Love this place. It’s out in farmland, knowledgeable staff, decent prices and has a farmy feel.

Today was our second visit to the nursery and Kim has helped us both times. She’s a plant guru! She’s so knowledgeable, answers all our questions and is beyond helpful. We purchased banana trees and soil our first visit and today we bought a pomegranate tree, almond bushes, soil and compost. We’ll be back in March for an avocado tree also! You must give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. Maybe you’ll get lucky and get to pet one of the cats that help care for the nursery too! Don’t forget to check out the koy pond while you’re there, this nursery has more to offer than just plants! So thankful to Yuma Vet for referring us. We’ll be back, even if it’s a 2hr drive for us, it’s worth it!

I just went here for the first time. The nursery is just beautiful. My experience was alright, I enjoyed perusing the aisles and found a couple things I wanted, but gave up on the rest. There's good selection but things aren't labeled very well. Parking is limited. The employees seemed so nice online and on Facebook I thought they might be similarly helpful, but they just seemed inconvenienced or overwhelmed. And when I did talk to them they were a little sassy. Lol. I think they assume everyones been here before and know the tango. Sorry maybe my feelings are hurt a little. I'll try coming back on a less busy day next time. In the meantime my takeaway is that if it's your first time here I suggest avoiding Saturday if you can, or expect self-service.

This nursery is really cool, great selection, and you can see what's possible to grow in this desert with a bit of thought and mulch ha. I see people complaining about Shamus- the man is next level knowledgeable and thought provoking. Don't be afraid y'all. You have to be a little bit mad to grow tropicals in the desert and convince others of what is possible! I have had great results with Mulberries, fruit trees, bamboo and royal poinciana from this nursery and following their advice. Don't miss out on the flash sales too!!

Don and the crew are amazing at what they do. They’re all very knowledgeable when it comes to what to feed, how to water and when to shade. I’ve purchased numerous trees here, and if you follow Don’s instructions, your trees will grow and prosper for years to come. Also, this is important; when you buy a tree, you should really get bags of soil, worm castings and compost, you’ll thank me and Don later!

This would be a 5 star review but I just don't understand why Mr O'Leary finds it necessary to speak to his customers as if we are stupid. It's happened multiple times and it's a shame because it's really nice place but he needs to work on his communication style.

The owner and staff are friendly and take the time to learn your name if they see you there a few times. The plants are healthy and great quality. The compost helps them thrive, and they’ve created an atmosphere that feels like a tropical haven. It inspires you to try new things. Easily my favorite place to shop.

They have good collection, of tropicals but expensive . Wear shoes and go cos they have sign that says venomous snakes. I did not get much help , the guy who billed me was not sure about some questions I asked . Had also sent some emails to them about plant care cos the one I bought wasn't doing well, no response .So do some research and get the plant if it's expensive.

What an amazing place! The staff is so knowledgeable and friendly. I was shocked when the lot attendant personally parked our car, had ice cold beverages and welcoming balloons upon our arrival. The celebrity level treatment was unmatched. Thank you for applying the wheel protectors so our tires didn’t get dusty on the way out. ???

A great place to find rare and exotic tropical trees and plants! All staff were very knowledgeable and friendly during our visit and were very patient answering all our questions. Loved sitting in the shade by the beautiful pond to cool down. Their facebook group and youtube videos have so much information to help you succeed growing tropicals in AZ. Will definitely be back!

I really wanted to love my experience with Green Life and Shamus O Leary given some of the unique trees that are available. I visited the nursery a couple months ago. I asked for help with ideas on what to plant and had a layout of my home to review. No help was provided and I was told to just look around. I had a couple of trees I wanted to make sure would work, but felt left to my own devices. I purchasing over $500 of fruit trees. One of the trees, a strawberry tree, is dead a I called to see about getting it replaced. I was told there are no warranties on the trees, they are tropical and not really meant for our climate, and what did you expect given this cold winter. Well, it's not what I expect from a nursery and I won't be making the long trek back there again.Wasn't even instructed how to care for my over $500 in purchases and yes I did have them covered during cold spells and deep layer of mulch. Pretty sure I was sold a tree that was already dead. But thanks for your response and it's only further cements my feelings about this place.

I was in here for the first time today. I have a large home garden and I am looking to add a few fruit trees. So far looking online I was impressed with the price of the trees I purchased and I got 3 trees, banana, fig and Asian pear. A man with strawberry hair was asking people if they needed help and he was coming my direction so I approached him and asked where they had the trees I was looking for and mentioned where I live in hopes that he would help me with some planting ideas and soil amendment recommendations, instead he quickly replied with a snarky attitude, "Congratulations!" Who does that? Wow, ok just trying to support your small local business, I did purchase 3 trees and I had planned to go back for more plants for my various garden projects but I am not sure I will. It was also very hard to get around, especially with your purchase. The woman who helped me out at checkout was nice and helped us find the 3rd tree we were looking for. Not sure what happened to that guy before this to be such a jerk but I hope things get better for him.

We bought 2 royal palms and a triangle palm. So beautiful and unique. Better price for the size then other nurseries we've bought from in the past. Shamus himself helped us and is very knowledgeable and willing to help. Delivery and planting costs extra. We dug our own holes but paid for delivery. We don't have a truck or trailer. They were delivered in 2 days.

Plant lover's best kept secret in the valley. I have been buying tropical and subtropical plants from Shamus O'Leary since 2014 or so and I keep coming back. There is always something new to see and checkout. This is also one of the few nursery in the valley where the staff knows what they're talking about. Walk around the property and you will see many mature tropical fruiting trees that has been growing in soil for many years.Go there if you want to recharge, get inspired or just simply want to escape into a tropical paradise in the middle of a desert.

Always a great day visiting the nursery. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Their nursery is well maintained, organized and clean. They now offer delivery and I was so happy that they could deliver my Barbados cherries. That left us more room for bananas grapes and citrus. I’d highly recommend their delivery service and know the staff will pick out the best trees for your garden.
