Unbelievable, not a single cashier. The corporate greed of these companies is killing America. The profits that they're taking on us is unbelievable they can't even have a cashier and there self check out is trash service.

My family uses the Safeway on Alma School at Guadalupe for 19 years. Aaron, the primary pharmacist, is an example of perfect professional service. Never an issue getting meds, and they go out of their way to be helpful.

WARNING! DANGEROUS MISTAKES WITH MEDS MULTIPLE TIMES! I have numerous nightmare experiences going here over the years but they have made multiple mistakes lately that are dangerous. App no longer works so you have to call in and get refills, and the new lady working there does not understand English. She got my name and birthday wrong 6 times and I had to repeat myself too much. Then she got my medication refill request wrong 4 times, and each time told me it was expired when it was called in a week ago. When I asked to transfer to another pharmacy she put me on hold until the phone system hung up on me and my calls back went unanswered!! Considering reporting this as it's the FINAL straw and it's dangerous. Save yourself the aggravation and go somewhere...ANYWHERE ELSE!!!

My doctor suggested a COVID booster since I was set to travel and I have asthma and diabetes.When I arrived the pharmacist on duty had an unkempt appearance and didn’t appear to want to help. My impressions were correct. When my turn came up, the pharmacist claimed that my risk factors no longer counted and seemed upset that my form listed I wasn’t 65+. She didn’t let me explain that your website progression allowed me to set an appointment. She continued to be snippy and cut me off before I can finish my sentences. . She then said outright I will not serve you here today go to another pharmacy.I have no idea what I did to receive such awful treatment.I went to a different pharmacy and the pharmacist agreed with my doctor that I was considered high risk and enough time had passed from my last vaccination to the present to warrant a new shot. 15 minutes later I got my booster at no charge.I will not be visiting this pharmacy or store again

Good place to shop. Friendly people working there. Pharmacy is very professional and personable. Helpful with explaining prescription and contacting Doctors for refills.

I know. I know. There's a pandemic and pharmacists and technicians are waay overworked with all the extra stuff they have to do AND, their lack of staff. Patience and understanding is the key guys. They are doing their best. Kudos to the pharmacist on duty today (Manny?) for the way he handled the busy rush. Great job, sir.

I will say I do not use the Safeway Pharmacy a lot however I am rethinking that now. I've always found the staff there to be professional, courteous and very helpful. Great Job to all of your hard work!!

I've been going to the Safeway Pharmacy on Alma School and Guadalupe in Mesa for about 30 years. I would consistently rate the pharmacy with 5 stars all these years. Just recently Aaron took the time to help me with a prescription. It was just about closing time and he went out of his way to make sure I got the prescription I needed. Thank you

EXPIRED FOOD ON THE SHELVES!!!!!! I can not tell you how many times I have purchased food from this Safeway only to get it home and have it be expired already. I bought some Hillshire meat and cheese snacks two weeks ago. I brought one to work and the cheese smelled rotten so I threw it out. Didn't even think to check the date. I brought one to work today and looked at the date and it expired LAST YEAR!!!! December 24th 2019 and it's STILL on your shelf???? ITS ALMOST MARCH!!! The worst part is I buy expired food from here more often than not. And it's not like it's only one area of the store like deli foods. Sometimes it's stuff in jars or boxes. So it obviously the entire store isn't doing their job at checking not just a specific area. I'm definitely going to make a point to start holding on to my receipt and bringing back their old a** food for a refund because this is just getting old at this point. (No pun intended).

Let me start by saying that our entire family absolutely loves this pharmacy and this rating is in no way a reflection of its usual performance, but rather an alert to management. Everyone there is always genuinely friendly, prompt and thorough. That is, until we stopped by for a refill on Monday, 9/23/19, and were "helped" by a lady whom I had never seen before and hope I never will again, whose facial expression was that of chewing on a sour lemon, didn't even try to hide how she was clearly bothered by our presence, told us "they were extremely busy" (there's no one else in sight) and told us to come back tomorrow (it's around 2pm on the clock) . I understand that all sorts of emergencies happen to the best of us, and am in no way concerned with the being busy part, but rather with her sheer unfriendliness, perhaps in contrast to all the other employees I've encountered there. This is a customer-facing position, and if you are not happy with it, I'm sure there are many others who will be.

Solid neighborhood grocery store with decent prices and regular sales. We've lived near this location for 20 years now and have seen many changes over the years - employees have come and gone, the store has been remodeled inside, the entire plaza has been remodeled outside, etc. What has not changed is the friendliness of their employees, the level of customer service, and the quality of their baked goods and deli area selections. They have the most delicious pies and make excellent cakes with beautiful decorations as well. Their deli area has a few self-serve options (soup, etc) and also has a counter where you can go for meats, pasta salads, potatoes, etc. So many choices. There is also a small Starbucks inside this location. At the back of the store there is a Sonora Quest Lab clinic (for blood draws, etc). There is a bank inside at the front - a Wells Fargo. You can send and receive money via Western Union at the Service Desk.
