I want to thank Heather! She was instrumental in getting my wife, Deb's body donated to medical science prior to cremation. This was her wish! I'd give you a hug, Heather, if I could!

Our experience with Abel Funeral Services and, in particular, Bri, has been nothing short of exceptional during a challenging time for our family. From the very first phone call, Bri demonstrated a level of professionalism, empathy, and efficiency that set Abel Funeral Services apart. We had initially started with a different service (which I have since given a 1 star review and filed a formal compliant with the AZ Dept of Health Services) who would not provide pricing transparency or service information in a timely manner so we decided to switch to Abel based on a friend's recommendation. In our initial 10-minute call, Bri efficiently provided us with all the necessary pricing and timing information, leaving us feeling well-informed and supported. Her transparency and willingness to address our questions instilled confidence, making a difficult process surprisingly manageable. What truly stood out was Bri's follow-up and reassurance regarding our mother's care. The personalized attention and genuine concern for our family's well-being were evident in every interaction. Bri went above and beyond to ensure we felt supported and informed throughout the entire process including calling us after their office closed to reassure us our mother was in their care. Abel Funeral Services, through Bri's outstanding service, turned what could have been an overwhelming experience into one marked by compassion, efficiency, and genuine care. We are immensely grateful for the support and guidance provided during this difficult time.

We lost our Mother 12/21/23 and the team at Abel were nothing but simply amazing since I had to call them! The compassionate/ efficient staff made this so much more easier for our family! When we picked our Mother's ashes up today you can just feel the wholesome vibe from the team! We truly appreciate you and all the hard work. I also want to point out the patience when I had a million questions. God bless ?? Thank you from The Lewers family

Everyone was very helpful and made the process of having my husband cremated go smoothly. They answered countless questions from us with complete kindness and patience.

This is a caring and devoted business to help us all during our grieving period. I believe Richard was the one to come and pick up my husband and he was to most caring and kind person I have met. He treated my husband as if it was his father. Abel Funeral Services was excellent. I have referred three people to them when the time comes. And also put them in my Will to be sent to them. Thank you for all the kindness during this very difficult time.

Working with Abel funeral services was an absolute nightmare. They were recommended by the hospital. (First red flag, I guess) Zero compassion, incredibly rude- lots of pushing and harassment while trying to make decisions. They called and threatened to cremate my mother without my consent while we were setting up an autopsy within a week of her passing. Ultimately, we ended up putting out money to move my mother to another funeral home & it made all the difference. Cost wise and stress wise. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy, especially to someone who has just lost someone for the first time.

Abel Funeral Services, was there to guide us through the cremation of our loved one. We had difficulty with the hospital completing the death notification, and with Heather O'Toole's assistance we were able to get the hospital to complete the death notification. The cremation was handled promptly and the legal paperwork completed in a timely manner. Heather made herself available to us without delay each time we needed her advice and help! I would highly recommend Abel Funeral Services!

My experience with Able Funeral Services was nothing short of a nightmare. They displayed a shocking lack of compassion and empathy during a time that is already incredibly difficult for any grieving family. They callously refused to allow us to visit our departed loved one before the cremation process, which is a basic courtesy that any reputable funeral service should provide. When a distraught mother, desperate to bid farewell to her son, tried to reason with them, they heartlessly hung up on her. It's appalling that they could be so callous in the face of a mother's grief.Furthermore, they resorted to dishonesty by claiming that embalming was a legal requirement for viewing, which is an outright falsehood. This deceitful ploy was clearly a money-grabbing tactic, taking advantage of a family in their most vulnerable state. In a time when we needed understanding, support, and kindness, Able Funeral Services provided none of it. I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment to anyone who values even an ounce of humanity and compassion during such a trying time. Their actions were not only unprofessional but also deeply hurtful. This experience has left a stain on what should have been a moment of closure and remembrance for our family.

Unfortunately I was put in the position to need a funeral service and I live in Pennsylvania, but daughter lived in Phoenix… I had no idea who to reach out to.. Abel Funeral Services was the first place to come up when I started my research, I called them and I am glad I did… they were very kind, compassionate and give me all the info I needed… they took immediate care of my daughter, within 3 days my daughter was cremated and on her way back home to me… Thank You so much for taking care of us in our time of need …

Where do I begin!! From the first person I spoke to that gave me incorrect information, to the month it took to cremate my mom, to the rudeness and complete lack of compassion when I took in the urn we purchased. She took my license then confused me with another deceased persons family, to loudly, in front of a room full of people waiting to go into the chapel, said “ You’re not Frances” and walked out of the office saw me holding a urn and said ”Oh we’re doing a transfer, did you prepay!” She then took the urn and told me to “have a seat.” Then when she brought my moms urn out, she dropped it on the table and laughed stating” It’s a good thing the bubble wrap, and the cloth were there!” I was absolutely mortified and emotionally destroyed that she would treat my mom’s cremains this way and in front of a room full of people! Several days after I received the death certificates, they called and left me a message that they forgot to keep one for the insurance company and if I could mail or drop off a copy!!!! Every step of my experience with this mortuary was wrought with disgust and deep disappointment. I will never recommend this mortuary going forward to anyone.

Horrible experience, had to wait about a month just to get my uncle cremated. My grandmother was distraught that she couldn't put him to rest sooner than that. We had to keep delaying the funeral services because they wouldn't give us a direct answer on when the cremation would be done. They also charged extra just to put his ashes in the custom urn we bought. I would not recommend this place to anyone, it's cheap but you get what you pay for cheap horrible service.

This was the second time we used Abel Funeral Service. They make things as easy as possible. Liz and the gentleman that escorted us the the burial were truly amazing. My family and I highly recommend using this service. They are very professional, affordable and the entire place has been remodeled since the last time we used them which was back in 2005. It was a beautiful service. Thank you
