be addressed with a simple adjustment. In my experience when a mechanic immediately begins to suggest parts replacement to any piece of equipment as the solution to a mechanical issue it is because they do not have the knowledge, skills, or experience to diagnose a particular malfunction and repair it. Thus, as the interaction with “The Bike Doc” progressed it became clear to me that he had no idea what he was looking at or how to repair the brake, or much less adjust the drivetrain for any perceived issue with how it was shifting. Thus, he abruptly and rudely thrust the bike back to me. I took my bike and walked off and I made a comment that I was sorry to have wasted his time. After making that comment “The Bike Doc” unleased a torrent of obscenities directed at me personally and I responded that he needed to keep his comments to himself. He then charged at me into the public street and chest bumped me and repeatedly shouted in my face that he dared me to hit him! Despite his completely unwarranted and highly threatening aggression I calmly proceeded to strap down my bike to my bike rack and I got in my vehicle. After entering my vehicle I observed in my rear view mirror “The Bike Doc” hitting my bike with his hand (or at least that is what I thought he was doing at the time—more explanation on that point below). I then proceeded to take my bike directly to Sky Island Bikes in Tucson and the shop owner quickly and efficiently addressed the brake and shifting issue with a bleed and refill and minor lubrication and adjustment. Thus, no expensive and time consuming parts replacement was required as stated by “The Bike Doc”. I have subsequently ridden my bike over all forms of desert terrain and it has performed flawlessly, as I knew it would with some simple maintenance and adjustment actions. Upon arrival at Sky Island Bikes I noted that my bike was not strapped down to my bike rack and in fact had been free floating on the entire drive from Green Valley to Tucson. I have a theory as to how my bike came to be free floating on the bike rack, but I will let anyone reading this review draw their own conclusion. Given the nature of this incident and “The Bike Doc’s” completely unwarranted and threatening aggression against me as a potential customer visiting his place of work/residence I have filed a complaint against him with the Pima County Sheriff’s Office. No doubt if “The Bike Doc” does respond he will make some comment(s) about him being a Vietnam veteran. On this point I will clarify that I am well familiar with the Vietnam War and its impacts on individuals and the country, and I joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1976 and served for 23 years.

Glad to learn he was open on a Sunday, I drove over to discover he works from his home. Unfortunately when there was no answer at the door, he informed me service was by appointment only and so I was asked to return in a couple hours. Happily I agreed. Basically he refused to fix my tire unless I went back home again and brought him the bike! Which would've meant three trips to his location--unacceptable. That seemed odd, as if he were planning to add a bunch of charges, since he deemed my brakes "unsafe" sight unseen. He scolded me for using the wrong oil. Untrue. From there he wouldn't even talk about the flat. My 90-year old Father stood his ground and tried to find out if he would fix the tire or not. This bike guy started shouting for us to get off his property. Very rude. I was frightened and already in the car and this guy was still yelling, totally inappropriate and weird. If you want to make several calls and several trips to his house, AND be disrespected and yelled at for no good reason, plus probably be overcharged for parts and repairs you do not need, then this individual is just for you. Good luck.

I wanted the torque settings checked on my brand new Lectric bike. I called the day before and he told me he could fit me in the next day. While on the phone he questioned me as to why I bought a Lectric bike and didn't I know he was the local rep for RAD electric bikes and I should have bought one of those. I told him I had been unaware of that, but nevertheless I still needed the torque settings checked. He then questioned me for about 15 minutes as to why hadn't I read the directions ( which I had), and if I had there should be no reason for him to check. Well, I am a single woman with not all the tools known to mankind in my toolbox, so I simply asked if he was willing to do it or not. He told me to come in the next day. I rode the bike to his home/shop. He was standing on his front walkway when I rode up. I asked where he would like me to bring the bike? As I started to roll the bike in the direction he indicated, he put up his arm in a stop movement and asked, Where is your mask? Since it was a full 18 months after the pandemic began, I had been vaccinated, and no place of business was requiring masks anymore I told him I didn't have one with me. He then started yelling that he wasn't any other business and he requires masks I told him he should have informed me of that the day before on the phone. At that point he totally lost it, started calling me names and yelling that I was stupid for not wearing a mask I calmly turned my bike around and rode off the whole time he continued waving his arms and yelling at me. He is a control freak who has serious anger management issues... A raving bully!

Doc is the most caring and thorough bike repair expert I have ever met. He repairs bikes because it isn't work to him. He is passionate about the satisfaction and safety of his customers, and rightfully so, takes great pride in his work. My daughter and I took an electric bike in to him that was long overdue for maintenance. And he got its brakes and gears, and it fitted to her, likely better than the day she bought it, and taught her about it's maintenance and riding safety. Highly recommended ***** He also has a warranty on his work and will make adjustments for free after a certain number of miles.

Beau is without a doubt in the top one percent of bike repair technicians. He tuned up my Rad step through which had 350O miles on it. Now it is like riding a brand new bike. It shifts smoothly, it pedals cleanly, and his handlebar adjustment is so ergonomically correct. Thank you, Beau, for a superlative job. You’re , for sure, a keeper!!!

I ordered an Lectric eTrike from Lectric Bikes, Phoenix, AZ. As someone whose mobility, strength, and dexterity is challenged, I am no longer able to uncrate, assemble and tune an eTrike myself. I contacted Beau Gerard, the Bike Doc of Green Valley, and made arrangements for the eTrike to be shipped directly to him.Beau received shipment and completed assembly within a week, making the extra effort, and taking the extra time to contact the factory regarding damage issues caused by transport. As of this writing I am working on an amicable resolve to the damage issues with Lectric Bikes, and Beau continues to lend support by communicating directly with the factory in the capacity of "expert witness." In my communication with Lectric Bikes, the factory stated they really appreciated Beau's participation due to his experience and expertise in support of my claim. In addition to assembling the eTrike and communicating with Lectric Bikes on my behalf, Beau "thorn proofed" the 3 tires with liners and "slime," to accommodate local road conditions. His charge for services rendered? Very reasonable, and includes a follow up inspection and adjustments at 350 miles. Two friends who recently visited, who are avid cyclists, concurred that price charged and services rendered by the Bike Doc are better than they receive in Tucson. I can, without reservations, give a 5 star rating to Beau Gerard, the Bike Doc of Green Valley.

Thanks for the excellent tuneup on my 25+ Morobecane bicycle. The adjustment you made on the handlebars and the brake levers make riding so much more enjoyable. It’s like a brand new ride!
