Cox is the closest thing to a monopoly in Arizona and all they do is raise prices without notice. They use no contracts as a selling point so they’re able to raise prices at will, whenever. Competition has slow speeds so Cox takes advantage by charging for everything they possibly can. Disgusting amount of greed. My bill has doubled in the last 3 years for the same exact plan.

Cox is going to be losing customers left and right, Something has changed with your company. And it is not good. I Had Cox internet for over 10 years. Upgraded to thier new
modem package. All the sudden over data every month
with charge, only thing that changed was thier modem 10yr
of history never over, now over. Contacted them and they put me
on unlimited plan for 140$ a month. Bill varied from 160 to
210 over 3 months. They added a netfilx subscription I
never requested. Cancelled service with COX after this.
Then they send me a final statement due DEC 8 2026 for
451.24. However they drafted my account on 11-17 for 451.24
without approval. Equipment returned 11-17 later that day. Got another notification 11-18 balance due of 451.24 after equipment return. My account was drafted before the statement was sent! Now if I contact billing they hang up on me. So done with your company. We had a good 15 year or so run but good bye. Never again.

WOW!!!! What horrible reviews and no response from anyone at cox. This is what happens when there’s only one company that provides the services that cox provides. I thought MONOPOLIES were illegal but I guess not. They are the only ones so they don’t care about reviews or the customers that pay for their wages. The phone support is horrible nobody to talk to in the US so all of the phone support is in another country where they don’t understand the language for one they don’t have knowledge of the products or how the service works so it’s just a waste of time. I had to go into the store where the employees were busy watching YOUTUBE instead of helping the customers that were waiting. The new mobile service is terrible nobody spam blocking and no third party spam blocker will work because cox won’t allow it. I signed up for the mobile service and the spam calls tripled and COX would not do anything. So I got a different mobile provider. I’m still trying to get through to customer service but the only customer service can’t help period. It sad that a company like COX that makes plenty of money has to outsource phone support and take jobs away from America the country that your customers are in and make it more difficult for the customer to access help. Very disappointing Americans are losing jobs and the quality of the customer service that is outsourced. If there were another internet provider I would leave COX forever. Horrible Company!!!!!!!!

In my opinion Cox does not have customers. They have hostages. I signed a 1 year contract 6 years ago and when I went to cancel (got better service/connectivity/ease of use for a fraction of the cost at T mobile hotspot - and I did it in the span of a few hours vs. the several days I was waiting for them to restore service) they said contract renewed yearly and that is how they could guarantee the price for a year 🤯🤯🤯!!!! Rather than capitulate to what I would characterize as extortion and monopolistic practices, I have chosen to fight their strong armed tactics - simply on principle (leaving a review of my experience and opinion is one example of this).
Having said that all that - in my experience they do excel at some things:
-Telling you to go pound sand with what I can only imagine is a gleeful smile and thick condescension
-Asking if there is anything else they can do for you after telling you there is nothing they can do about the problem you called about (which they caused in the first place)
-Wonderful tech support that walks you thru how to unplug your modem, wait 20 seconds and plug it back.
- when you ask them to see a copy of the contract they say you would have contact another dept but can't tell you which
- Great outage updates to your cell as they push out the timeline of when service will be restored in your area because they couldn't meet capacity on their horrible network
Lots more but I will spare you...

If I could give zero stars, I would.
I’ve been dealing with Cox Communications for over 5 1/2 at Moreno Apartments in Scottsdale, and the experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. In that time, I’ve lived in two different units in the same building—both remodeled, both with the same issue: the cable and internet have never worked properly.
Despite paying for the most expensive internet and cable package in Arizona—Gigablast speed—I still experience constant buffering, even on my phone. Cox claims to offer the fastest, most reliable service, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
To make matters worse, the billing has been a disaster. Our building was supposedly switched to the bulk billing department over a month ago, yet I’m still being harassed daily for an $80 bill that should’ve been resolved three months ago. I’ve paid my bill, and the very next day I get another reminder to pay again. It’s relentless.
I’m a disabled veteran living with a disabled senior, and this constant harassment—despite receiving no working service—is unacceptable. Over 40 technicians have come out, and still, nothing works. Cox Communications has shown zero care, zero accountability, and zero results.
This is being reported to the Arizona Attorney General. If you have any other option besides Cox, take it. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the endless frustration.

Avoid at all costs. Horrible customer service, exorbitant pricing, and deceptive business practices. There are plenty of much better options.

I’ve been using this company for my business internet, and the experience has been frustrating from the start. The connection constantly drops, speeds are inconsistent, and service outages happen far too often especially during business hours when reliability matters most.
Customer support is nearly impossible to deal with. You spend forever on hold, get transferred multiple times, and rarely reach anyone who can actually solve the problem. Even when they promise a fix, the same issues keep coming back.
On top of that, the pricing keeps going up every year, even while the service quality gets worse. They also lock you into long-term contracts that make it difficult or expensive to cancel, it feels like you’re stuck paying more for less.
For a business service, this level of inconsistency and lack of accountability is unacceptable. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere for reliable, fairly priced internet service

Cox doesn’t seem to care that fiber is being dug all over the valley. ATT trucks just finished up and GFiber trucks are surveying as I’m typing this. I called Cox and asked if they could get my $150 dollar bill down to a competitive price, and I had to be transferred 3 times before I got to a rep that started asking me questions about my personal life like “how do you use the internet”. Then they tried to upsell me with a cell phone plan and only lower the cost for 24 months!? Please don’t do business with a company so blind, they can’t even see the writing on the wall. Cox, you have real competition now and the minute that fiber lights up, I’m done with you… Especially in this economy.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Cox has a monopoly in our area, so they charge outrageous prices for unreliable service. Outages are constant, customer support is unhelpful, and every month it feels like the bill goes up while the quality goes down. It’s frustrating to pay premium prices for internet that barely works half the time.
I’m done dealing with their excuses — I’m switching to Elon Musk’s Starlink as soon as possible. If you have any other options in your area, avoid Cox at all costs.

Worst cell phone service I've ever had! I have had them as a provider for a little over 2 months now and I have unlimited data. But at the beginning of every cycle, after 3 days at work, listening to my music, my data gets throttled down so low, I can no longer use my phone effectively. Songs will stop playing almost a dozen times during the same song just to load. Everything that uses data runs like shit! CHOOSE A DIFFERENT PROVIDER, I'M DROPOING THEM FOR A BETTER PROVIDER!

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS - This is the worst company to do business with. Avoid at all costs. Never sign a contract with them. Never accept any equipment form them. Never believe the sales reps commentary about upgrading services. If I could give this company a 0-stars or negative stars I would.

My wife and I have been a cox customer for over ten years , paid ontime always , started having trouble with cameras blank all day , internet dropping out for hours at a time , this was going on for almost a year. My wife works from home , it cost us alot of money for missed work hours. Cox supervisor named charity promised to credit a months bill. Never happened. when we called in to find out why they said there's no record and they would listen to phone call and reach back out , month went by nobody reached out. Called back talked to supervisor told them about all conversations and promised credit , he simply stated not going to happen , not going to listen to any phone call and not going to give you a full months credit regardless of what my supervisor said. Could have cared less about this customer. Buyer beware, they don't stand by their product , their word and most importantly their customer.

Cox – The Ultimate Ripoff Artists Abusing Their Monopoly
Cox is the absolute worst internet provider out there, and they get away with it because they have a monopoly in many areas. As customers, we are stuck with their terrible service and extortionate pricing because there are no other options. It’s beyond frustrating how they take advantage of their monopoly to steal from their customers.
They constantly overcharge for subpar internet, hit you with hidden fees, and raise prices without notice.
Cox’s business model seems to be “exploit customers as much as possible,” and they do it with no shame because they know you don't have no alternatives. Their data caps are an outright scam – designed to squeeze more money out of you, and it’s absurd how they justify charging for overages when they already overcharge for basic service.
The way Cox treats its customers is downright abusive, and they only get away with it because of their monopoly. It’s time for people to speak out and for regulators to step in. Until then, stay far away from Cox if you have any other choice.

I have been a Cox customer for a while, and I can confidently say that the only reason they retain so many customers in Arizona is because there are limited internet options. If there were more competition, I’m certain they would lose a significant portion of their client base.
Their customer support, especially the chat service, is among the worst I’ve encountered with any company. The agents are often unresponsive, unhelpful, and seem uninterested in actually resolving issues. It’s incredibly frustrating when they don’t take accountability for their mistakes and refuse to offer any compensation, even when the issues are clearly on their end.
Cox seems to take advantage of their limited competition, but they really need to step up in terms of customer service and accountability. If you have other internet options, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
