Johnny E. Osuna Memorial Park is a charming and peaceful spot located in the middle of Peoria, near Old Town. The park offers a quiet escape from the busy city with accessible sidewalks, shaded picnic areas, and a spacious grassy field. While the scenery is simple and situated next to a busy road, the park's artistic features add character and interest. Visitors can enjoy bronze sculptures, tile mosaics, and an interactive art exhibit that keeps children entertained for hours, especially when lit up at night. The park also features a harmony area with musical instruments like bells, tubes, and a xylophone, which provides a fun way for kids and adults to explore music. During special events, such as holiday festivals, the park is decorated with a Christmas tree and booths selling food and products, creating a joyful atmosphere. Facilities include some restroom facilities, which are generally clean but may be outdated or sometimes closed during off-hours. Parking is available on the quiet side streets, though it can be tight during busy times. The park lacks a traditional playground, and some musical instruments need maintenance, but overall, visitors find it a delightful place to walk dogs, spend time with loved ones, or enjoy local art and community events. Despite minor limitations, Johnny E. Osuna Memorial Park remains a lovely, artistic oasis in Peoria perfect for relaxation and family outings.
Recently, there is a special festival event with christmas tree and some booths selling foods and products, creating an atmosphere full of joy and happiness.
