Had an awesome time chugging beers and eating steak. The afterward, Rory & Sal did karaoke and sang a killer version of Love Shack!

This is the definition of a tourist trap. We’re from New Mexico we know kitschy old historic places. They are lovingly kept up and are clean and sanitary. This is not a steakhouse. At least not on a Wednesday in February. The menu we were given was not the same menu shown on the chalkboard in the photos that depicts their menu items at a little under $10. Add two more dollars for a little under $12 and then you have the real prices. The menu in the picture is shown on one side only which lists their hours and so forth. Turn it over and their real prices are revealed. The menus at the bar were filthy. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich and I ordered the cheese burger. The woman/owner/bartender warned my wife that the chicken sandwich had the base of a breaded frozen patty. My burger was the same. Both sandwiches were ok but not outstanding. It took about 30min to get our food once ordered. We were not offered water at any time during the meal. We were offered a drink at the bar for what I imagine would be full price. This is a little place to stop off for a beer or cocktail when touring the countryside around the location. This is not a current steakhouse and judging from the menu hasn’t been in at least a long time if ever. So if you’re thirsty and want a drink this is an interesting place. If you’re looking for a lunch spot keep driving and you will get much better food.Vegetarian options: Maybe the side salad. The menu is limited.Parking: It’s a graveled strip in front of the building.Kid-friendliness: I would not recommend this place for little ones. There was a chainsaw sharpener out by the bar while we were there.Wheelchair accessibility: Not ADA at all. You may be able to get a chair in there but no ADA bathroom.

If I ever went back (no plans), it would only be for a beer. Plastic forks/knive, paper plates and below average food. Two day drinkers in the bar. We had to listen to them tell the owner about how the Gubmint was out to get them by making them get a permit to build a house on their own land, dagnabit!

I have been to Texas to Cali, where they had their best steak houses, and nothing has been the best as Herb's. The bar an steakhouse has been a tradition stop, where we are welcomed by the best man you'll ever meet a real cowboy an lovely wife Barb. Ramos family has great memories here, from dancing the monster mash to getting warm from the snow. Kirkland, Barb an Herb are part of are family. Thank you for the good times. Ramos Family. Recommended the Ribe Eye steak

My friend and I stopped in Kirkland to take a few pictures of the beautiful town on our road trip. Love to come back and try out the steakhouse for lunch. Beautiful small town to visit.

Wow, a history gem!!! If you are into 5 star dining this isn't the place for you. Me and the wife had a great time chatting with the owner Herb and Barb. So much history, and plenty of stories to go with it. Wish we were able to see the place in its prime. We will for sure go back.
