My wife and I met some friends here for dinner last night. The place is nice, but not over the top fancy or anything. We ordered bruschetta and mozarella sticks as an appetizer along with fresh bread served with olive oil&vinegar. Everything was outstanding and filling. For dinner we ordered chicken picatta, clams and linguine and both meals were delicious. One of our guests at the table required a gluten free entree and they were kind enough to make him a special entree and he said it was delicious. We then enjoyed a slice of homeade orea cheesecake and it too was delicious. We would definitely return here... ask for Alyssa and she will take good care of you as well!

Went here with my wife and my parents, as it was one of the only OpenTable restaurants in Mesa. Everything was good ... not great, but of good solid quality. We had caprese salad, Caesar, and the mussels for appetizers. All was good. Mussels lacked some of that deep flavorful broth that you love to dip your crusty bread in, and the salads were good, but nothing stood out as really flavorful. We had a variety of pasta dishes and eggplant parm - again, not bad, not spectacular. The martinis tasted slightly watered down due to the amount of ice that melted while shaking, but they were good. Desserts had good flavor, but slightly off-target (salted caramel cheesecake came with strawberries on it - an odd disconnect). The food is good, service was good, but I will reiterate the one review about them clearing the table a little early while others were still eating. The reviews about ‘not romantic' are accurate. I'd return for a decent meal, but I'm in no hurry to get back, like I am for some places.

Under new ownership. Menu changed slightly, food quality and portions have diminished. Rustic Board no longer available. Rústico Salad no longer edible. New dressing type is extremely sour and lemony. These changes cause Sam and Luca's to no longer be the wonderful experience and value it once was.

I am a huge fan of chef Mark Coakley from prior experience, especially his Salmon and tomahawk steak, among other great menu items. Mark took over as chef at Sam and Luca yesterday, so I ordered takeout. Holy Moly, it did not disappoint. I ordered the new salmon. It was delicious as usual. I ordered Capelli pasta and meatballs which were also excellent. I also got the Tustico salad which was great. I can not wait to try the filet and other items. Great job for your second night Mark and new owners and staff. Excellente! Can not wait to go back for more.

Everyone was at the top of their game! Excellent food, service and value. Nice to see a restaurant take care of every detail. Definitely one of the best experiences I have had in dining in the valley.

I love eating at this place they have several things that are always good when they have specials that have halibut just go for it it's going to be good when they have a special that has the braised rib ravioli go for it it's good and when they have the special lamb chops well they're always on the menu get them they're always good ?

Wonderful local Italian restaurant. Outstanding service, food and ambiance. The large bar area also opens to the outdoors which makes it appealing for casual dining either alone or with guests.

Made a reservation and took my parents there for their anniversary. They had us wait until our table was ready about five or 10 minutes later than our reservation but that is the only thing I didn't like. The waiter was amazing the food amazing! I had the salmon And I swear it was the very best I've ever had. My dad had the pork loin chops and he said that they were amazing. The waiter was awesome and unforgettable. The only complaint from my parents was that they started clearing our table before everybody was done, which isn't the best etiquette.

Really good food. I had one of their specials that was shrimp and halibut fra diavolo! It was amazing! I let our server Kosuke who was so wonderful, know that I liked mine spicy and my plate came out exactly how I wanted. We will back!

Decent place to eat. Our waiter was attentive and knew all of the specials. Food was ok. Pasta Lacked flavor and needed more sauce, especially the Alfredo.Chocolate cake wad good but all of the deserts were ecExpensive for the serving size.

We love this place.
