The East Maryland team has taken great care of my Boxer for the past 10 years and they truly care. The doctors are thorough and always follow up to check on her.

This vet is definitely for wealthier clients and their dogs. If you're a young person who might be on a budget, do not go here. They took care of my old dog who just needed to be made comfortable, and my mom had the funds to do it, but they have not been helpful at all with taking care of my younger rescue. My dog Momo has had stomach issues for a while now, and this vet practice has not been a good experience. I paid $65 to have the vet tell me she wasn't going to do anything until I fed him nothing but his prescription food for a whole month, which is when I could pay for another checkup if the stomach issues still persisted. I told her that we have had him on just his script food before, but the issues still presented, she didn't believe me. Fair enough, we have him on just his script food for a whole month after this appointment, stomach issues still there like I knew they would be. Next appointment, she jumps to these insanely expensive tests and doesn't even mention anything else. I can't afford any of it and tell her I'll let her know. After digging for some info on his condition (he doesn't have the enzyme that breaks down protein, he's a vegetarian) and seeing if the stomach issues could be related, I read about how it could possibly be a parasite and that produces symptoms similar to what he was having, this was about a week or two after that last appointment. So I called and asked if I could get a stool sample tested for parasites to at least rule that out, the vet hadn't mentioned it, blah blah blah, and she said I would have book a whole new appointment for that, which of course happened to go up to $85 in between the couple weeks I had first taken him. I'm not exaggerating when I say I started ugly crying on the phone to her and I couldn't afford that. I wish I could remember her name because she was very helpful and vouched to the vet for me and got me the test retroactively included for the previous appointment. The other thing that rubbed me the wrong way was on one of his first appointments he was there for a bump on his thigh that needs to removed, and I wanted an estimate for how much they would charge for that, and they said they would email me the estimates. Never got an email, I even checked my spam folders. Got busy with life, called back about a month later, informed them of their mistake, and they told me too much time has passed in between, and now I need to pay for another general checkup to get those estimates... what the actual f***?If your pet has complicated health problems, I would not go to this vet. They seem equipped only for the basic health problems and pets getting older.

We trust East Maryland to care for our pets and have been doing so for over a decade. Dr. Martens is great! She takes the time to explain everything, has a positive attitude and makes us feel secure that our fur baby is getting the best of care. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful and the techs are all very warm and caring when handling pets.

Every staff member is helpful and kind. I cannot say enough about Dr. Martens who has known my cat since she was 3 months old. Lacee is now entering the end stages of her adult life at 15. We are focusing on managing my pets pain to optimize her care at this time. I appreciate Dr. Martens philosophy regarding quality of life and I trust in her judgement to advise me when it will be time to say goodbye to my sweet baby. Thank you for your compassion and caring. It is so appreciated more than you know.

I normally do not leave reviews but MEGAN does not acquire empathy or concern for you and your pet. Someone else should consider being hired for this position. You will never gain my business and I will let other know of her lack of customer service.
