- No Keys:We only stayed overnight and we were only able to go out as a family once because one has to be able to open the door for the other. The only way you can go in was to use a master key which you have to get in the front desk- No room service:We have a baby, a toddler, and a bunch of stuffs and no one out of the 5 people in front of a single computer they have in the front desk was able to offer assistance- No customer service:We carried all of the stuffs mentioned above to the third floor and down to our room on the second floor due to inaccessible construction area. They didn’t explain it to us that we are not gonna get a key. The instruction was just we only have to follow a girl as she’ll open the door of our room for us. I have to go back to the same way we went through, up to the third floor and back to the ground to find that unfortunate news. Then, the other lady in the front desk told me that apparently we can go through the construction zone so we only need to go a single flight of stairs. Unbelievable! Carrying our own bags with kids was acceptable. But giving us a hard time going up and down multiple flights of stairs when you can make our lives easier, that’s just despicable!- Power turned off and on multiple times:Imagine the horror of my 4 year old daughter when all of a sudden it’s all dark. We can’t leave her side because it keeps happening at least 5x the entire stay.- Smells like old library:You’ll get very nostalgic if you’ve been to one before. Ughh.- Squeaky floors:That explains itself- Broken vending machine:It only requires cash and guess what? There’s no sign that it’s out of service. So when you put your money in there, it’s the same thing as putting cash in a donation or tip box.- No access to patio:One of the selling point in their website is the feature of the room which is the patio which was scenic. But when you checked in, it was nailed shut due to construction.I wasn’t able to sleep due to frustration. I wrote this at 04:00am on my phone in the room hours before checking out. Our trip was ruined by staying in this lodge. The front desk lady said she’ll talk to her manager about possibly refunding a discount for the inconvenience as the tech guy that was supposed to give them the keys didn’t come at all. I haven’t heard anything back about that either. What a weekend.

Lots of potential but lacks a good ownership team. Easily the better ski mountain in Az but is always in disarray and very poorly ran. It’s too bad. They want your money but don’t want to spend enough on making the mountain great.

The rooms are basic and the hotel is being redone, but the location is great, just 7 mins from the ski slopes. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful and the food by Chef Chris is quite wonderfulNearby activities: Sunrise Ski ResortFood & drinks: The food was delicious, the salad was fresh and very tasty, and today’s special, the elk chili was just fantastic

Typical to operations at Sunrise, our experience here was horrible. This resort has so much potential if they could just get their operations act together.First, it is absolutely ridiculous that they are marketing this hotel as "renovated". When you walk in, it feels like you are walking into the 1980's.I showed up with my two son's to stay they night and ski the next day. The two ladies at reception said they had no record of my reservation and did I have a confirmation email. I had no email. But I was able to pull up the charge from the lodge on my credit card statement. But I had no confirmation email. And they were fully booked for the night. They did find a reservation under my name for another date. Which I still had no confirmation email for. So then it's my word against theirs. But there's still no room in the Inn for myself and my kiddos.I will continue to ski at Sunrise because even with the terrible customer service, terrible operations, and terrible logistics it is still better than Snowbowl. But I will never, ever, attempt to stay at this dump of a lodge again.

Don't even bother to go here. It's a DUMP. They have never really taken care of any properties they run. Too bad they don't take any pride in the environment. Really stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place should stay permanently closed. This place was one of the worst if not the worst accommodations I have ever stayed in. Rooms had a musty smell and the TV’s were the old big tube kind from the 1980’s-1990’s. Wifi was a joke, you literally had to stand at the front desk to get a weak signal. The restaurant and bar area looked like something out of the early 1980’s it only needed to have an old cigarette vending machine to complete the outdated look and the food was atrocious enough that I was concerned that I would get food poisoning. This place needs a big time renovation all around. Maybe John Taffer of Bar Rescue and the host of Hotel Rescue could do a joint episode on this place. If negative stars were possible on Google Maps I would give this place a -150!

Cons:Needs a bunch of repairs and updating. Dead flies everywhere. Dirty spa. They shut off the hot water site to liw occupancy. Radiant and bar closed on Sunday - low occupancy. We had to drive 40 minutes to get food. Old tube/box tv. No hair dryer, microwave, or fridge. Spotty wifi.

It has been maybe 10 years since I booked at the lodge, first time was 1984 so it is an older hotel construct. I noticed they have updated the rooms, flooring etc. in the past few years. Bed coverings and pillows are a major update from previous offerings. The main attraction of this lodge is location, can't be beat for access to the mountain via shuttle vs. having to drive 10, 20 miles or more from Greer or Pinetop/Lakeside/Show low. Jacuzzi was hot, pool nice. This was superbowl weekend so there were few people out for the weekend. Had a good Sirloiin steak at the on-site resturant. Food offerings are limited and lunch was closed due to very low occupancy. Appears that anyone staying at the property in the winter is there to Ski and then eat lunch at the lift base lodge.

The staff is very friendly. But, the place is super run down & Beyond outdated. Updated room locks but got locked out & they had no way to get us in & We Had To wait for a maintenance guy to arrive. We even had cockroach land on our dinner table! We won’t return.
