Prices are double or a %50 more than Home Depot. The same bag of cement at their store $22 in Home Depot $16
I bought half sheet of drywall and it was $16 this is ridiculous in Home Depot $10 one sheet 8x4
Also many times I tried to buy something they don’t have it and I have to go to Home Depot anyways
The only reason buying here it is closer to my house
But going and not finding basic things like a full sheet of drywall or electrical parts is annoying
So I will try to avoid these stores as much as possible

Customer service was trash. I had to help the staff connect the dots. (It wasn't hard. I needed a part to help me fix something.) If the questions were actually good/half decent questions. I wouldn't be writing this. But this staff can easily be replaced with kiosks.

This place is mid at best. Higher prices and smaller selection than competitors within driving distance. The coupons they send you in the mail have SO MANY exclusions that I never get to use them.

Whoever the short-haired Mexican guy that works at the very front by the door is needs to be fired. I was just coming in to try to buy some tools to fix my bike and he would not let me park the bike out front in front of the store out of the way of the doors he just wouldn't let me come in the guy was rude condescending and started in on me the minute I walked through the front door he just saw me and decided he didn't like me for some reason he needs to be fired. But I doubt that's going to happen because this is the kind of treatment that I've come to expect from Ace hardware. You guys suck!

Amazing customer service. Went above and beyond to help me find a very difficult bolt. I highly recommended this hardware store.

Most Ace Hardware stores have terrible customer service but this one has to be the worst. The ladies that work the registers are never helpful and just stare at you as if you're going to steal something. Bad experience all around and I bet Walt would be turning over in his grave if he was aware of this.

I usually shop at The Big box stores. You know the two, but due to my new location they're not nearby so I decided to try Walt's Ace hardware. Very very different experience. Lots of staff running around the store to help you and they constantly would see if there's anything else they could help you with. It reminds me of what customer service actually is and this is definitely a place that I will be using a lot because of the service. The big box stores I stopped going to and just order online anymore. It was a pleasure and I dealt with a couple of different people there and they were all very very awesome.

Ace Hardware – Where Service Still Matters
Ace may not always win the price war—let’s be honest, a bag of soil here can run $11–$18, while the same thing at Home Depot or Lowe’s might cost you $6–$7. But somehow, we keep coming back. Why?
Because Ace isn’t just a store. It’s a neighbor.
The customer service is truly unbeatable. Whether you’re hunting down a specific screw, troubleshooting a DIY project, or just need a second opinion, the staff here treats you like a person—not a transaction. They remember your name, ask about your weekend, and genuinely care if you get the right solution.
The location is incredibly convenient, which makes those quick fix-it runs painless. But more than that, Ace feels woven into the fabric of our community. It’s the kind of place where you bump into your neighbor, get a gardening tip from the cashier, and leave feeling a little more connected.
Sure, the big box stores might offer lower prices. But they can’t offer the same warmth, trust, and local spirit that Ace delivers every time.
Ace is the place—not just for hardware, but for heart. 🛠️❤️

Went there like 2 years ago to get keys cut that I brought in they charged me 7 dollars then and today they tried charging me 15 dollars per key that I brought in when there sign says double cut auto key $5.59 I called Ace on 51st and Indian school and they told me $5 bucks per key. I left and went there instead to save $20
GUESS I WONT RETURN TO WALTS EVER AGIAN AND MAKE THE EXTRA 2 MINUTE DRIVE TO ALLOW 51ST TO MAKE MY MONEY INSTEAD!
SAD THAT WALTS PRICE GOUGES THE CUSTOMER. KEY CUTTING ISNT CHEMISTRY FELLAS!

Worse experience after 20 years buying from this ACE store … will never go back… bought a bolt cutter that didn’t cut the lock I needed cut… returned it the next day with the receipt and the cashier who checked me out the day before refused to return stating that the receipt says no tools refunds… the bolt cutter wasn’t big enough and had to have the lock grinder off…I said I paid for it and you gave me the receipt and she said it’s on the receipt. First of all you typically don’t look at the receipt after you buy something for the terms and conditions of the purchase you just made. Then she tells me she told me and I said NO you didn’t … otherwise I wouldn’t have wasted my time coming back in the store or would have gone to HomeDepot… then they tell me the no return policy is by the tools… now I’m upset because in AZ it has to be posted at the point of sale… this store historically has been good, but amateur employees 3 of them would rather argue over $40 transaction and loose a valued customer for 20 years. I probably bought something there at least one or twice a month … no more…. If the manager reads this please train your staff to learn respect and follow the AZ law for point of sale return policy.
