“Great experience renting a 4x4 for White Pockets. Some of the Jeeps in their fleet are older, but the owners make up for issues by going over and beyond to resolve them. When multiple indicators came up on the dash of our white Jeep and phones were almost impossible to have a conversation on the owners used iMessage to communicate, had us proceed as planned, and actually sent someone out to the White Pockets parking lot to inspect our vehicle. Great assurance, superb customer service. If you have an option - avoid the older white model, it slows down to 40 mph when handling sections of the highway with elevations. Great on unplanned roads though!”

“Everything went smoothly, car was prepared, nice, working, clean, in great condition. The owner was very nice and helpful, taught us how to use the car, gave us the map, marked the way to White Pocket, showed us where on the map was the place where we needed to switch to 4x4.It's a pity that there is no other way to communicate when ordering, just to call (no email on the website, what's up number...). One call cost us 31eur through our EU number in roaming ?.We were surprised that we had to give all credit card details when calling (huge security risk), now all those agencies that record all calls in the USA have it ? yes, we are paranoid, we are IT guys from Europe.Note for newbies: What to consider when renting a jeep to go to the White Pocket versus taking a tour.If you are a first time visitor, things might take longer.1. Pick up a jeep at 8am (there might be someone earlier, you wait for them to sign papers, have a short car introduction...) - You leave around 8:10-15.2. Go to your place (motel/hotel...) to fill your jeep with water, food, photo equipment... Plus drive to your place. Leaving the hotel parking lot around 8:353. Drive to the White Pocket. For experienced drivers it should take an average of 2:30 hours. For us it was 3:30, exactly 11:05 when we parked in White Pocket (no problem getting there, no deep sand, it was raining the day before. There was also a Toyota 4 RUNNER with Forrester Outback parked there. Probably wet sand makes it easier)4. We calculated that we could be there max 1:45 hours, leaving at 12:50PM. Because we had to return the car by 5pm (otherwise $100 penalty). It means 3:30 hrs back, empty car by motel / hotel, wash it, fill the tank and it must be all done including driving to the owner by 5PM.We were so stressed because of the time. We arrived at the front door of the owner at 4:58PM. Washing the car took so much time because there was mud on the way back thanks to the rain and the car was extensively dirty from the outside. We were also stressed because the owner was not there when we returned the car. Another couple returning a jeep called the owner and he told them to leave it in front of the house. The rental for one day 8AM-5PM was $250. Gas was $42, wash $12.If we ever rent a jeep again, it will be for 2 days. We want to avoid time stress. Maybe we would have more time if the trip really only took us 2:30 hrs instead of 3:30 hrs.A standard tour is about $210 pp (length cca 8hrs, 1 1/2 - 2 hrs walking in White Pocket). One does not care about time and dirt.”

“Had an accident in a rental from another company on the way to Salt Lake City and was stranded in Page. Needed another car to finish our trip in a hurry. Avis came through in an instant. They were amazingly helpful, kind, and generous. They even made sure I had a larger car to accommodate my service dog. I can't recommend this Avis enough.”
