My family has explored several historical homes around this era over the past few years. I have to say in comparison this tour could use some work. It felt under staffed and I could barely hear the guide because we all did not fit in the room. We did this as a homeschool Tour and kids were $9 and adults were $15. In comparison to other homeschool events. I would have enjoyed this event more if adults were free as the focus was on the children.

What a beautiful and fascinating place! Sarah was so knowledgable and is an excellent presenter. A must see if you love historic house museums as much as I do.

Such a well preserved Queen Anne! Everytime Im on vacation I make it a point to visit a historical home. This one is incredible, the guided tour is highly informative and interesting. The staging in every room is period appropriate and wonderful to learn about. Afterwards make sure to grab a drink or bite to eat at Latha next door! Was the perfect end to our Sunday afternoon

The tour is very informative. Its engaging and educational at the same time. One thing that struck me was how well preserved everything was. If felt like stepping into a time capsule, and i couldn't help but appreciate the dedication to maintain this piece of history.

Jessica, our tour guide this evening did an outstanding job, feeding us lots of information about the area. We were looking forward to touring the house at Night but that is only in the day time. ( wish the website said something about this) so of ur looking for a late night walk in hopes to tour the house you will have to do a daytime tour. Not as fun as a night time tour.

More than your average docent tour! I've done these in many places but never felt like it was an experience initself, usually just a pleasant stroll with general anecdotes. The amazing lady (forgot her name) who did my tour has a real passion, broad historical knowledge, & a very human touch. Whether you care about history or not, this is genuinely both fun & interesting. One of the only local experiences that will leave you feeling happy & satisfied with how you spent your time!

Beautiful little mansion. The tour is informative and you really get to see a lot of the house. Interesting backstory to the house.

I love all things Victorian and was so excited to see this Museum. We dropped everything and drove as fast as we could to make it to the tour. We parked in the parking garage and got our parking ticket validated which didn't end up working and we had to pay full price always. The gentleman that sold the ticket also was the tour guide. He was not very personable or nice when I tried to make a joke. He was all work. We waited for a bit and then met him at the front door. He let us in and then locked us in. I'll be honest, if you are claustrophobic this may be a very difficult tour to go thru. The panic set in, but I tried to remain calm. It does not help that the air is very hot as well, true to the Victorian no A.C. times. Now I will say its also a bit awkward because the spaces to stand are small and there are other people on the tour trying to look at everything. You are allowed only on the maroon carpet to keep the integrity of the place. As for the home itself. It is very beautiful. I loved the decor, the family's history and all the small details. All of that makes the tour worth it. If you are an enthusiast, you won't be disappointed. So we went downstairs of the home and saw the kitchen and the tour ended abruptly. There was no forewarning that was the last room. He literally pulls up a door and says, "well thanks for coming." We all looked at each shocked and stood around confused. I am giving you that warning now. Otherwise, this is a great tour and we left feeling that was the best $15 a ticket spent.

While Phoenix, for me, was largely spent not being in Phoenix, but taking day trips along Route 66, the Grand Canyon & elsewhere, there were certain things I couldn't help but be impressed by on my first visit. One of them was the Rosson House, a Victorian with some distinctive elements that might also be found in examples of French & Asian architecture, built in 1895. Built from red brick & not adobe, it's a fairly early example of the switch in construction materials & featured all the then modern conveniences, like indoor plumbing, electric lights, a telephone line & gas stove.

The house, tour, and surrounding area were so amazing and enjoyable. We got our tickets at the building next door and enjoyed the gift shop and history wall while waiting for the tour to start. The tour guide was funny and knowledgeable. The house itself is so detailed and fancy and historically accurate (except for the AC but I welcomed that!) Well worth the $12.

The wife and I had an excellent time learning some interesting local history at the Rosson House! I couldn't be happier with how our little day trip went. The tour guide, Cara, was so polite and did an amazing job with our group. The whole campus is simply stunning, they take great care in preserving the history here.
