About Peppersauce Campground
Peppersauce Campground is a small, peaceful camping area nestled in a valley near Mount Lemmon. It offers a quiet escape surrounded by big trees and lush shade, making it ideal for those seeking a nature retreat. The campground features about 10 individual sites and a large group area that can be reserved. Many campsites are level, but some may require a four-wheel-drive vehicle to reach due to the unpaved, occasionally muddy road that gets a bit tricky in the last two miles. The campground provides water spigots, permanent pit toilets, bear boxes, concrete picnic tables, and fire pits with adjustable grills, making it suitable for tent camping and small campers. No showers are available, only water pumps near the outhouses. The area is rich in wildlife and birdlife, with a variety of winter birds, night owls, and night hawks, especially at night. Visitors often enjoy the sounds of little animals and birds, and the scenic surroundings include a creek and a small cave. The campground is also close to hiking trails, including an ATV trail at Rice Peak, which offers stunning views, secluded camping spots, and interesting rocks. While the scenery is beautiful and the weather in spring is perfect, visitors should be aware that the road can be muddy and weather-dependent, and the area can become crowded during holidays, with loud cars and no campground management. Overall, Peppersauce offers a quiet, green oasis for campers who enjoy nature, birdwatching, and a peaceful setting.

It's so pretty and the weather in spring time is perfect. The bathrooms had toilet paper, and there's water spigots. However, there's a school down the road and a lot of loud cars come through starting at (I believe) 5 or 6 AM. Something to keep in mind if you're trying to get away from the noise.

I've camped here multiple times and it's been a great experience everytime. The weather's cool in the summer, and gets snow sometimes in the winter. Perfect for the hole family.
