After they bought out Community First National Bank I was still able to use the old checks. Until I gave a friend a check to help her buy a car and when she went to cash it, they wouldn't let her. I called the branch on the phone and the teller told me the check was "null and void". That same morning, another of those checks that I mailed out had cleared and I had the image on my mobile phone! The branch manager made the same claim, that it was "impossible" to cash the check I gave my friend. I had to drive over to the branch and do a withdrawal myself.Other times, twice I was on the phone with corporate customer service for an hour and 45 minutes while they monetized my ears by playing a robo-marketing loop interspersed with statements that they were experiencing unexpected high call volumes. A year after the first time, they still had not adjusted their expectations.

Horrible experience with transferring money through zelle. Tried to remedy the issue and put on a never ending loop of ignorance. Unable to solve a minor issue. God forbid something major happens. Will be closing my account soon.

Your mobile app sucks! Cant6take screen shots, can't download statements?? Hope your the next bank that goes under! Clearly your failing which is why you sold out to BMO Harris.

Called their Scottsdale bank for money market rates and got a lady that appeared verbally to be incoherent. She tried to describe 100,000 dollars as 1000 100 as a verbal comment. Then she said she would have to put me on hold because she didn't want to get in trouble and try to figure out the money market rates.So I then called their Phoenix branch and the phone rang and rang and who answers the same lady. Wow, how is this possible in this day and age. Stay away if you value your money and time.

While we don't bank there, we did have a lease through them. What an extreme hassle. From the time we first tried to talk to someone to our last contact, this bank made it difficult for us to find answers. In fact, even after we thought we were done with them, we still had issues. They continued to withdraw funds for a non-existent lease. And getting our final paperwork took over 7 weeks. Stay away!!

If I could post a negative star review it would be more honest than giving them 1 star. One of the worst places to contact. I tried to make a payment on my auto loan...it takes them over 20 mins and 6 different representatives to find my account. Never been late, never been in collections and guess what that is where my account is!!! In collections! I have all my payment stubs with the payment and confirmation from my bank showing the date they got their money. Proof is date stamped which shows I have never been LATE! Stay clear of this place!

I first was with Commercial Federal in Colorado and BOTW took over, I loved them always helpful and convenient. So I obviously have been with them FOREVER. I now live in Arizona and there is ONLY one branch close to me, well it’s 45 minutes away so I rely on mobile banking. Occasionally I need to call Customer Service which THEY NEVER answer or I might need to take that 45 minute trip to the bank but by the time I get there it’s closed and they aren’t open on Saturday!! Terrible operation practices, I guess it’s time I close that account and maybe try Chime!

At the end of June, I applied online for a mortgage loan from Bank of the West in Phoenix. I received an email response from Greg England, asking me to let him know when would be a good time to talk. Responding the same day, I told him that the next day would be good. I received an automated response saying that he would be out of the office for the next week, with instructions to contact Mike Fink. I left a voicemail for Mike Fink and never heard back from either him or from Greg England. Bank Of The West ran my credit anyway, causing that impact to my ratings. This is such an irresponsible and unresponsive office. Avoid them if you can.

My finance suggested I opened an account here because he has an account there. I've had nothing but problems. There fees are outrageous. I have a balance and there is a freeze on my account. Nobody can help me. I have daycare to pay. Now I'm blocked from my own money. I've asked to cancel my bank account many times. Joe said I should transfer my money then he can close it when at zero balance. Then I was charged more fees. I can't get it from under this establishments fees. My paychecks goes to this bank. I'm looking at homelessness now. Thanks so much.....

Stay far away from this bank. This is the worst rated bank in the south west. Even employees won't use them.

My bank suggested I call Bank of the West regarding fraud. I tried. I really did. All I got was one recording directing me to another recording only to send me back to start top tell me they have staffing issues and that the wait was over an hour. That's it. No wonder BOTW only gets a couple stars. WOW!
