Update: I want to edit my previous review to state that the issue with my vehicle was addressed and it has been like 3 months since then and no more issues had appeared. My wife and I are enjoying our Jetta, and looking forward to get a new vehicle in the future, maybe VW again!

Had an offer from this dealership through CarGurus. Took the vehicle 35 miles to the dealership. They offered more than $4000 less. No inspection. No reason. They said they are a different entity from CarGurus and don’t have to honor the price. Got a response from the dealership to call the sales manager. Left a message two days ago with no reply.

If you care about your family and their safety, go somewhere else to buy a car or get it serviced.
I’ve tried to give Camelback Volkswagen multiple chances, but my experience over the past several months has been incredibly disappointing, especially considering how much trust I placed in their service department with my family’s safety.
Earlier this year, I brought my car in for service. Within 1,000 miles, one of the tires completely blew out, despite having just been inspected by VW. My wife had mentioned the tires might need replacing, but I assured her VW would have caught that. Unfortunately, she was right.
Since then, I’ve brought the car back several times for regular maintenance like oil changes and, more recently, for warning lights. About four weeks ago, I came in because the ECP light was on. I was charged a diagnostic fee and told “everything’s fine.” Two weeks later, while my pregnant wife was driving, the same light came back on, along with traction control and check engine lights. The car lost power and she struggled to safely pull over on the 51 freeway.
I had specifically asked that the car be checked thoroughly to ensure it was safe for my wife to drive, and I was reassured that it was. Less than a week later, the battery completely died while she was driving on the 202 freeway, forcing her to push the car to the side and have it towed back to VW.
That was Tuesday. By the end of the day Wednesday, after I called multiple times for an update, I was told it needed a battery and a mirror, and they were still “looking into” the other issues. Thursday went by with no communication until I called again around 4 p.m. and got the same answer, when I was first asked to approve of the new battery/mirror and approved it immediately. On Friday morning, I was told the mirror wouldn’t be in until Monday, only to later find out that the order wasn’t even placed until Thursday night after my call, delaying things further. No alternative solutions were offered during this time.
To make matters worse, I left a voicemail for Frank Cheyney early in the day and waited over eight hours with no response. I eventually had to call multiple times, and when I finally reached him, his smug and dismissive attitude immediately set the tone. Instead of showing care or concern, especially given that this situation directly affected my pregnant wife’s safety, his demeanor was aggressive and condescending, which ultimately led to a tense exchange.
Overall, the lack of communication, accountability, and concern for customer safety has been extremely frustrating. I expected far more professionalism and empathy from a certified Volkswagen service center, particularly when my family’s safety was at stake.

I was sold a car that was damaged to begin with. I was sold a warranty and told it covered everything except wheels, shocks and the such. Well I take it in today to get my ac fixed and it's not covered. So I feel I was lied to at every turn.

After finally being able to buy one of the cars, I’ve always wanted it. I’ve been having trouble finding a shop to work on it. I called into Camelback Volkswagen and Alexander was extremely helpful. He didn’t hesitate to make sure that I was taken care of. Also having a knowledge of Audi. He recommended some potential services to keep my car running at optimum performance. Will definitely be returning. Thank you again Alexander for all your amazing work.

My wife had initially leased her car from here before we were married. Her process was great, fair price, good customer service etc. That salesman that helped her left for another dealership and when it came time to do her lease buyout we went to go buyout the car through a new salesperson.
This is where our experience changed. I understand that everyone involved in the sale needs to be making some money, but I was not about to pay an extra $2500 for their “mandatory certification” on top of all of their dealer fees effectively making it $3000 more than the residual on the lease I spoke with the salesperson manger and the manger for the dealership before finally leaving because they wouldn’t budge. They told me there was no flexibility and it was mandatory I pay their fees if I wanted to a lease buyout and it would be the same everywhere. I requested to see in their policy with VW or in state and federal law where this “mandatory fee” is required and required to be at that level all they provided was a internal memo stating that they are not allowed to put doc fees and other dealer fees on sales without following criteria.
The process through VW Credit is considerably cheaper paying at residual but requires some more steps on the buyers part so I decided to still go the dealer route. But at a different dealer whose fees were not absurd. I paid $500 for their certification and lower doc fees by taking it somewhere else. I recommend no one buy a car from Camelback VW, their entire staff was rude unprofessional and only cared about was their bottom line and not making sure the customer has a positive experience and generates references. They rely on Phoenix being a big enough market that no matter how many people they screw over there will
be more willing to by a car from them.

DO NOT WALK, RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! You will get a better deal at a buy here pay here lot. A family member is currently a customer with this location and was provided the highest/most expensive car note possible. I’m pretty sure they believe that my mother and her husband are unscholarly, but little do they know I’ll be done with law school soon and would love to have a chat with their finance department.
