We visited this Safeway a couple weeks ago. My experience has been nagging in my head and thought someone should know about it. We picked up a few items and noticed that the price on the shelf tag did not match the promotion that was being offered. A friendly stock clerk suggested we take a pic of the shelf and the item in question and share the issue with the checkout team. All great, until we checked out. The older blonde lady who checked us out could not have cared less about or concern. When I explained the situation she abruptly turned her back mid sentence, looked at the newspaper adds and scanned the add. She then turned back to me, interrupted me mid sentence and told me she scanned a coupon. She didn't allow me to explain that I had several items, and the price was not accurate. It was not worth it for me to go to battle. It was obvious to me that she had been a long tenured person who lost all joy for her job long ago. I didn't want to deal with it, so I just paid the inaccurate price and moved on. I understand that Safeway wants to honor their long term employees, however I hope there is a review process to insure that those in customer facing positions are proficient in providing genuine hospitable service.
