I have been shopping at severely overpriced AJ's for decades. They are seriously declining. Case in point: I shopped there on Xmas Eve. I bought a $5.89 container of Straus Organic Plain Yogurt. Got it home and noticed that the expiration date was 12-23-23. I went back there tonight, attempted to buy the same product, and saw that the expiration date was TODAY! 1-13-24. Needless to say, this time I didn't buy it.

Have been going to this A.J.'s for years and finally decided to write a review based on a wonderful experience I had with the wine cellar department. Gregg and the staff are awesome to work with and I would recommend this AJs over any of the others in the area.

I went here looking for a tray of appetizers to bring for a small cocktail party and didn’t find anything premade here. What I did end up settling on was very expensive. It’s a bit too bougie for me haha!

The drinks are a MUST, love the service, overall a great location as long as you don't get the after schoo, crowd. WATCH OUT!

AJ's Fine Foods is simply amazing! The store is always clean and tidy, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I frequent this place for their fantastic floral arrangements which are absolutely breathtaking and worth every penny. Even though AJ's Fine Foods is on the higher end in terms of pricing for groceries the quality of products is unbeatable. My all-time favorite thing about this place is their iced teas, especially the large passion tea with orange slice which is an absolute steal at under $2. Plus, the cookies they offer for kids are a great way to keep them happy while shopping. Overall, AJ's Fine Foods is definitely a go-to place. I would highly recommend everyone to check it out!

After years of Cracker Barrel for a thanksgiving dinner for 6, my MIL wanted to try her favorite store AJs. first of all the pickup at the Central store was mortifying. My husband I'm in line behind 70 cars. It took over an hour to pick up the food and then when he did, they weren't even organized. We got turkey breast, very salty, stuffing, dry, mashed potatoes which came without butter, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, no butter nothing else so we had to add to them and the worst green beans. I think I've ever tasted. They were so pithy although they did have butter pats on them. there were no rolls, a smidge of gravy and the cranberry relish was crunchy, and not cooked all the way. To say the least for $200 I feel it was the worst Thanksgiving tasting meal. Greatly disappointed and we will not be coming back.

What happened to this AJs? Central and Camelback. The Bistro area is awful. The display cases of salads, etc. are messy, bowls filled with the look of old salads, the glass shelves empty. Staff not helpful. The prepared meal section always looks dirty and the staff just stir the food with utensils back and forth...leave it alone...clean the counter instead...pick-up the mess at the salad bar and replenish the items that are low. How about cleaning the counter too where the straws, creamer, napkins are near the bakery... doesn't matter what time of day...always something spilled, splattered, etc. and never cleaned up! Bakery Department is constant chaos! Meat department is great. Produce is nice. Overall, staff aren't trained like in the "old" days. AJs always looked so pretty, a notch above your "regular" store but no longer at this location...too bad!

The food and coffee in there are great. You can also eat the food you bought outside in a patio area. Also, there is a large selection of wines. The fresh meat section is filled with all kinds of fresh meat. Anything you could think of I think it’s really great. I love it.

AJ's is of course a beloved fixture for Phoenician's who know they can depend on it for a variety of upscale items that go beyond just the high grade meat and delicious produce, to giftable toiletries, housewares, greeting cards, flowers, wine, and holiday items. Yes, it deserves its "Pricey" reputation. But you're often getting a superior product and that is exactly what you sometimes want. AJ's has a wonderful deli that provides excellent carry out sandwiches and salads, and even fresh-made pizza, soups, and sushi.

We go here every Sunday as it's date time for DH and I. I must admit that it may be hit or miss when it comes to getting a nonpastry item; such as slice of pizza. But the service is good and the food is good. Just don't forget to take a number when u first walk in so you're not standing there watching all the food pastries disappear in front of you

I haven’t visited an AJ’s location in FOREVER (there used to be one a lot closer to me but they closed down years ago and was replaced with a goodwill); so I recently came here to visit their coffee shop. My mom has been obsessed with their coffees as of late and recently she introduced me to their coffee. I usually order a large iced chai latte with oat milk, which is not too bad. I was pleasantly surprised with the cup size of my drink. You get great value for your money with the generous portion, and their drinks are half the price of those from Starbucks (and their portions are smaller)! They even offer a great loyalty program in store! I would definitely come here more often if this location weren’t so far in distance.

This AJ's still seems to have friendly staff even if they do stand blocking the aisle. Val Vista sometimes the staff is friendly sometimes not so I'm assuming it's a management thing. Love the selection and looking at all the different things they have that other places don't carry, they have quite alot of local offerings I bought Noble Bread for my chicken salad sandwiches.

I bought AJS shrimp cocktail worth $34.99 today, and when I opened the container an overwhelming foul smell made me gagged. I went back to the shop and returned the damn food!. Someone needs to investigate this store for selling bad food.

Great place for a change from the regular Walmart/Safeway. Don't sleep on the coffee though, low price matched with exceptional quality makes it a great alternative to Starbucks.

Expensive but good quality. Like their takeout meals. Always good. However watch your receipt they overcharged me on my bread, disappointing.
