Where to begin…..
If you agree to work overtime when asked, you may find that it’s taken away by the end of the week when you’re told to take a day off due to fluctuating workflow. As a result, hours tend to be inconsistent. Your job is never secure here—at least 30% of employees have been fired in the past six months, with several let go each week. New hires and temporary workers are constantly brought in to replace those who are dismissed. Favoritism is rampant, and efficiency and progress often take a backseat to outdated practices, despite the existence of simple solutions to ongoing issues.
The workforce here is largely made up of low-income, non-white, and/or disabled individuals, and discrimination in various forms is widespread. The environment feels more like high school, with cliques and snarky behavior, and your success largely depends on being part of the “popular” crowd. Supervisors are often disrespectful and hostile toward employees they don’t deem worthy, regularly instigating conflicts.
The sense of community that once existed is long gone. Now, you’re expected to keep your head down, work as quickly as possible, and hope you still have a job by the end of the day. Music, which was once allowed while working, is no longer permitted, and friendly conversations between coworkers have been discouraged.
The physical environment is toxic. Many workers suffer from burns, bloody noses, and other health issues from inhaling fumes. The facility is open-air, with no clear separation between those required to wear protective gear and others who are in street clothes. Since leaving, I’ve been able to recover from the physical conditions that developed during my time there. I’ve never been so frequently ill, and my immune system was severely weakened by both physical exposure and constant stress.
This is not a job that anyone should be struggling to keep. The work itself isn’t difficult, but the constant fear of being fired makes it an incredibly stressful and unstable environment.
I’m sure the owners have the best interests of their employees at heart, but the execution is failing. As a business, it’s important to recognize that mistakes will happen, and the company must bear the cost. Punishing everyone for the mistake of one individual is counterproductive. Additionally, paying employees just $1 above minimum wage to handle dangerous chemicals worth tens of thousands of dollars is a poor approach.
I believe the entire system needs an overhaul, because basic human decency cannot be taught in an environment that lacks respect and support. I can only hope those in charge remember that employees are the backbone of the company. By focusing on proper, cohesive training, you could help employees perform more effectively, rather than creating a chaotic environment and then punishing everyone when things go wrong.

She is so helpful.Question- why does my clear always get skin in them to the point where I can’t use the batch. I have had to throw away so many batches. I can’t really afford to do that.Cancer Costs Currency. ( lol) WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

We wondered into this shop randomly today and was greeted by very friendly staff. The “Soap Gal” herself even greeted us and gave us an amazing deal on some products we had chosen. We can’t wait for your shop to become fully up and running. We hope to visit you again soon!
