Picacho Peak State Park is a historic and beautiful Sonoran Desert park located between Phoenix and Tucson just off I-10. It is home to some of the best wildflower displays in Arizona and offers amazing hiking opportunities with moderate to intermediate and rough trails, including cables for the more difficult parts. The views from the summit are very nice. It features a spacious campground with great camp sites, though picnic tables and fire pits are not convenient to some. The park is far enough from the road that you don't hear a lot of traffic. Amenities include a cute visitor center, disebos, small picnic areas, restrooms with showers, and electric hookups, though visitors must bring their own water.
Nice campground but no water to fill tank. Must fill your tank prior to arrival.

Stopped at the visitor center. The Ranger was very helpful and knowledgeable.

It's a nice park. Very clean and well kept. Restrooms and showers are clean and heated. It was cold evening until morning. It's that time of year. I would camp there again.
