Received a letter from AT&T to a "Jose Mavarez" at our address. There was no account number, just an order number. After spending hours on the phone and looking at the web sites, there was no way to report this issue without an account number.
If you get to a human representative, which is difficult if you don't have an account number, they will tell you to file a claim with the fraud department.
None of the options on the AT&T fraud website allows for an erroneous address. If you speak in person with a fraud representative, they will say that this issue should be handled by a "customer service representative".
The last "customer service representative" insisted that this was fraud and that the issue should be handled by the fraud department. I was told that I had to fill out an "online form" (which requires things like my ID, a fraudulent claim report, proof of my address AND a police report!). I am not comfortable providing all that information to a 3rd party about a wrong address!
I was told that this letter must have been sent to a "neighbor". I don't recognize this name.
While speaking to the 1st representative, they were able to locate "an account", which could not be shared as I wasn't the customer. By the time, I was speaking with other representatives, they claimed that they couldn't find an account for a Jose Mavarez (maybe deleted from the system while I was waiting in the phone queue?).
I was then told that this must be a phony scam letter. The phone number and address match AT& T info exactly. The logos, government notices, even the colorful envelope, etc match AT&T styles.
I am posting this info here, as I don't think filing a claim with the police for a "wrong address" is reasonable.
I did wonder if someone might be trying to have mail sent to my address for some other nefarious purpose, but haven't received anything else for this individual.

The worst experience I've ever had, they never solve your problems, on the contrary they only believe you more and they are very rude, they don't know how to treat people especially Frank is the worst of all the workers

Tried to buy the new Samsung phone however they refuse to sell phones unless you buy insurance with them. They do this to pump up their sales numbers. It's highly dishonest and predatory. I'll just find a different store. I don't do business with shady garbage like this

Tried to pre-order a phone but they wanted to try and force me to buy insurance to boost their numbers. Dishonest business. Don't play that game.
