No wonder they have 2.6 stars. They don’t respect their customers, their company don’t care about their customers. They will rudely cancel your reservation you made 2-3 weeks ago giving excuses saying truck is not available anymore. what does a word “RESERVATION” mean in their language? You only accept the reservation when you have the truck available. 3 weeks before i booked a truck, i had planned everything 3 weeks in advance and last day when i had to go get the truck they cancelled it on me.Edit: now i read reviews and i am not the first person they did this to. This is a scam location!!! STAY AWAY!!

People deserve recognition and thanks when warranted, although few receive theirs because we do not spend the few minutes to.I have been driving motor vehicles for over 54 years, and renting them for almost 50 years, all across the country. The staff at Phoenix Budget Truck Rental on Indian School Road in Phoenix Arizona deserve the recognition and thanks these few words may convey to them.Although not particularly well dressed when there, and hadn't shaved in days (a freedom of mine that I exercise occasionally at whim or will) I was treated with the utmost respect and professionalism by all the staff, just as readily as when expensively clothed elsewhere. From Pro Multi-Tasking Theresa doing my Rental while simultaneously answering the phones and running the front office, to Khayla in the back office popping in and out of the front with a definite handle on the pulse of the business, to Jim on the counter, who has to be a Top contender for Nicest Guy in the Whole World, this Tremendous Trio was soldiering and shouldering on, cheerfully, without regard to the failure of the AC system to the building, the glacial response of the landlord of their building to remedy, and their own abatement measures by utilizing portable ac units in the lobby for the benefit of the customers, really effective only when within proximity-which staff couldn't have had any benefit from at all, their focus on their customers and not themselves. In spite of all this, the Triumphant Trio swiftly and deftly handled the customer load with courtesy, professionalism, and a remarkably cheerful countenance.I applaud them and laud them, each and every one, more than deserving these words alone, and should well be considered for salary increases (Corporate: are you listening or reading?) which is entirely appropriate and commensurate with their widely varied skillsets, gained only by focus and dedication to us, their clientele, and practiced and performed long enough to have gained the experience to be of considerable benefit to the company, each of them sterling representatives of the Avis Budget Group.

Reserved a cargo van for 12:00 pm pick up. Drive 30 miles to go get it. Was called 15 minutes before my reservation and left a voicemail saying they couldn’t honor that reservation. I don’t answer my phone while driving and made it to the location. The staff could/would not offer any alternatives and wasted my time, money and gas. Go next door to the uhaul. The cost is a little bit more but at least you get what you reserved and their inventory is accurate.

Worst experience ever. DO NOT RENT HERE. Very rude staff, filthy trucks and not safe. First truck had service engine light, next one had leak in cab, one headlight, and she informed us was due for oil change but we should be alright...She told me to take it up with customer service after rental..wow

If there was a no star rating I would have picked it! Do not rent from this place EVER! let's start by how rude they are. We rented a truck and about 30 min into it the service engine light went on- shocker since we were laughing how this POS was going to make the trip to begin with, Upon returning it the woman comments that she won't charge me for the gas for the return of the truck. She then gives me another that had one headlight, so dirty and stunk of gas. It rattled whole time driving to the extreme. Best was it had crack that water was leaking as we drove in rain. DO NOT RENT BUDGET----they offered me $50 refund...insulting!

Really wanted to give Budget the benefit of the doubt despite these reviews. Sometimes you never know, you could get lucky with a place. But nope.Reserved a 16 foot truck with towing over 2 months ago for our out of state move. Called last week and was told everything was set for our reservation and was advised to call back again a week or so before our pick up date and double check. Called again today and was told they only have the car carrier but, per the “Inventory Manager,” there are no 16 foot trucks inbound to Phoenix at all. The lady I spoke to at this location literally told me to make a back up plan at a completely different company. I even called Budget customer service and was told they have NO trucks of ANY size in the entire state of Arizona so they couldn’t even offer me a back up option. I asked why I was able to make a reservation then for months in advance and was told that it’s “in the user agreement” that the availability is not a guarantee. Actually, the user agreement says Budget reserves the right to offer the customer alternatives if equipment/pickup date/time etc. is not available. But they couldn’t even do that for me. Just said, tough luck, find another company. What they should REALLY specify in their agreements is that the reservation won’t guarantee any equipment is available AT ALL and that this can happen even days before your reservation date.I’m really glad I called at least a week in advance and didn’t find this out the day of our move. But it sucks. We planned to pay $1200 for this one way truck and towing rental. The rates were great at Budget. But what good is a great rate if NO equipment is available by the time of your move? Now we have to find other alternative for quadruple the price. Uhaul is totally booked out everywhere. Luckily Penske had some options, but for way more money.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH BUDGET. Sure, the rates are great, but they’re useless if you can’t even get the equipment you reserved. Budget will not call you before hand with enough time to make a back up plan. I called myself because I was anxious about the trip. I’m glad I did!! Otherwise who knows when they would’ve told me. Lesson learned here. Just go with the more expensive places. At least with places like Penske, they have a guarantee the equipment will be available for your reservation. So unbelievably disappointed and upset.

I reserved a truck well in advance, about a month and a half in advance. I am moving from Phoenix to Texas. They called me a day and a half before I am scheduled to pick the truck up to let me know that my reservation will need to be cancelled. I am a single mother on a"budget" so this hurt me financially. I had to find a different truck with a competitor and they offered to pay $250. There is no amount of money that will cover the emotional anguish I experienced. Also $250 does not begin cover the different. I had to reserve a smaller 10 foot truck instead of 16 ft, which will not be enough room for all of my belongings.

The morning of our rental, we received a cheerful call that they didn't have a van that we had reserved and that we were out of luck. Luckily Enterprise rental came through at the last minute. This is not how to run a business.

Made a reservation weeks in advance and when I showed up they said they didn’t have the truck available. We had the time of pick up set at 8 and movers scheduled at 9. Luckily the uhaul next door had something available and awesome customer service. Do not go here. Seems like every customer in front of and behind me waiting also had issues.

I definitely recommend anyone who wants to rent a car to Budget Truck Rental. We rented the car for 8 days, but we returned the car 1 day earlier. We only paid for 7 days, unlike other places. They are absolutely amazing, honest, and clean. Theresa was also amazing and provided great service. I would definitely use this place if I wanted to rent a car again.

My husband had this place selected as a drop off location. After driving 3 states with AC when the gas pedal was pushed and an out of alignment truck, he put $40 cash in the tank at the gas station on the corner before dropping it off. He was told by a grungy looking older man with a goatee who checked his paperwork and had no name tag, that the gage had to be "past the F line", not at the F, which is how he picked the truck up. So he took the truck back tot he Arco on the corner and out an additional $12.83 in the truck and brought it back, dropping the keys in the box. A few weeks later Budget had the audacity to charge his card a $30+ fee for "not returning truck full". No customer service and poor excuse for a company. They won't even return our calls regarding the issue. Extremely disappointed and upset.

They really worked with me on the price and I had only one issue with ac. I called them and the mechanic was there quickly and he was nice and fast. No more issues for the rest of the cross country trip. I had a great experience.

Wish I could give half a star. You don't get your money back. They say its instantaneous. Then they say it depends on your bank!
