Very interesting little museum & outdoor structures. A lot of info packed into a small corner of the city. A nice one hour visit for those interested in history & indigenous people
January 2024
This is a very small museum. Most of the artifacts are outdoors. We went during a day when it was forty five degrees fahrenheit and we're freezing.
December 2023
Several reconstruted buildings.I would rrcommend a sun hat no shade for most of the walk around.
From S'edav Va'aki Museum (formerly Pueblo Grande Museum)
S'edav Va'aki Museum (formerly Pueblo Grande Museum) is located on a 1,500 year-old archaeological site once inhabited by the Ancestral Sonoran Desert People (Hohokam). We're located just minutes from downtown Phoenix next to Sky Harbor International Airport. Accessible by the Sky Train and the Light Rail.
This National Historic Landmark and Phoenix Point of Pride is the largest preserved archaeological site within Phoenix. A fully accessible 2/3 mile trail takes you through a prehistoric Hohokam village site with a partially excavated platform mound (va'aki), ballcourt, and replicated prehistoric houses. The Museum consists of 3 indoor galleries, a theater, and gift shop.
