Carniceria La Hispana is a meat market/grocery store/restaurant/convenience store all rolled-up into one location. It's in a ghetto neighborhood, but they have the best home-made Mexican food - better than the places I've gone to in South LA. Everything is made from scratch. They use really fresh meat and give you really big portions. They have everything from quesadillas and ceviche to carne asada/carnitas/pollo tacos, Mexican soups, tamales, etc. The prices are very very good as well! They sometimes have specials that are a steal. It is very family owned so they accommodate the menu to your liking. If you want shrimp in your quesadilla, and even if it's not on their menu, they'll do it. You can also ask them to cook a piece of meat they sell in their meat market section. The 'restaurant' part of the store is in the back so many people oversee it. The seating is also limited so a lot of people order to-go.
