Our 1,700 mile move with Mayflower from Arizona to Tennessee was a 5-star experience from start to finish. It started with a very comprehensive video inventory with a detailed list in writing. The agent, Byron, based the price on that inventory. Just before the move he reduced the price according to a reduced inventory that I supplied.
Our driver was Anthony. On moving day he arrived on schedule. He wrote a detailed list as the truck was packed. Everything was handled professionally.
Five days later we met at a storage unit 1,700 miles away exactly at the day/time agreed to. Actually, Anthony was 45 minutes early.
That’s when the trouble started….with the storage facility. The unit we paid for was given to someone else. Several hours later, after moving the 80 foot truck to another facility with more issues, Anthony and his crew worked through the day with us. Anthony’s willingness to do whatever it took to take of us was simply amazing. And neither he nor Mayflower ever asked for another penny for all the additional time and trouble.
And thanks to Sarah who coordinated everything and accommodated our demanding schedule requirements.
Yes, their estimate was a little higher, but in the end we received more than we paid for.

Incredibly disappointed with the “service” that Mayflower offered to us. The team that “helped” us with our PCS to Fort Huachuca did the bare minimum when it came to our move. They refused to unpack boxes and would only drop boxes off. The team was in and out in 2 hours.
Out of 6 PCS’, Mayflower is by far the worst company we’ve have encountered in the moving business. Wholly unprofessional and unhelpful. We have reported them to our Transportation Office. Any other Army personnel moving to Fort Huachuca would do well to put Mayflower on their “Do Not Use” list when working with your Transportation Office.
I was not surprised to see that this company already has a 2.1/5 review average. We have heard horror stories from fellow Servicemembers about Mayflower and have now encountered it ourselves.

Extremely dishonest. Thieves the way I see it. My Mom is moving to Ingleside TX from Cheyenne WY and has a 10×15 storage where everything was to be moved. I overhead the discussion when she was getting the quote, on the telephone..."i have some things that are 6 ft high...i have art work" and ect. They quoted her $3300 for the whole job. She gave them a third of the $3300 over the phone, was to pay them the other third on the initial meeting and the last payment was to be made when they arrived at her new residence. She met them at the storage unit and when she opened it, they said it's going to double what we originally quoted. $6600! Really? They said it was because it was bigger than they thought. How can it be more than a 10x15 storage?Pretty manipulative, as she was quite vulnerable at that moment. I mean she wants her households belongings to get to TX but at double the price they quoted her, not but a week ago? Also she will loose the third, $1100 she's already put down on the move, with her credit card. She said No! And I am proud! But i feel very deceived by Mayflower moving. I wonder if it's a scam they pull on other unaware consumers? They quoted her, they met her for 15 minutes and bam! They made $1100. Pretty good for 30 minutes of someone's time.Lastly, they said she had to pay the balances with postal orders...how easy is that to return? She got cashier's checks instead. Those must be returned by the person(s) on the checking account. In the end, I am disgusted by Mayflower's practices.

The cost of the move was a lot more than any other moving company by a lot, but they are a top moving company so we decided to go with them. Everything went really good, until it was all said and done I was billed another $216.05 because my household items were dropped off at a storage unit instead of a house. I was told it was because they stack everything in the truck heavy to light and they need to double handle to reverse the same process. So its apparently more work to put items straight into a unit than putting things in a 2 story house...hmm. The additional fee is not a lot but when you pay the price I paid themthis added amount (which they never told me about even though they knew the items were going into a storage unit) is just feels like gouging.

We had used Mayflower/United for 2 previous moves, so hired them again. The first 2 weren’t the greatest but this 3rd move was horrible . First off virtual “estimate” which is an actual because it was bound. The driver said weight was way over actual. Absolutely mo change on what they charged us. The driver had himself so booked that he was early in our scheduled timeframe. No care other than for himself. Then to unload all they needed was to unload into my son’s garage. Three boxes marked for kitchen at my son’s….all buried in the back of garage!! There were pieces to this and that from one side of the garage to the other. Who knows where any hardware is for anything!!! We are just now 2 weeks later going through it and unloading the garage for the wardrobe boxes buried and the 3 boxes for my son’s kitchen. They could have taken some time to somewhat put the kitchen boxes marked clearly for in the house and wardrobe boxes where we could get to them. Pieces of furniture not even stacked together and on their sides!! So much wrong with this move and not enough time or space to continue. Extremely disappointed and never a thing done for us for all the inconveniences. I definitely say stay away and check out other companies!!!! I’ll never recommend or use Mayflower/United again. Pricing was bad and absolutely no care about it from them.

I used Mayflower's moving and storage services for an out of state move almost 2 years ago. The moving part seemed to go well, but the storage in their Phoenix facility was atrocious. They damaged 21 of my ~300 items - 20 pieces of furniture and one box that had been clearly pierced by a forklift. They wouldn't respond, and I argued with them for months to get money for repairs. Of course, they didn't send me a survey to fill out. Once the "home office" knew I had a problem (on the day my furniture was delivered), they never called back. Never apologized. The delivery drivers told me the Phoenix warehouse workers could care less about the customer's goods, and threw them around. I'd give them zero stars if I could. They also never advised me of the Department of Transportation rules of arbitration. Don't use them!

Booked my move from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to Tempe, Arizona, through Dirck's Moving Company. Dirck's is a Mayflower affiliate and was recommended because they do a lot of work for Arizona State University. Motley crew showed a day late to pack and load my goods. Delivery "guaranteed" for Friday, February 5, 2021, (no moving company will "guarantee" an exact date, for sometimes understandable reasons). I received a call on Thursday saying my move-in would change from Friday morning to Friday afternoon. Then, several hours later, Dirck's said my move was delayed until Tuesday, February 9. That just threw me into a tizzy. It meant my daughter wouldn't be able to help me unpack (she's particularly good about kitchen organization). It created a hassle for the place I'm moving into. It was simply unacceptable, but there was nothing I could do. As it turned out, the stuff arrived Monday afternoon. Another motley crew unloaded my stuff. And the only good thing about this whole experience: not a single item was broken or damaged, save a major ding to a bedroom dresser. All in all, an unpleasant experience. I'd not recommend Dirck's or Mayflower.

Very poor customer service. I turned down even making an appointment for a quote because of how disengaged the person on the phone was. Poor thing sounded miserable.
