Restrooms need help...road Can be muddy, there is traffic through the camp due to a school camp on tje other side.Pluses are a nice creek, BIG trees and a great variety of winter birds! We tented, and the night birds, like Western Screen Owls, and Night Hawks was AWESOME!I was there for the birds. I would NOT bring anything but a tent or small camper. Don't come in a large motor home. There are water pumps near the outhouses. No showers or hand washing other than the pump. Some campsites are level, most are not.I'm not sure of the number of sites... maybe 10? There are a couple group sites for tenting. School groups and clubs come fairly often on weekends. There are "dry" camp spots on the other side of the road, but no water or outhouses there. Just a few pull outs along the creek.Rainy weather can be questionable for travel in and out of the area.!

It's so pretty and the weather in spring time is perfect. The bathrooms had toilet paper, and there's water spigots. However, there's a school down the road and a lot of loud cars come through starting at (I believe) 5 or 6 AM. Something to keep in mind if you're trying to get away from the noise.

I've camped here multiple times and it's been a great experience everytime. The weather's cool in the summer, and gets snow sometimes in the winter. Perfect for the hole family.

Beautiful, peaceful, so many trees and lots of shade. Some sites are impossible to reach without 4 wheel drive but many shady areas near the bathrooms and water are relatively easy to reach. You may scrape rocks in a super low car like ours. The fee is $15 per night and they have water spigots, a bathroom, concrete picnic tables, bear boxes, and a fire pit with adjustable grill. The road gets a bit threatening in the last 2 miles or so before the campground. You shouldn't go any further however, unless you have 4WD or a good truck, the road beyond this campsite is not maintained much and is "drive at your own risk".Across Mt. Lemmon Rd. is a trailhead for an ATV trail marked "Rice Peak 7 (miles)" much closer than the other hiking trails, that we hiked along for a bit and it was stunning, and we saw many lovely secluded sites for camping back there which I assume are free dispersed camping areas with no amenities, and we also found a trickle of snowmelt forming a tiny creek in the riverbed while hiking there, a cool creepy cave in the wall, and lots of neat rocks. Lots of birds and little animal sounds at night shows you the life of the forest. Neat bugs too!

Small but mighty.Tucked in a little valley and just before the long climb up the back along Mt. Lemmon highway lies this little tree shaded campground. The thick foliage blocks a lot of sunlight so this places stays a bit cooler from the rest of the area.Lots of little camping spaces are available and there is a large group space you may use if you reserve it.There are water spigots and permanent pit toilets for camp use as well as bear boxes to store your food. There is usually a large dumpster for your trash. The area allows sight of turkeys and other wildlife, a small cave, and lots of walking trails. It's a little green oasis.Restrooms: Permanent pit toilets

Great campground in the spring. I would avoid going on holidays though it gets packed to the point people set up shop around the bathrooms. The whole 3 days we were there we never saw a camp ground host or manager. We reserved the group site and it was packed when we got there and got into an altercation with the squatters since there was no campground management. It is a pretty campground especially when the creek is running after the rains. I would just shoot for a first come first serve spot and go early.

We took our camper trailer for the first time up the mountain. We chose Peppersauce Campground because we wanted to see how the camper trailer and our vehicle would do. They both did great. The Campground has camping sites, no electric, but water is available near the bathrooms through a manual pump. It's first come first served for the campgrounds. They have fire pits and a bench table. Lots of trees and also there is a tree swing that our kids loved. In the campsites you could fit a camper trailer and maybe the vehicle behind it. Lovely time we all had. We will definitely go back again and truly recommend it to everyone!

A little busy on weekends but nice....beware of traffic that exceeds the 15 mph posted dust control limit coming from the gated ranch area at the end side of the camp grounds...?

Spent a few hours here hanging out in the shade. At least it was cooler than Tucson and Phoenix. Not a big campground, but it was clean when we were there. Also not crowded. We will be back again.

The campground was closed due to health concerns therefore no running water. Because we only planned on staying one night it wasn't a problem. Always good to get out and go camping.

Very nice. Remote and well kept. Its surprising as road leading there is barren. Yet the camp is in a deep ravine covered in sycamore trees. Bring mosquito repellent?

The place is almost magical. Cool, quiet, and relaxing...but bring some OFF!!! FOR THE no see, ems. But beware of the giant teddy bear that left this print. It is known to frequent this camp site.

There was no water! The pumps were there but none of them worked. The bathroom was a mess and the women's was out of toilet paper for 24 hours. No host on site that we found and people did not follow noise restrictions. Generators starting at 5am and music all night long till 3am. Sites so close together that the one next to our site used our fire ring. It is a beautiful place with some great hiking but there are a lot of better options.

We camped 1 night 2/16/21. There was no water & the pit toilets were full & very smelly. Plus the same road for the camp is used for an organization at the end of the road, a lot of car traffic from 7-8 am & 4-5 pm. Not peaceful at all. No hikes except on road from the campground.
