Great atmosphere, and wonderful service for our large group. We had several dietary restrictions that were easily met with regular menu options. The bacon wrapped dates were a stand out appetizer, and the salmon entree was excellent! Would definitely go back.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegetarian options were on the menu and delicious!

One of the best burgers I’ve ever had but the short rib dip sandwich was a miss. Cocktails were delicious!

This was a good restaurant with several tasty options. I opted for the soup of the day, which was great, and the salmon. The salmon was cooked just right and was delicious. It is within walking distance of many of the downtown hotels.

The Blue Hound is located inside the Kimpton Palomar Hotel in downtown Phoenix. Aixa and I were celebrating our 34-year anniversary and decided to skip the Capital Grille and check out more of a local flavor in the city. Angelica who is the maitre d of the hotel secured our reservation for 8:30 p.m.Take a look at the pictures we posted. Upon entering the restaurant you'll notice beautiful bookcases and an amazing bar shelf with the huge assortment of brands ranging from tequila to whiskey to vodka. Our server Ambro did an amazing job taking care of our needs throughout the evening. She suggested that we start with the appetizer of either the bacon wrapped dates or the bruschetta shrimp so we decided to go with both of them. You can see here in some of the pictures.Because we have been drinking a little bit earlier that evening we decided to skip alcohol and went right to the main course. Aixa got the prime rib dip which she told me was absolutely incredible! She recommends ordering it when you get there. I decided to go with the blue hound burger which sounds pretty basic but it was a whole another level. It had a slab of pork belly which may sound gross to some people but it's just a super thick slice of delicious bacon. It had an aioli sauce which was to die for and it was topped with some of the most indescribably delicious ground beef I've tasted. The arugula on top gave it the perfect combination of salty peppering and fresh.I had the opportunity to meet the chef, and as those who follow me know that I'm a pretty big guy, chef Gilbert Laurie is even bigger. Full of life and excitement, he told me he's happy to be in Phoenix and excited to roll out his new menu.We decided to go with the chocolate bread pudding, but as a nice gesture they compt us to celebrate our 34 year anniversary. If you ever decide to take the leap and visit Blue hound, tell them that Hank and the Cuban Queen AIXA suggested the place. If you enjoy it, post your review and share it with us. We love to hear more!

If you want the BEST steak in town, Chef Gilbert's Coffee Crusted New York is it, better than Steak 41 or Hillstone hands down. The chocolate croissant bread pudding is also incredible. Genie makes awesome custom drinks, is very knowledgeable and so friendly. Their hostess, Gracie, is very welcoming and the decor and ambiance create an inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend!!

Food is fairly decent and drinks are worth the price. it would be nice if they switched the cocktails up more often given the craft cocktail claim but still pretty good. Could have definitely done without the female bartender's attitude. The best one there was Matt. Incredible service and great personality but heard he is no longer there which is unfortunate. He made it worth the visit every time.

We had a completely different dining experience this time versus 4 months ago. This time, the noise level was high, a birthday request was overlooked, and probably the most disappointing part was the previous menu (which we looked at on line) was no longer available. Prices increased considerably and the menu is extremely limited.

I forget which salad I got but the Caesar salad dressing was good, mild. Had a few really bitter pieces in it. Washed those down with the perfectly balanced Dr. Pepper. Kudos there. Admittedly wasn't a fan of the sardine/fish additive. I appreciate the culinary art but it took away from the dressing imo. There was also a small grainy texture noted. I'm unsure what the cause of that was but I didn't enjoy that.Lobster Mac was very good, Lobster is high quality. Flavors and Textures were perfectly balanced. Sorry I didn't take pictures. Next time!Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian options. Wouldn't recommend coming here specifically for them if you are a strict vegetarian however.Parking: Parking can be validated by establishment; unsure of the time limit however.Kid-friendliness: Not a place for children; adults and liquor; no kids menu

Although the service given by the waiting staff was great; the kitchen seemed overwhelmed. We had a pre-selected menu yet the food took a long, long, long time to come to the table. I want back for lunch the next day, great all around.

Chicken pastor was ok except the masa dumplings were hard like pencil erasers and the cilantro rice was an afterthought.. Steak and frits-steak was really very good. Lobster Mac and cheese way too expensive and lobster was like rubber. Mushrooms had a nice mix of different wild ones but the taste was underwhelming. Iceberg wedge was ok but too much inedible core was on the plate.

The atmosphere is spectacular! It was quiet when I was there on a Saturday around noon. The bartender was attentive and friendly. Had the tomato soup and its creamy and delicious! The Hapthia hype was a wonderful compliment to the soup! Orange and flavorful. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

This ever-changing menu never disappointed me. I have been there three times visiting Arizona . I will tell you this. The service is decent wouldn't give it five stars for sure, but the food makes up for it! The ambience in this place is casual fine dining really hip place. If you go on a Friday night full of business, people executives and your upper middle class kind of vibe music is good. I really have to say I enjoy going to blue hound. I got to meet the head chef in the elevator on the way up from the parking structure and he was an amazing individual. I have to say he was very kind and let us know we'd love the food and I told him I've been here before and it's been great
