Customer Service is HORRIBLE! We received a call from Alaska today and the girl would not say what she was needing. When we asked her why she is calling, she hung up on my husband. When we got back to the office we looked at our account and realized that a check from Alaska from our business to our personal was placed on a 5 day hold. They are holding our own money!?! Called in to find out why, they don't care the guy was unable to pull up our account from the number on our check (from their bank) asked for last 6 of social, he could not figure out why they put it on hold just told us that it was their policy. Asked to speak to a supervisor, transferred me to even longer hold, another customer service rep, 24 min she transferred me again, finally 48 min later a supervisor came on. We explained to her the way we were treated, she didn't care, no remorse, no sorry, so she must hear it way to often. We have been dealing with them putting a limit on the amount of money we can deposit into our bank account. Mind you, this is a business and we are only allowed to deposit $5000. There is no branch near us and the lady argued with me and said I could mail in the checks if I didn't want to drive the 45 min to do direct deposit. What a can of worms that would be with the mail system and them posting or not posting our clients checks. NO THANK YOU! We will be removing all our money from this credit union. We would never treat our clients this way! When I went to read reviews I saw all the nightmares that others have been dealing with too. The only reason why we chose them is they were a shared branch to a credit union that is amazing in Colorado. What is wrong with people? RUDE! UNBELIEVABLE AND SAD! Take notice to the people who make the decisions with Alaska! You all need to send your associates to customer service training!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! Why? Here ya go: SHORT VERSION: I got called from Alaska Federal Credit Union to change my bank from TCF to Alaska Federal. I told the girl that called me that, NO! I don't want to close my TCF Account to open an Alaska Federal Account. SHE DID IT ANYWAYS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!! When I called, they said, "Yes, it seems like you consented with Stephanie over the phone." NO I DIDN'T!!! I MADE IT VERY CLEAR THAT I DID NOT WANT TO SWITCH!!! THESE PEOPLE AT ALASKA FEDERAL ARE SCUM!!! THIS IS A SCUM BANK!!! You have to think, "If they CLOSED this my TCF Bank Account WITHOUT MY PERMISSION; and they opened an Alaska Federal Account WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, what ELSE are they going to do without YOUR permission? LONG VERSION: I got a call from a girl named Stephanie or Samantha. She was saying that TCF Bank was going to close and Alaska was taking over their locations. The caller asked if I wanted to switch my Checking Account from TCF to Alaska Federal. Then, she started asking me questions like, "What's your name? What's you address? What's your Account Number?" And, I thought, "Hey! This is EXACTLY what those scammers act like. In fact, EVERYONE I've ever talked to has told me NEVER to give my name and address over the phone; and this chick is asking for my name, address, bank account number, and Social Security Number? Who is this chick? I don't know her! Why is she calling me? Why haven't I received any letters about this?" So, I told her that I DIDN'T want to give that PERSONAL INFORMATION over the phone. Also, I made it VERY clear that I DIDN'T want to change banking services over the phone, neither. In addition, I told her that IF I did want to change banks I would go into the TCF Bank's physical location to talk to someone there about it...DEFINITELY NOT OVER THE PHONE!!! Well, I decided to stay with TCF and NOT switch banks to Alaska Federal. But, the next thing I know is my TCF Account is closed and my bank card doesn't work anymore! Why? Well, that Stephanie/Samantha chick decided to close my TCF Account WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, and create an Alaska Federal Account WITHOUT MY PERMISSION and WITHOUT ANY WARNING!!! So, you have to ask yourself this: IF THEY CLOSED MY TCF ACCOUNT and opened an Alaska Federal Account WITHOUT MY PERMISSION...what else are they going to do without YOUR permission? Will they open loans in YOUR name WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION? Will they give away YOUR money WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION? Will THEY decide that YOU "forfeited" all of your money WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION? Well, I decided that I wasn't going to find out what else they were going to do WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, and I closed my account THE MOMENT I FOUND OUT WHAT HAPPENED!!! Now, I have to go to ANOTHER bank and open ANOTHER account. After that, I have to wait at least a week before my checks come in the mail and wait for my Bank Card to come in, as well. Then, I have to call my work and change my Direct Deposit Information. Then, I have to go online to ALL THE DIFFERENT Websites (eBay and PayPal) and change my Banking information there, too. And, I NOW have to do ALL THIS EXTRA WORK because some dumb broad decided she wanted to fluff her numbers by doing something I CLEARLY told her NOT TO!!! Just stay away from Alaska Federal! You would be better off dealing with those check-cashing places...or a loan shark that breaks legs. Now, I guess I have to wait for the SAME Copy-and-Pasted response from the "manager" that everyone gets on these Reviews. Have a great day everyone. Please, make sure you listen to what I wrote here. Alaska Federal is a scum bank and it's full of scum that cause nothing but problems. FUNNY STORY: When I was waiting in line to close my account, ANOTHER unhappy customer was talking to a teller, and when he left, even he said, "This place is full of idiots!" and I just have to agree with him. Also, as I sat there closing my account, I could hear TWO MORE unhappy custo
