As I read the other reviews, I noticed many people were upset with process errors or just regular bank policy. You can't count those things against an individual branch. In my experiences, service has been great. I have never had an issue. I would encourage the staff to continue being friendly and making small talk. It will keep folks coming back.

Just go to Chase it's not worth supporting a non profit when you are just going to be screwed over.I recently had a highly frustrating experience with Truwest Credit Union that has left me extremely dissatisfied with their services. I have encountered numerous issues with my card, leading to constant declines and an inability to reach their support team for assistance. This has resulted in significant inconvenience and, most recently, left me stranded for two days, forced to sleep in my car.One of the main issues I faced was the constant card declines, even after I had requested the removal of my spending limit. Despite approving transactions through their text confirmation system which was delayed until the following morning, I found that my card continued to be declined, specifically over a $50 deposit I owed to a hotel. This meant that I had already paid for the room but was unable to access it, resulting in further inconvenience and the need to sleep in my car.Apart from the technical glitches that caused my card to decline, I also found the Truwest credit cards to be flimsy and unreliable. They hardly work anywhere, adding to the frustration and limitations of using their services.Additionally, if you are considering opening a business account with Truwest Credit Union, be prepared for a difficult and cumbersome process. They require an excessive amount of paperwork compared to other financial institutions. In contrast, when I opened a business account with Chase, I found the process to be incredibly smooth and easy.Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Truwest Credit Union. The frequent card declines, lack of timely support, and difficulty in obtaining a business account make it a poor choice for anyone seeking reliable banking services. I highly recommend exploring other options that prioritize customer convenience and satisfaction

This bank is a horrible bank. My husband is a member and he tried getting an advance check that he got from his work cashed here. He got accused of trying to cash a suspicious check. My husband got this advance specifically for our rent to be paid on time from his work. The bank cashee it, then refused to give us the money and said they were going to hold the check because it looked suspicious. He told the banker he was going to close his account due to this unfair act. They told him his money will be on hold for 7 days until he can receive the cash. After demanding the check to be given back it was finally given back. Now we are playing run around trying to find a place to cash his check. Thanks for nothing truwest. I would never recommend this bank. You might get accused of bringing in a suspicious check.

I have been coming here for the last 2 months to cash my check every Friday. Many of those times the manager has seen me. Today I found out this branch might be racist…. different teller SAME manager told me they could not cash my check because my name doesn’t make sense to them and because they don’t know me….again been coming here for q couple of months. I have a first, middle and 2 last names as I am Mexican. I also brought up the fact to the manager that he has literally been here every time I’ve come and has talked to the tellers and even answered their questions while helping me before. My name hasn’t changed, my IDs haven’t changed the only thing that has changed is that they refused to cash my check simply because I am different. SHAME ON YOU.

7 Days to Transfer money from bank to bank.On the 24th I scheduled a bank to bank transfer (after already waiting the 3 days to verify it was the accurate account)— my transfer was put on hold to verify AGAIN. The money was taken from my (other bank) account on the 27th, for $1,200.Today is the 30th, I have not received the $1,200 transfer to my TruWest account. This is the second time that faulty transfers have kept me from paying my rent. (First time it was the 3 days to verify both accounts).I will absolutely be switching my banking after 3 days of missing $1,200 due to faulty system operation of TruWest. This is totally unacceptable— if the transfer on the 24th was going to take 7 days— I would have used my other bank to pay my rent. Now I have additional late fees for something I tried to complete 7 days ago. This is completely unacceptable.Edit: today is the 5th and my account was locked to transfer money again. I called and the reason I was told is because the person who handled my transfer last time “forgot to unlock my account”. Todays Friday so another 3 day wait for an instant transfer if they decide not to verify again.Unprofessional and incompetent.

Have typically had only good experiences with tru west but lately I've been thinking maybe a bank account with a credit union isn't such a good thing. I went in looking to get cash out of the bank to buy a used vehicle and the most they could give me was $5000? They said they needed enough cash to give other people?? Isn't a bank supposed to be able to give you money you have in your account???

I have had a car loan with these people for a few years now, Covid-19 has been a challenge as the bank branches I would go to closed down, I live in Prescott and Credit Union West here also closed shared branching, they also do not accept cash, (cash is risky?) this further imposes unforeseen circumstances unanticipated due the times we live in. I called TruWest leaving messages on there land line service and there were no return calls ever. Electing to write snail mailing checks I kept up with the payments paying more than was ever asked... While all payments are due the 1st I do have until a later date to pay by, albeit it would be nice if employers were kept to the same schedule for consistency sake, alas they are not, ergo pay dates move somewhat. I have written these checks for months mailing them to the P.O. Box on the payment coupon. Regardless of when I mail the check it clears at about the end of the month ish. Regardless of the fact we are not paying later than the current month, the calls begin about the 15th implying that we are past our due date and please call back. I usually wait until the check clears, before doing anything and this month it cleared the 23rd, it was sent the on the 14th, the mail takes 1-2 days from Prescott to Phx. This round I got contacted again and returned the call the 26th asking what they wanted, I was told I was paying too late, I said no I am not, in the discourse Lupe held to his logic that regardless of when the Bank chooses to cash the check his records show I am being undesirable. My rebuttal is its paid regardless of their circumstances there and here the loan is current because its now cashed, stating that always is at the end of the month (not my choice) on their end. I tried to explain I have left calls asking for advise and was writing the checks as a final option having no control over when they check their mail or when they cash the check... I cannot pay the loan ahead because any extra payment goes to principle and another payment is automatically due the 1st anyway and the silly game would begin again. I rate this bank very low on approachability, even overlooking the attempt to collect a payment where no payment would be due if they realise what is going on. I find it unnecessary to pay $11.00 per mailing to RSVP proof through the postal service per check for abysmal customer service. I realise Covid-19 is a source of consternation for all...Lupe sucks as a representative of the Credit Union and I should not have to over talk him to make a case on a paid loan, nor was he interested in my issues at all, only his...somewhat narcissistic a view for a credit union. Retraining may be in order, might I suggest conflict de-escalation? Even listening may just be enough. Until then avoid this institution known as TruWest Credit Union, they have the personality of a reptile. Also I thank them for the loan, it's the grief I disdain.

I don't write yelp reviews, but I want everyone in the world who visits this page for TruWest to understand how absolutely terrible and embarrassing their customer service truly is. Take biggest nightmare in dealing with any company and multiply it by 10x. I've spent over 5 hours on the phone over the past month simply to try and pay my auto loan off. I want to give them my money, so I can move on with my life. Absolutely terrible.
