This location still uses AI. It isnt the locations fault but hertz in general but it is still a major issues causing fake claims of damage. This technology should not even be allpwed to use and customers should beware of the anticustomer policies these companies take. You dont have a right to my money as a customer unless you provide an honest, moral and uncommon service. It os also worth noting that sometimes of days they essentially appear to cut most staff and no one is right there to check out vehicles even during low traffic. Usually checkout is fine and this was a specific problem today and occasionally on other low traffic days

Excellent and quick service. I liked being able to just hop in the car and take off. Very easy drop off as well.

I booked and prepaid with skip the line pickup. I was assigned a vehicle with a specific license plate. Went to pickup my vehicle and they gave it to someone else. They put me in a smaller vehicle and charged me for the smaller vehicle rental after I prepaid for my booking. Will never use hertz again. Would rather pay extra to use National.

Yikes! Hertz at Phoenix Airport missed the mark! I am not sure if they even realize that they are working alongside the voted “friendliest airport in the US” but it doesn’t seem like they got the memo. The staff were completely unprofessional and I wish I was exaggerating. The first teller basically laughed in our face and mocked us. Which hey… maybe the guy was having a bad day- so we went down to the office for gold status in hertz.
This is when I realized that this Hertz branch has a culture problem not a single bad employee attitude problem. We stood there for about 5 minutes before the two employees who were just chatting with each other even acknowledged us. The young man who was “assisting” us with our rental was sarcastic, rude and extremely unhelpful. Their unprofessional behavior was just a disappointment we have vowed to never use Hertz again. This Hertz needs to reevaluate their leadership team. We immediately went to Enterprise, who provided excellent customer service and not one sarcastic/rude comment.

We had to exchange cars and they made it painless. I appreciated their professionalism and the efficiency of the staff. This is why I go with HERTZ.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!
This Hertz Phoenix location is a total scam and extremely unprofessional. They used my credit card to pay for someone else’s reservation under the name John Lewis #120710590—a person I don’t even know and sent me his receipt and tell me that I am fully responsible for that person?. On top of that, they charged my card for other clients as well.
How does this even happen? I only rented for 2 days, and now I’m stuck dealing with my bank to dispute fraudulent charges and replace my card. If you rent here, be prepared for your card information to be misused.
Do yourself a favor: avoid this location at all costs.

So I decided to become a Gold account holder to get special services. I've just been informed I need to get my car back to Hertz by 1 O'clock today or I'm being charged for another day. This is very interesting as I picked the car up 6 days ago at 3 O'clock in the afternoon so apparently a Hertz day is 22 hours, good to know. Also I was guaranteed a Jeep rental and I booked it 3 weeks in advance. When I got to the airport the Jeep wasn't available so I took whatever they had. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company, I will be doing just that from now on.

Agent was very slow and demanded in a non-polite way that I not look at my phone at all during our transaction. She first barked at me “eyes up here” when I was trying to check my credit card account that I was going to use for the rental and then she asked me if I was on my phone when I was trying to close out my Lyft ride and tip on the Lyft app. I told her I did not like the way she was speaking to me and I asked her to speed up our transaction because the Hertz line and my transaction were very slow. I also told her that my minor son was waiting in the lobby far away from me and I did not feel good about taking so long on the transaction and being so far away from him. She did not like what I said and she called the manager Enrique. I had to wait 5-10 mins for Enrique to arrive. Enrique did not apologize and did not say anything to make me feel better. He encouraged me to leave a bad review as I mentioned that I would and he stated that I should rent from another car rental agency next time. I said I would and I would not be doing business with Hertz. There was no sign on the desk that said cell phones were prohibited from being looked at during the transaction.

Loooooooooong lines. It took me almost two hours to finally get my car and hit the road. If you are a business traveler, AVOID. They had two employees servicing a line of 40 people. The online check in system did nothing. One agent literally did nothing but decorate and arrange the signage on her desk while the other two chatted up customers who just wanted to get their car and go. When you finally get your car (good luck finding it— the parking space numbers are all over the place in no particular order) then you face the final round of tollbooth exit things with another 40 cars waiting to exit. This company needs to go out of business

I just wanted to compliment Lisa and her trainee Queen who went above and beyond to help get us a suitable car and on the road after our flights from Australia to Phoenix. Both were caring, helped with suggestions of suitable cars and got us the best deal possible. So if you're arriving in Phoenix to pick up a car ask for Lisa or Queen. 5 🌟

Nothing better than getting to your rental car to find out it’s not what you reserved. Then you get to sit for 30 min in line trying to exit the parking garage because they have AI running the show. Awesome experience. Presidents circle member here, and this is the last time I will use Hertz.

If I could give it zero stars I would. This place will screw you over before ever helping you. They will take your money and laugh when you have problems. Go next door to enterprise it’s well worth it. Spenser was great at enterprise and gave us an upgrade because hertz screwed us

Used Enterprise instead. I had a car all ready to rent and we get off the plane to pick it up and and told that they have to put the deposit and the fee on the same card when I explicitly asked to split them. Then they did a soft credit check saying I did not qualify. My husband then took over and they told him he was approved then a minute or so later says oh wait no you aren't so we are stranded without a car in another state. My brother calls them to rent the car for us and they said he would have to be there to be put on as a driver the only problem is he was in Florida and we were in Arizona. This took 45 minutes to an hour of our day. My husband then walked over to Enterprise and they had us in a car within 10 minutes and out of the airport. Stay away from Hertz! They are a joke AND NOT customer friendly!

Easy pickup and return of rental car. Well marked.
