There's a charm of chilly weather and the smell of books! Just stopped by to wander and peruse the children's books section but found some many good finds! There's an astonishing amount of classic literature, history, music, science - absolutely everything! Vintage books are a weakness for me and the dream to have a vintage book collection can be fulfilled here! They also sell gift certificates here so if you need a holiday gift - come by and see what you can find!

I love going to this place. It has some great books and a huge selection. I love the ambiance of the place; tall bookshelves that make narrow hallways and quiet classical music. I come here whenever I'm in the area. Never fails to make my day a little brighter. I think I could explore this place for days!

Great selection of books and the staff is helpful. They have some very hard to find books that are no longer available and not available online. It is recommended that you check with the staff if you can not find what you’re looking for, they are very pleasant and knowledgeable.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, Randy is really helpful. The place has a recent upgrade of new lighting and well placed markers for different sections. Although the place looks daunting, you will quickly find a section and find many good books. Bravo to Book Gallery for revitalizing this store.

The BEST book store in the valley and one of Mesa's oldest gems downtown. Filled with wonderful old and rare books. The atmosphere is amazing and the owner really knows his stuff.

Fantastic bookstore; great selection with just about every genre imaginable. Found some great gems here at great prices. Where else in Phoenix can you find a copy of Homer's Iliad from 1923, in near-flawless condition, with the original owner's signature dating to 1929, for $10?

A great used bookstore with a vintage feel. This bookstore is a unique and rare kind of bookstore. Once you walk in there is classical music playing and you really feel like you are in an antique shop. There are several different genres of books and books dating all the way back to the 1800s! The books here are very fairly priced. Don't just think all the books in here are old though, there are a lot of modern books here as well. This store also seems DVDs, CDs, and cassette tapes! I found two great old books about cars and planes here for a very reasonable price! I would highly recommend stopping in this store even if you don't read much just to get the nice antique shop feel and to look around at what the store offers. I am definitely going here again when I am in the area!

The dying breed of a used bookstore. Nothing can beat a used bookstore. It just feels different than Barnes& Noble or any other bookstore you can go to, but I think Barnes and Noble is the last one standing now. I didn't go into this bookstore with any particular reason. I was with my daughter and she wanted to find a book in French because she is learning it and speaks it pretty fluently now. I asked a few questions to the person at the desk and he answered some and then we talked about Ray Bradbury and some of the other shops have some of his works. I can tell you that the space is just as you would think a used book store should be. You can smell the books when you walk in. There's an upper and lower area of the shop and there's also some books behind glass that are higher price and rare editions. I don't think you're going to find a diamond in the rough at the store as they know exactly what they have and exactly what it's worth. However, I purchased a book that was so weird. I've been reading it off and on since I bought it last Saturday. My daughter has been reading her book in French which she enjoys immensely. I will visit the store again not only because of the location of it but because the staff made a worthwhile effort to talk to me and my daughter about books. We are now living in a world where hardly anyone reads and that's distressing because not everything you need to learn or can learn is on the internet. Sometimes books are the only means to that knowledge. So do yourself a favor and pick up a book your brain will thank you for it.

This is probably one of the coolest bookstores I have been in. The prices are a steal.
