It's not a good start to a decades-long relationship. The installers didn't provide the correct documentation so SRP wouldn't approve the interconnection. Then my contacts at SunRun (Ian and Rhett) stopped answering my texts. Customer service was hit and miss (the live chat was terminated by the agent (Lari and Angelica Mae--two names given inexplicably) before she gave me an answer; when I called, the customer service rep couldn't tell me anything about my system and didn't have the phone number of the new person on my account--first I had heard that there was a new person).I will update if SunRun actually gets back to me and resolves this.Update (3/27/2023): So after several attempts, I have been in contact with SunRun, but when one thing gets resolved, another pops up. My system is now working correctly (after some confusion between SunRun and SRP (my utility) about whether the meter had been installed), but the app data is disappointing for two reasons:1. The power data are incorrect, showing a peak of 0.8 kW when my system is much larger.2. The power data are delayed by 24-36 h, which makes it impossible for me to optimize my power consumption to match the system production.I am waiting to be contacted about these two new issues.Update #2 (6/7/2023): Aulana passed me off to Lainey, who expressed great interest in dealing with my issues. But have not heard from her since I sent a message on 5/31/2023. Still waiting for my issues to be addressed...Update #3 (1/20/2024): Under a year in and my system isn’t going to come close to producing the estimated amount of energy. I have asked SunRun three times for assistance and am still waiting to hear back.The service of this company is truly awful. I really hope I can update this post with some good news on service improvements.

If one of these losers knocks on your door, your best bet is to answer with a shotgun in hand because their only purpose in life is to rob you. They will promise to make your electric bill go away, but your bill will dramatically increase and your are stuck paying for their panels

Sunrun is a walking time bomb for solar panels on roofs . My parents have 33 panels on there roof. The panels don't produce enough to even pay on there 20 year lease. They also install the panels on 12 year old damage roof also . I also have a pigeon haven under there panels

This company is horrible. Their sales people give you a sales pitch that does not tell you all the facts, just what makes it sound good. They prey on elderly people and get them into a contract that makes no sense for them. The truth is that they are signing you up for a 25 year lease of this solar energy system. You cannot get out of the lease unless you pay them an astronomical amount of money, much more than the system is worth. You cannot sell your house unless you can find a buyer that would be willing to take over this 25 year lease or you are willing to pay the company the amount of money they demand.Good luck trying to communicate with them. We send emails that never get responses. We have called numerous times. They put you on hold. The last time a called I was on hold for 43 minutes. Then they tell me (every time I call) that the person they say we need to talk with is never available. Their supervisor refuses to talk to us. They “promise” someone will call us back by the end of the day. That never happens.It took almost a year for them to get the solar panels up and working. There were many problems of parts not working and had to be reordered. I spent hours on eternal hold trying to find out what was going on. At one point I told them to forget it and just remove it. I was directed to call the company with this request but again , never could get a hold of “the right person” to stop the installation. When they hooked it up, something was wrong and I started getting bills almost 4 times what they should have been. It took months for that to get fixed and to get reimbursed.There company has no integrity. They deceive you into signing a contract that is very different than the information given to you in a presentation. Then they disrespect you by avoiding all communication with you. If they come knocking at your door, DONT ANSWER THE DOOR,

I will definitely give credit where credit is due and write good reviews when they are warranted, however this company is a joke. Their customer service is amongst the worst I have ever dealt with. I have tried to get a service technician out to my house over 5 times now. They seem to be basically just deleting the order when I hang up because every time I call, they say there is no ticket open or they say call back tomorrow because their service department is closed and apparently their service department closes at noon during the week. I also have roof leaks under the solar panels that they have tried to fix and cant seem to fix. BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY, they will not support you or meet their contractual obligations with you. I'm not sure if there is a better company to use but do your homework before choosing Sunrun as they are pretty pathetic.

I first started with solar through Sunrun in 2019. They were great at first. Since then they have gone downhill with their communication. 2021 I had a roof leak and needed my panels removed so the roof work could be completed. It took 3 months of almost daily phone calls, emails, chats to get this accomplished. All the while, every time it rained my roof would leak. Fast forward to Sept 2023. Apparently my system had a malfunction and went offline on Sept 10th. It took until Oct 30th before they sent me an email stating my system wasn’t working properly. It is now November 7th and a technician was supposed to be out at my house between 7-noon to fix it. At 12:30 I called and after 20 minutes was told that the technician was behind on another job (removing panels) and would call me shortly with an ETA. At 3:30 I still hadn’t received a phone call so I called again. Again I was told they were still running behind but “rest assured” they will call me and be at my home by 5pm. I get home from work at 7pm and still nothing. I called again at 7:30 (it’s dark by now) and they “apologized for the inconvenience unfortunately our dispatch dept is closed” and they will call me back in the morning.So the entire day, my dog was locked in the house like they asked so they could have access to my yard. This is unacceptable in multiple ways.Getting someone on the phone….. easy. Getting someone to come to your home for any issue… near impossible.Oh yeah, by the way they are still billing me for a system that is shut down. So not only has my electric bill gone up because there is no solar to offset it, but Sunrun still expects me to pay them for a non-working system for the past two months.

Sun run continues to disappoint. I have had service since 2018 and have yet to save any money on my electricity. Not only that, but my unit has also failed to produce the amount of energy that was promised in my contract 3 years in a row and the company will not honor its agreement and reimburse the difference as promised in my contract. I have been in contact with a Rep by the name of Joe Back for weeks and have had no progress made on this issue. I will be reaching out to the BBB and pursuing legal action now.

This company is a rip off ! They want to charge $5500 to temporarily remove panels for a new roof now ! Seriously unbelievable! We were told it was $500 in the beginning with the sales rep !!! Nothing like screwing customers over and lairs so beware if you consider using this company!

Why are we still getting a bill from SRP for $300 plus? Your company is trash, going to take you to court. Do not trust sunrun. They steal, they lie. You get a $300 bill plus monthly from sun run then youll still get your monthly electric bill $300 plus monthly. So if you want to pay more money to be "clean" its a scam.

We had additional panels installed in April shortly there after our original panels were shut down currently those panels our not producing? The city inspector has shut both systems down, the ability of there service department is under staffed, therefore, we had two project managers, both out of state for the same address. It made no sense to me and Sunrun service departments ability to meet with the city inspector. When their work was completed, did not happen. Therefore, there is a delay between the time the city is not passing inspection and at the time it takes for the service department resolve the problem. In the meantime, they have subcontracted their maintenance/service department, which is one more entity you have to deal with! we had no problems at all with the original system we are leasing these panels. Therefore you might think there might be some urgency to resolve the problem. It’s very hard to make contact and the process is slow. We were reimbursed for the lease on the original set of panels although our APS bill continues.most of the service requests our done by personal out of the country and can only do so much, at this point I would not recommend this company to anyone, it’s extremely time consuming with very slow results. It’s been and still is very frustrating and the system is still not working.

If I could give this company zero stars I would. The Customer support is a joke. Or non-existent I should say. Back in April I had an appointment scheduled with them that they had to cancel. Received from this company is The solar bill. I haven't the system installed. It has doubled energy bill. If you were interested in solar DEFINITELY DO NOT go with this company.
