I can't believe it's already been a year since I was referred to Joseph and Block Fitness. I have knee issues, which is why I have the privilege of training one-on-one with the coaches Joseph, Juliet, Ethan, Becky, Jo, and Caroline and taking part in the 5 a.m. Meta Fit class. Their knowledge, skill, and unwavering dedication to your success and celebrating your achievements are what sets them apart. They know when to push you and are with you every step of the way. It's more than just achieving fitness; it's about the feeling of belonging. I'm so grateful for all the encouragement, the laughs, and the motivation they bring to this amazing journey. Block Fitness is more than a place to work out; it's your fitness community.

The Block Fitness team are awesome! I was a little nervous about starting at a gym — I had no idea what I was doing, I was healing from an injury, and I wasn’t in my best shape. The team here are so genuinely warm and helpful that I quickly got over that. They created workouts targeted to get me past my injury without exacerbating it, and they are really good at pushing in a way that makes me challenge myself. All the other folks working out are really nice, but focused on their own workouts, so it’s a great, upbeat vibe without any judgement/peer pressure. I never thought I would be a “gym person” but I absolutely love going now, and I’m the strongest I’ve ever been. Can’t recommend them highly enough!

I finally found the place for me!!!! Two major reasons:First and foremost I needed a place that put their emphasis on long term health, and prioritized a healthy mindset around working out. I want to do triathlons for the rest of my life, so strength and mobility are key for that longevity in the sport. I also want to love working out for the rest of my life, so I needed a place where I WANT to go. BLOCK FITNESS DELIVERED!! They are supporting my health for the long game, and I love the community feel!The second big reason is schedule flexibility! I never pulled the trigger on personal training at other gyms because I just couldn’t consistently commit. The structure of the Block Fitness programming allows me to get a plan tailored for ME, work out under the watchful eye and encouragement of a coach, and do that on a time table that works for me. I can even take the workout on the road when I travel, thanks to the handy app with video instruction.I am sold on Block Fitness!!

My time at Block Fitness has been nothing short of life changing.I’ve done the “gym thing” since the early 80’s; I have never had the type of positive experience or results from any other fitness program as I have with Block. Every single coach at Block knows me and has been invested in my success and I am eternally grateful. At 64 years old, I feel better, healthier, stronger and more focused on my physical wellbeing than I have in decades.Thank you Block!

Genuinely the very best gym I have ever been to. Not only do they meet you where you are they encourage you to do what’s best for your body. All while teaching you about why you do what you do and how to do the exercises correctly. Not only do you show up and are greeted with a warm welcome from every single one of the coaches, you are greeted by other block members who never make you feel like your walking in on a private conversation. Block also has the best of the best equipment and are constantly adding to the tools necessary to have the best workout. An amazing community with amazing coaches. 10/10 recommend to anyone and everyone!!

Block Fitness is the gym I needed! I love putting the work in, but didn't know the correct things to do to get my desired outcome. I show up, do the specific workout created for me, and I'm done! The trainers are amazing and ensure you are doing things correctly, and challenge you to push just a little extra when they know you aren't working to your full potential. I highly recommend Block Fitness!

Block Fitness is a special place. I found Block through a friend when I was recovering from ankle surgery. I was ready to get back into working out but was nervous about finding what I could do safely and what I couldn't do yet. From day one, every trainer helped me find my limits and work to surpass them. Eight months later I am doing things I haven't done in years with my ankle and my body. I'm loving working out more than ever. I'm grateful for the mentality of Block. I feel safe, respected, and valued. Each time I attend a class there is laughter, fun, and I push myself to new limits with the support of some really caring coaches and people.

The owners Joseph and Karil, as well as the 3 other coaches (Caroline, Ethan, and James) that I have met at Block Fitness are friendly, motivating, and are well versed in fitness and nutrition. If you have injuries or medical limitations, they will create the perfect workout program for you, and are always there to ensure proper form. Block offers both custom workouts designed specifically for you, group circuit training, or both. Just let them know what your fitness goals are, and they will set you up!

Block Fitness has been a game changer for my fitness & strength. As I get older, I realize weight lifting is so important and Block has helped me get stronger while doing the moves safely, with the knowledgeable instructors always watching our form. Ethan always has great hip exercises too for our stiff hips, doing these help relieve some back pain I suffer from. Thanks Block! You guys rock ????

Block fitness has been a winning recipe for me. The coaching is top notch, the atmosphere is encouraging, and the app is great.I always thought my genetics/injuries wouldn't allow me to workout regularly, but Block has tailored a workout plan that helped with form and proper exercises to get strong ?.PS - when they advertise any age - they mean it.

Bottom Line Up Front: Block is an awesome place with knowledgeable coaches who help move you toward your personal best with every interaction.I’ve been here a month now and participate in the semi-private training sessions. While they are semi-private, I can always count on a coach to be around to help with my form and to answer any questions I might have. With every visit, I learn something new.The group classes, called Meta-Fit, are an awesome challenge in a group setting (complete with modifications, as needed). The vibe and culture is one of encouragement. The workout is challenging, yet fun.I’m seeing progress in my body already and am enjoying the culture of feeling like I’m with a group of like-minded friends who encourage and support one another along the way.This place is awesome. Come as you are, whether you are already super fit or a rookie like me. You will be challenged and supported no matter where you are in your journey.

I started going to the gym because I had some specific goals (lose some weight, be able to do a pull up), but wasn’t particularly excited about going -I had tried and “failed” with at-home programs, big box gyms, circuit-style programs, and personal trainers. My experience with Joseph and the gym shifted all of this radically. My goals have changed (I now want to work out for the sake of working out-it’s its own reward—and because of my long term goal of being strong AF when I am an old lady), my relationship with my body has changed (I now focus on the weight I lift, rather than the weight of my body, and focus on performance rather than appearance—though both my weight and appearance have improved considerably!), and I have better mental health too-I am more optimistic, hopeful, and confident.While I owe much of this to Joseph’s training, it is also the community he builds at the gym that keeps me going. When I’m traveling, I’ll still work out (he has helped me craft in-room workouts so I can stay balanced and sane on business trips), but being able to sweat, suffer, laugh, and celebrate with other people in a place where I am cared about and seen has made a world of difference.Joseph also helped me stay the course when I went through a year of physical therapy. He worked with me to integrate my particular limitations and needs into my plan so that when I finally got back under the barbell, I saw rapid improvement and gains. Both the programming and the positive attitude helped me get through a very challenging year!The TL;DR is: I went from someone who knew I needed to make a change in my lifestyle and wasn’t particularly thrilled with it to someone who loves the gym. I promise you, if you are on the fence, or if you have tried other places and didn’t like them, this one is worth a shot!
